OK for a country that constantly disses India's arranged marriage system, its completely cringe worthy to watch women throw themselves at a man under the garb of "Liberal, free, progressive, kick-ass, successful, confident etc etc etc"
On the Bachelor🤢

Atleast Indian women that choose arranged marriages have some dignity.

I must not be sharp enough to understand this crap😭

I dont mean only the Bachelor
ANY show I watch, any movie I watch, women characters are SO DESPERATE

"I think I will get the ring today"

"OMG I got the sign, I think I am goingt o get the ring"

"I hope this weekend yields a "proposal""

"I dont want to freak him out or anything, but I hope he will think about "us".

"I know he will run away if I use the M word but I really hope he is thinking what I am thinking"

Putting all the goods out on the first date and developing a blocked artery hoping and praying for a marriage proposal. Moving from man to man to man, hoping and praying there is a ring at the end of the bed, fearing the eggs will dry up

HOW is that more dignified and "modern" than marrying someone your parents choose?

Someone will have to seriously explain this to me

Oh Nisha, you have to give up any sense or logic when watching reality shows like the Bachelor.
I watched a few episodes in the very first season for the sake of entertainment and originality but couldn't stop the bad taste coming into my mouth whenever I watched the show. My sister still occasionally enjoys the Bachelor but I am actually going thru a cleansing of all types of tv right now-my viewing has come down to irregular viewing of a few of the late night shows and that is it.😕 I mostly watch for the fun they make of Trump😆

If it was MEN that were speculating, worrying, hoping and praying and stressing and having panic attacks wondering if the woman will propose, THEN I will agree "Yes indeed US society is wayyy ahead of India, they dont have their mommies and daddies doing the match making.
Yahan to ladkiyan had se zyaada bhooki aur needy and maangu hai, why cant you let your parents choose for you in such cases?
Atleast you can avoid getting some godforsaken disease in some godforsaken place because you were hoping "he is the one"

The worst is an ad for birth control called Kaleena or something, where a woman begins making out and remembers she didnt take one, then they describe the drug to death and then the next scene, the woman is happy and smug as she walks into a restaurant.

Not giving one thought about the quadrupled risk of ovarian cancer because of taking birth control pills

How is THAT empowering women?

Why cant the ball-less man who wont even agree to marry you despite you putting out while being on a cancer magnet, freak and worry about wearing a condom instead?

I watched the first season Kala. I actually thought they will live happily ever after, my naive Desi backward 18th century brain thought that

They had sex as many times as they could🤢 and dumped each other.

So much for a 10 carat ring and a Eiffel Tower proposal. Idu daan India la youngsters a inda kalathla kedukarde, all this over hyped Western nonsense that doesnt mean shit

I am watching a lot of random TV today to rid my brain of Sridevi news. No I dont need her grief anymore.
She is probably worth a 1000 crores, her daughters will rope some married man or other😡

When I heard that Sridevi had passed away, unfortunately despite my liking her as an actress, it was very hard to forget the havoc she created in Boney Kapoor's first marriage.
I feel bad for her kids. it doesn't matter what your parents do, when they pass on, it is not easy to navigate the world without your parents.

True Kala, but Anil and Sanjay are alive, their wives are alive. They live in the priciest real estate in Mumbai probably with 24 hour security and armored cars and such, no chance in hell they will end up on the streets
These star kids willfully strip their clothes for the camera and Instagram. They willfully go to bed with producers and actors and lead the life of hookers. They could choose a dignified decent safe life if they want.

Sreedevi's mother pimped her. Much like many many star mothers. Sreedevi wanted her girls to stay away from limelight, she probably even shared the horrors of who all she bedded until she found Boney

Nope!!

Ladkiyon ko phir bhi wahi life chahiye.
We should save our collective worry for the truly unsafe girls in Delhi that take public transport at night
