Oh by the way going by the forty plus yardstick I've grown older but not wiser.. how do I know that of myself? Earlier it was my husband who thought I was adamant and that opinion hasn't changed even now ha ha ...so there's no he used to think references in past in my case but what gives me the gold medal in 2018 is my 16 yr old ... at times she goes...'ma, there's you all so from the heart lovable and then there's you who is unbelievably adamant . Looks like I will carry it to my pyre this streak 😆

Failings everyone has but it's vital to have the heart in the right place in matters that matter and when people compare you on the basis of that yardstick, and we come out as pass and not fail, I guess we are decently placed in the goodness and meanness meter.

Of course EN, I haven't told you where I have gone wiser and where not 😃 . Probably a little wiser with husband & mil but not with kids. Not because of learning but due to diversion 😆. True that all have failings. How much of it impacts the people we love puts us in the pass/fail scale.

II was a very self righteous. This one is young, naive and stubborn.
I hate making MILs and FILs the villians. They are most often not really villians.

I give young and old people bad qualities in equal measure so it looks like real life. Only Kekta can make the heroine faultless, and MIL a demon

i have been there i have always been told that i am adamant and go silent when i do not get my way, Its just that i know which battles to which i should not But i will never give up something that i totally believe is true, I never take a decision when i am upset and i always sleep over it ,so people think i am old and unemotional, Its just that i have learnt from my brother weigh the pros and cons then go with your heart. The balance between mind and heart is the key word

When emotions come into play, I'm correct, I'm always correct, I'm the only one who is correct - comes into play. We become so attached to the object in question. Here I'm holding the object too close. Result - either I was hurt or I was hurting others.

Few years back, I read a article by this Tamil lady in her late 50s who is alone in Chennai. Kids in US, Singapore, Australia. She struggles to let go. She is hurt when the kids are busy, married with kids and are moving on and away from her. She losses her parents as well. I will try to find the article and post when I'm back home.

There were many times I was adamant fir things to go my way. When I turned 40, I decided to let lose. Detached attachment for most of the things in my life - parents, friends. The change was very very difficult. Stop expecting from anyone. For a emotional, outgoing person like me, it was hard. But it kind of brings peace. Not worried about everything around you. Taking a different approach for every decision. Sometimes all it takes is a simple thank you or sorry to solve many world wars. Let lose ...

Avantika should go reach out to Alka. She was there to support Teeku in front of MIL or help her tie saree, etc. my two cents.

Though Teeku defended chandus action to Alka showing her indifference then to the girls, even before her husband Entered the pic and gave her a piece of his mind , I think sometimes the subconscious correlates the two things . Why do I get the feeling that may be Teeku's subconscious is kind of wanting an apology from Harit and when that happens she gets a closure . Post that , she is not going be able to hold off her guilt in making up to Alka I feel. Till that happens it's defiance that's not forcing Teeku to think about Alka's hurt.
