I have taazi hawa, Garam chai but no poori aloo with Halwa... How I wish!!

Good Day and Evening all.

I'm reminded of my mum's saying Adukkulai Anyonyam meaning kitchen camaraderie . She used to say it's a huge weapon in their armory in a joint family structure. Adukulai is more Tamil Malayalam lingo influence while in general it's more aduppu arai or samayal kattu that's kitchen in normal parlance.

Basically she used to tell us girls that it's called that amidst all the cooking and chopping , it's basically cooking up kitchen camaraderie and kitchen politics to give themselves an upper hand.

After the Drs visit Lakshmi is taking her youngest Dil in to confidence in their kitchen to expand their group and cooking up camaraderie , in this case with regard to chandoo. Early days hmmm...because whatever they cooked up ain't working with the son/ husband who happens to know very well which side of his blade is sharpened 😆

The sleeping arrangement took a huge leap of confidence demonstrated by the wifey and must say this did work on husband . Like I said he knows which side of the bread / BED??? is BUTTERED' !!! 😳

Maheshwari magic

Her breakfast wasn't exactly a thumping success. Besides the salt it lacked spice as well, she hadn't added emough tomatoes. She had actually never cooked without onions, so this was a journey into unchartered territory for Teeku

Family was very gracious on her face, Lakshmi even scooped out potatoes in Sita Ram's lunch container in front of her

She picked Chandu up from school and endured a melt down in the car

The AC in the car had stopped working, so it was more miserable that it should have been

He ate poori and jam and was knocked out on Lakshmi's bed later

Teeku hurriedly dressed for the counseling appointment when he woke, talking to Mrs Sood when he was asleep

The counselor's office was in a back alley, with no clear signs, a young girl sat in the reception

The walls had baby pictures and balloon posters, and inspirational quotes in Hindi

The chairs were rickety steel legged ones

"Dr Giridhar Maheshwari it said on the various certifications on the wall

Chandu had a sucker in his mouth, her phone and two suckers in his pocket and his favorite red fire truck and iron man all in his pocket

Lakshmi had made bournvita for him with extra sugar weeping as she handed the silver glass to the kid

"Bus aaj ho aayen, uske baad Dadi aapko jaane nahi dengi she mumbled sniffling

Teeku wandered the room wondering why she was being made to wait

"Mr Vaidya nahi aaye? the girl asked

"Umm.. hum text kar sakte hain

She asked Chandu for the phone he screamed so the girl called Harit

He told her he was around the corner

Showing up almost within a few minutes

His white shirt not so white any more with the grime.

"You beat me to it he grinned

He picked up Chandu and tossed him in the air

Teeku wanted a hug... her brothers would always hug their wife, maybe they were too modern for Roorkee but they would

Harit sat across from her as Chandu sat on his lap and played with his phone now

"Aap dono andar ja sakte hain, munne ko hum sambhalen?

"Nahi rukenge who Teeku spoke primly not satisfied with the "tools in the lobby to entertain the kid

An old cane basket was filled with old toys and books

"Hum dekh lenge didi the girl begged with easy familiarity

"Avantika... lets go Harit stood up

The girl walked over to Chandu and held out two fists, "batao kya hai? he tapped the left, she opened then the right, then she pulled a Rs.5 coin from behind his ear

Chandu was smitten

She had more tricks

They entered Dr Maheshwari's room

He was in his 60s, reading a giant book or manual

"Mr & Mrs Vaidya... aa jayen please he stood up grunting

She could hear his wheezing across the room

"Thanks for meeting us at such short notice Harit smiled

"Arey rey... JV sahib ki aadesh mili hamey he laughed

He got Avantika to open up with startling ease

She narrated her life with Chandu for two years, also talking abt the 3 months ago abduction by Harit

Harit didn't look fazed

"Aap batayen mahashay... waise khaana banta hai shaadi waala he laughed, wheezing and coughing again

"Jee zaroor aa jaayen ghar par Harit invited

"Inke haath ka? Dr asked

Teeku squirmed awakwardly

"Avantika? Harit lobbed the ball to her court

"Umm.. hum aaj subah banaye khana.. nashta she mumbled

"Aur banana ki icchha nahi? he laughed

"Umm.. yeh log zyaada teekha khanate hain hamari aloo saag pheeki thi she explained

"Namak to sahi daal leti hain Dr asked

Teeku blushed

"Jee Harit chimed in

"Harit ko hum ITTE se jaante hain he showed a 6 inch measurement with his hands

"Sharmeele, muskuraate... hamari tab daadhi hoti thi, inko pasand nahi thi he laughed

Harit squirmed

"Hamey nahi laga ki yeh vaqaalat karenge Dr said thoughtfully and sighed staring out the window thinking of Hemant?

"Batayen beta he urged Harit to speak now

Harit talked about, his mother dealing with the loss of Hemant, the family, how he went after Chandu and brought him home

Teeku did not look happy when he was talking about it

"Chandu se lagaav hai? he smiled

Teeku broke out of her reverie and nodded smiling nervously

"Aachha yeh batayen, shaadi love thi, arranged? he asked

Teeku hesitated to say arranged, she was smitten with Harit Vaidya

"Ha... arranged doctor saab Harit chuckled responding without a pause

Dr watched Teeku's head hang dolefully.

"Laaye aap bache ko? he asked

Teeku stood up eagerly

"Aap baithen, hum bulwaate hain

Chandu appeared trying to repeat a magic trick the young girl had taught him

"Aa jao beta Dr Maheshwari invited with his fingers

He ran to Teeku and sat on her lap

"I can do magic Chandu promised

Adukkulai Anyonyam: omg, it's been ages since I have heard the word. So true - u make and break everything in the kitchen ! Our dear Lux is an expert now after dealing with two sets of DIL/son. She will handle everything with Avantika like a pro ! She knows where to push and where to pull. Interesting pieces of healthcare advices and concerns about Chandhu.

Pulli-kku peranthathu ponai-aguma? It takes only few seconds for Harit to figure out where the counselor concerns are coming from. He knows to push and pull too. Pushing his agenda on and off the bread/bed (lol!) with seasoning tips to finish off.

I really hope Dr. Maheshwari is able to make some change to Chandu. The kiddo deserves a break and someone to understand him and help him understand that he hasn't been abandoned.

So they are the clinic now let's see how the meeting goes
Will it be beneficial for Chandu or they both will again have difference of opinion about the past and present also...

Amazing Nisha.
I was wondering how will you pen this. And what a start it has been.
I thought the doctor will strainght away talk to chandu. But then after reading this was so pleased to see the doctors approach.
It's not only Chandu's problem that he can't adjust. It is the circumstances and peole around him too.
Loved it. It's going to turn out good even for our couple. Tikku is getting info about her husbands childhood and she can tease him about it now.
I like Harit's Approach. He will call spade a spade (I.e. speak out his mind)when alone with his wife. But protective when they have company. Can anything be better than this?
Love this guy.

No surprise Tikku is smitten. She doesn't want to admit right away that it was arranged marriage as she has fallen for him.
So sweet.
I want tikku to thank him for whispering in person about the salt and eating 5 pooris without any complaint.
