The very term fabric of society' has to take on more layers of threads for redefining it.
How do we even define morals and society in a pluralistic seamless world that we live in today. I think we are definitely heading towards more tolerance in terms of accepting different morals but every time when one in an individual capacity tries to kind of not conform in a way, there is always this fear of looking over our shoulders to see if we are tearing that fabric... to tear or not tear the assumed fabric' is always a conflict. Hari and shobana's Conflict is relatable because they are watching as first generation parents and wondering what's wrong if we just stretch it a little as long as we are not tearing it!! In a nutshell we as a society are collectively torn as to what the fabric encompasses today !!! 😆

Loved & Hated

Shobana's phone rang as she was on her way home from the Kodambakkam spa. Meenakshi had asked her to stop by to look at and feel and smell some essential oil concoctions a masseuse from Kottayam had brought this morning

She was changing many things on the menu, and this was one of it

"Hello? Shobana said without looking as she waved to the driver to park on the side street near Ranganathan St in T Nagar

She looked down at her phone and realized

It said "Vasudha Varadan?

Her insides somersaulted

"Hello? she said again

Not sure still

"Epdi irukel? Vasudha whispered (how are u?)

"Umm Shobana was cautious

She waved and smiled at the driver indicating she was going to be a while

He nodded and left her alone, turned off the engine accidentally and turned it back on left the AC on and walked out.

"Epdi irukel? Vasudha repeated

"Very well Shobana said clearly

"Oh?

Shobana waited she wanted to ask how she was, but had too much pride

A million thoughts raced thru her head, Srini committed a sin she was punishing his wife. Vasudha had always been pleasant. But then being married to him and staying quiet is a crime too, I don't care for Vasudha

"How could she have raised such a weak boy?

"Umm Vasudha interrupted her thoughts

"Epdi irukel? Shobana said softly

"Edo iruken (I am not sure how I am)

"Umm Shobana nodded

"Busy ya irukela? (are u?)

"Umm.. Kodambakkathla spa tarakara kozhande, edo men maathara, Kerala lendu yaaro vandaar innikki, she wanted me to test some products (she is openinga new spa, she is changing up the offering)

"Oh... very good... so good Vasudha was delighted

Vasudha adored Meenakshi, more than Hari loved Anirudh

"Sollungo (tell me more) Vasudha begged

Shobana spoke for 7 minutes straight, telling her many things about the business, keeping the conversation unemotional and offtopic

Vasudha didn't get the affection or love from Janani at home, she was Srini's choice, but she didn't care for Vasudha

Vasudha was particularly heart broken at Meenakshi no longer becoming a part of that Besant Nagar home

Vasudha heaped praises and the women paused looking for a topic

"Vikram Janani rendu perum?

"Irukka (they are fine)

"Oh Shobana was curt

"Vishaka edo business panna poren nu tudikara (my daughter wants to do business) "Meenakshi madiri ellam discipline venume (she doesn't have that discipline)

"Adunala enna... she will be successful (so what) Shobana stopped herself from spontaneously saying "Ur husband has so much money to squander, he will make sure she is successful)

"Anirudh pathi kekka maatela? (ask abt Anirudh) Vasudha tried not to choke up

"Um...? Sollungo) (you tell me)

"Avan per kooda naak la edukka maatelo? (wont u even say his name?)

Shobana was in despair, she was chanting his name a million times every day for 7 years, who knew it would all crash land

"Uhh... um Shobana struggled to keep her composure

"Annikki raatri paathen sonnan (he saw her the other nite)

"Hmm Shobana's voice quivered

"Avan appaku teriyadu... illene tolachuduvar (Srini doesn't know he drank, he would be mad)

Shobana thought "Then hide it like how you or he hid the fact that Meenakshi and him went on a trip after engagement, and happened to be intimate. My daughter told me everything. Such a pity your son gets no openness at home

"Nalla kozhandai avan (he is such a good boy)

"With needs every "good boy " has Shobana smirked in her mind

"Vaango ennakanum (come over)

"Sorry... adu mudiyade (not possible)Shobana said clearly

"Apdi solladengo, we are the only hope of our kids ever being happy (don't be so dismissive)

"No, that's not true... my daughter is happy Shobana threw that unconvincing line out there

"Epdi mudiyum? (I don't believe that)

"She has moved on. She didn't tell me to call you or check on Anirudh. Adellam anda kalam (those days are gone) Shobana was slowly getting agitated

"That's OK... I called it's the same

"Its not the same Vasudha... epdi same irukkum? (how can it be?)

Vasudha was speechless

"Everytime I see her I feel like all this never even happened... it's a good thing... she shows no sign of being broken

"Anirudh is not showing any other sign

"He cannot blame anyone but his own father for that Shobana broke down

Vasudha wept audibly

"I loved him like my own child Vasudha

"LOVED solladengo... please (don't speak in past tense)

"That is all is left Shobana hung up and sobbed into her fine cotton pallu

Whoa...what a conversation to have!!!😲 Thank you Nisha for such a lovely update.

Only this morning shobhi was batting for The chamathu paiyan with needs when her husband Hari as a matter of fact launched a tirade directed at Anirudh!!! But all the stifled feelings and pent up emotions or her adhangam on her daughter current status bottled up came to the fore in that forced conversation she had to make with vasudha.

The most poignant thing is meenu still let herself turn back the pages after that pub without seeming to hold a major grudge against Her ex!!!

Also I do think,When one gets to live with a father in law like Srini, it's ok for vikram and Janani to not be party to the self sufferers group and be a little selfish for themselves. What did being good get for Anirudh personally?!!!!

All said and done, I feel like giving one mighty whack to this chamathu paiyan ... the dude of Sosy never made me feel this violent as this chamathu paiyan does!! 😉

sorry went out to eat and watch Crazy Rich Asians (Chinese Bollywood movie) last nite

Him vs Her

"How could you even call her? Srini thundered

Vasudha busied herself trying to put away things in the pooja room

"You show a lot of anger and moodiness towards me but go off and fall at the feet of Hari's wife

"Why are u not talking to me, answer me? Srini stood in the doorway hands fidgeting with the tiny real silver elephants and bell toran that hung like a curtain on the doorway

"I am busy right now she mumbled

"See... right there... see right there, your true personality is shining, angry and upset at your own husband he ranted

She continued to wipe down the silver things

"Its like you don't care for what I like any more and want to do what you want. BTW if u beg Hari's wife, and she jumps and grabs the idea to save her daughter's life. That girl has to come HERE and live amongst us he cackled

"Not if Anirudh leaves this house Vasudha whispered

"ENNA SONNEY? (what did u say?)

"If Anirudh leaves this house after who ever he marries?

"He is not going anywhere. He is not marrying Meenakshi

"He will not live under ur thumb his whole life Vasudha shouted

"Why? Did he tell you he is love sick? Srini was out raged

"That's not going to matter to you. You only care about yourself no?

"Do u want me to care for Hari and Meenakshi?

"U should have, its too late now

"U think by going behind my back and manipulating the situation you will get what u want

"I wish Vasudha hissed looking him straight in the eyes

"As long as I am alive she will not enter this house

"As long as I am alive I will keep trying Vasudha said under her breath

"Your love for your son is so toxic

"Your arrogance and hunger for more and more wealth is destroying Anirudh's life

"U and him are enjoying the comforts no? I don't see you living in a one room apartment in T Nagar or Perambur stretching a rupee

"I WOULD LEAVE IN A HEART BEAT. Vikram and Vishaka wouldn't care. They both are just like you. Selfish and self serving. My heart breaks for my Anirudh. Your deeds have resulted in destroying his wife. My poor wonderful son

"He is fine.HE will be fine Srini teared up

"There is no use crying "Why are u crying? Vasudha mocked him

"U think I am happy his engagement broke?

"U better be. You worked hard for it

Vasudha left the room

Anirudh chased her down

"Ennachu Ma? (what happened?)

"I wish something had she turned to her son with tear filled eyes

Sarcasm, rudely hurled jibes, a little welled up eyes, a little yearning, and not the least a little love ...a man's flailing when realizing that his wife is probably getting away from him forever and the pain of having to live with himself ...not sweet, not perfect but still it's some love... if we can call it that... that's srini's kind of love for his family in his own way wanting to keep his family close on his terms.

Sadly, his overbearing methods , his need for attention from his edgy wife is mostly flawed love that's no cure for their collective misery. Sorry Srini mama, your tambathiyam is no sangeetham as you would like it to be!!!! No wings to flap when you cut them!!!

Nisha getting in to the skin of character like srini to portray him this way is awesome 👏 Him vs her my most favorite till date of Hridaya paksha

How is your hubs doing? All better?

Though much better in range Of motion Still a little handicapped Nisha . The bicep fold from the elbow back to the shoulder is not happening .The bend's range abruptly stops at 90 and he needs 120 minimum So basic things like shampooing or putting the top shirt button is with some difficulty. He request help for his luggage during work Travel but he is fine otherwise. There is another elbow joint specialist trying something different ... so waiting for some development in 4-5 weeks ... if not there will be another corrective procedure September end
Physical therapy is going on.

Things good your end? How was your Summer with your boys... your teen should hv spent the summer well with you guys.Our end we would like to go to India for sometime in December if things get ok by mid October .
