Chapter-2
"marwawo ge kiya dono bhai milke?" cribs Raghab, who was in the back seat n just bangs his forehead in the front seat back, due to the sudden break pulling.
The two in the front seat are looking rather frightened. And without thinking Rishabh gets out of the car! Kunal, on the other hand just freezes on his seat. Raghab got confused, but he senses something seriously wrong and gets out of the car within a moment after Rishabh and sees in front of their car on the road, a woman figure, saree cladded, curled up, sideways, facing away from them. Her body language showing that she is in immense pain, but no external injury visible! Rishabh went closer and Raghab behind him.
Rishabh goes to the other side and sees she is holding her stomach tightly with her two hands, to lessen the pain maybe, the right sleeve of her blouse is torn and the face, the face showing immense pain, the face he saw before! Just a few hours ago, at Mr.Bhatiya's party! Sikky and his friends were giving dirtry looks at her backless blouse and were talking to each other about her in a very vulgar way! Rishabh found it pathetic and puke worthy! He was not a saint, but he never likes men talking like this about women's clothing, especially married women! Yes! This woman was there in the party with her husband, just a few hours ago! She was looking so beautiful that most of the eyes got fixed on her only! Her husband was introducing her to everyone! They came to him to! The name was Mr. Thakur! And now this woman is in this situation, at the middle of a lonely road! Why? And only the worst possibility crosses his mind! Horrorstruck,he feels... "No..." whispers Rishabh
Now seeing Rishabh's eyes widen and frozen, Raghab reaches his side and sees the woman and one word comes out of his mouth, shocked, pained "Naina??!!"
The next thing Raghab does is, taking the woman in his arms n taking her inside the car! Rishabh is dumbstruck, but gets in the car and they start for the nearest hospital.
"This is why this Naina did not want to marry Raghab! She is already married! And now this..." the mare thought is horrifying to Rishabh
"Rishabh bhaiya! ... The nearest hospital??" Kunal asks
Rishabh comes to his senses and starts looking for the nearest hospital. Raghab in the backseat holds the woman closely and caresses her face!
They reach the hospital and take her to the emergency department! One lady doctor appears immediately! She throws a questionable not so decent look at the three men as she checks the woman! And within moments she orders the nurse beside her
"OT taiyar karo and you three fill the form"
"She will be ok na doctor?" asked Raghab
"We will need time" replies the doctor
Three word boys come with the strechers and another nurse. The doctor tells the nurse and the word boy in a hushed voice and leaves with the pained woman in the stretcher carried by other two word boys. The three men go behind them, outside the OT! The nurse after a while brings them the form for filling up. Raghab takes the form and ticks friend at the Relationship with the Patient column.
The injured woman is inside the OT. The three men are eagerly waiting outside. Suddenly a thought arises in Raghab's mind. He should call Naina's parents. But what is he going to tell them. Giving such news in phone is not a good idea. But he must!
Raghab takes his phone and calls Naina's landline number. Someone from the other side picks the call after a while
"Hallow Raghab beta, pohoch gaye tum Mumbai?" asks a female voice in a formal tone
"Yes aunty ji, I am here in Mumbai. Auntyji, where is uncleji?"
"yehipe hai. Baat karoge unse?"
"nehi auntyji!" Raghab pauses for a moment " auntyji' can you and uncleji please come to the Aseem Hospital of Santacruz West right now?please?"
"Hospital? But why? Beta are you okey?" concern in her voice
"I am okey auntyji" Raghab pauses again " auntyji I found Naina on my way from airport. She met with a small accident. Can you please come?"
"naina?!?" the tone is that of shock and disbelief
"it's not that big! Bus thori si chot lagi hai! Aap log aa sakhe to achchha ho" Raghab lies
"we are coming" and the lady cuts the call
A nurse comes out of the OT after a while.
"How is she?" Raghab asks... worry in his voice
"There are internal injuries, it will take time... look, can you help us to contact her family?"
"I think I can help" a man in khaki was now standing by their side "hallow, I am inspector Khan"
"I have already called her family and they are on their way" Raghab says
"Thank you!" the nurse says and leaves through the corridor
"Ok Mr. Mahera, as you wrote in the form, Ms. Malik, the patient is your friend. Can you please tell me how all these happened?" questions Inspector Khan
Raghab gets impatient to know how sever the injuries were. He is unable to control his emotions. How is telling the story at this moment more than Naina's wellbeing. His annoyance visible in his face!
"Please cooperate Mr. Mahera! Knowing how all these happened is as important as saving her life!" the inspector says
Raghab opens his mouth to say something, but Kunal cuts him and says "I am telling you everything" and starts telling him what has happened
The same nurse comes to the three of them in a hurry and asks "is any of you AB positive? The patient needs blood"
Kunal has stopped speaking and both he and Raghab look at Rishabh! But Rishabh seems lost! Hard to tell whether he heard what the nurse said.
"Rishabh!" Raghab calls him impatiently
"hah??" Rishabh replies as if he just came back to this world
"AB positive blood is needed for the patient" Kunal says
"oh yes! I am AB positive!" Rishabh says coming to his senses and leaves with the nurse.
"So, Mr. Raghab, you knew this lady already and you met her tonight on the lonely road in this situation by ACCIDENT!?!" Tone of disbelief
Raghab feels hell irritated now. He was about to say something when he notices, escorted by a ward boy, coming through the corridor were, three people... A dishevelled Mrs. Padmini Malik, Mr. Shamsher Malik, looking a bit weak and in white trouser and sky blue shirt...
"Naina?!?!" shocked, surprised, astonished whisper leaves Raghab's mouth...
