Forget the ironed clothes, Botox and the peels ladies, let's celebrate the winkles. Every deep wrinkle on Ajji's forehead and chin , every white strand is WISDOM... and I think wisdom is the only prized asset that you have most likely earned when you have one foot in the grave... ok that's a crude put... let me put it in a nicer way as they say like when you are nearing Shiva's abode 😉 .

Whichever you put the simple fact of life uttered by Ajji saying you are sure of the present but unsure of the future hit the nail on the head.

God knows her parents could have lent a dear hand to hold that she needs most now... but even samidha herself has an uneasy conscience ... little shame in attaining motherhood out of marriage as she agonized . Hopefully ajji can convince her own daughter for her grand daughter's sage . Dearly hope wisdom prevails.

And as they say the carrots have been already cooked in the sense the milk's already spilt ... so just take care of it.

Ajji is awesome. She is playing Samidha's mother/sister/friend role. Ajji is able to convince/console her so called illegitimate actions by drawing parallel to scriptures and what not.

I guess after going thru life - she is only worried about Sams happiness and health. She is not worried about any family or society or any other baggage. Won't it be great if everybody in Avi and Sams family take it that way ?

BTW, does Avi's brother know ? Is he reacting like Shiva too ?

Just another day, throwing up, brushing teeth, instant coffee, TV, newspaper, walking on tippy toes so the dog wont be startled and begin to chase her

Every box was checked until 11:14 AM then her life wont be the same ever again

She felt a twitch in her belly.

She assumed she was stretching to take off her tee before the shower

Then it happened again...

A stirring

She touched her stomach and stared at the mirror in shock

She pulled the soiled laundry out and checked her underwear if she was bleeding, in complete panic mode

"Nope!

Then that twitch...

"Did something MOVE?

She sat on the marble floor shaking, and felt the spasm again... and again

She got up gingerly held on to the vanity and walked out and the dog sat up startled to see his human almost nude

T: Where is the man when I need him?

He stood up intending to follow her, she crouched on the bed, huddling before the dog could get to her, and turned the face of the bedside clock, 11:19 AM

11:19 AM first day of Navaratri... her baby had moved

She patted her belly softly

"Akshara she whispered

Nope... nothing

She lay in bed gently stroking her lower belly

It happened again... and again... And too many times again

She cried tears of joy unable to comprehend how happy she was at that moment

She texted her two closest friends Reg (Regina) and Pras (Prasanna)

"See... I told u... genius... I knew the baby would kick Reg sent a bunch of memes

"I am sorry... thanks... I was so frightened nothing was happening and it's the 16^th week

"Why would the universe just keep on punishing u, u twit?

"I guess she texted through teary eyes

"Did u tell Merv?

"No... its you guys first

"What about the dude

"Um... not yet... hes so busy at work

"Nothing like that... just don't know if he will be like so thrilled

She finally showered at Noon

And wore a new flowy dress she had bought on the streets of Janpath

He was really late coming home, sneezing non stop...

She was in bed in her old baggy tee, curled up in a ball, snoring softly when he entered the room at almost midnight

He paused by the bed, bending down to smell her neck

Went to the kitchen, and found two covered Corelle serving bowls with lids

"I made Konkan fish curry and rice

"And obviously ate it all he muttered in frustration

She had left that note in one of the bowls

He opened the lid on the other one

"Its in the frig! she said "P.S. Stir it when u heat, it has coconut gravy..

He grinned, holding the lid and staring into the bowl

Stir stirs so many Butterfly flutters not just in her stomach but also our hearts ❤️

And the most eagerly awaited moment during a pregnancy is here.
It's just the wonderful beginning. Wait till the baby kicks , punches and has a dance party of its own.

I don't think anyone can express the joy when a pregnant mom gets to feel the wiggle, jiggle and the squirming of the baby . It feels as if the baby is creating art , drawing landscape and mountain slopes with its tiny hands and feet on a canvas called the mom's tummy'. ❤️ 😳

That two notes in the the correlle bowls was a master tease👏 . She knows how to equally keep him hooked 😆

Sly , clever tease . No wonder the adorable prank had him grinning staring in to the bowl and btw she got lucky in a way... Good he found the notes in the right order. It left me thinking she took a chance as he had to open the right bowl first to make the right hit. .. because he could have opened the other one first as well that said it's in the fridge. Ha Ha. Enjoyed reading this

Absolutely exciting moment, for a first time mom. Bubbles that float around and bring bubbly joy. Every other time, it makes u happy but u kind of know what to expect ! U won't go looking in the dirty laundry and be scared

I wish she shares this moment with him soon. Avi would love to be part of the moment as well. Also Toast too !l

She spent the next 30 minutes talking to Ajji while trying to catch the songs he was humming in the shower

She found his tool chest and went off to hang it

The upstairs neighbor guy "Do you live here? guy paused as she struggled to hold the nail and hammer it

He bend down and picked up the drill and handed it to her

"the tip's magnetic, just use this

"Haha great she nodded

The dog leaped out of the house as Avi opened the door toweling his hair dry when he heard the drill

The nail slipped and fell

The guy found it

"Here can I do it? he offered

She must have looked rather "non pregnant AND fetching in her little flowery summer dress

The dog ran to the gate and ran across the grassy patch upfront

Avi watched, with the towel around his neck

The battery died as the dude tried to drill a nail hole first

"Umm.. guess... this needs charging

"Damn she muttered

The guy looked at Avi

"U don't keep this charged? the dude questioned,

"Nope... I just use the hammer Avi flexed

He pulled the towel off and flung it on the back of the couch and stepped out

Avi nailed and hung the sculpture in less than 5 minutes the old fashioned way, with 4 quick strokes of the hammer
