Part 24:

The past few days have been best as well as worst days of her life. She, on one hand, was spending time with the family, something that she always craved for. On the other hand, she felt something major missing in her life. She knew what it was but decided not to think about it. The big thing was she was bonding well with her family. Not really, but it was nice. Her brother was really fond of her. She never came across her dadi much, infact she herself avoided it. As for her mother, they never talked much…just formal conversation…she realized that her mom was keeping herself aloof from her intentionally. It was ok…at least they were talking.

Kripa kept on reflecting, while combing her hair in front of mirror after having her bath. Keeping comb down when she raised her eyes again, to her biggest shock, she saw image of Angad sitting on the window, smirking at her. She turned around astonished…there he was, as handsome as ever. She walked to him to the window, cool breeze of shimla hitting her face. Smiling, her hands reached for him, when suddenly he disappeared. Whoa, she looked around confused. She was imagining him…hitting her head with her palm she turned around. To her greatest surprise, she saw him standing two feet away from her, in different attire ofcourse. Convinced that it was her imagination again, she shook her head and cursed herself for her stupidity. Ignoring it, she walked past her 'illusion'. Angad, who was expecting an altogether different kind of response, was amazed by Kripa's dryness…absolutely no reaction. When Kripa walked past him, he caught her arms and swirled her around, forcing her to look at him. Kripa stared at his face, her eyes widened. She touched his face with her fingers, trying to ensure that he was really here. "O my god, its really you." She screamed after feeling his features and threw her arms around his neck, not able to contain her excitement.

Angad, a little taken aback at her sudden outburst, hugged her back in response. Feeling his hand crawling on her back, she pulled back, a little embarrassed at her reaction. Pushing him a little away, she tried to harden her face and make her voice cold.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, her arms folded.

"Why, is shimla your personal property? Can't anyone come here for a holiday trip?" he asked making his way to her bed, looking around her room. Lavender dominated the room…lavender curtains and walls, lavender bed sheets and table covers. The color looked nice on her but white suited her more, he concluded.

"Of course anyone can. But what the hell are you doing in my house?" she asked pointing finger at him.

"O my god Kripa, after that extra warm welcome of yours…I wasn't expecting such rudeness from you. Never mind, the thing is me and josh came here for holidaying and since we didn't know anyone here, we called up Nisha, who also happened to be your neighbor in case u don't know, and she gave us her address." Angad said in one go, pausing to take breath.

"Josh is here as well!!!" Kripa said raising her eyebrow.

"Yes, in fact this was his plan only." Angad lied between his teeth, thanking himself mentally for bringing josh along.

"Crap, there goes my perfect holiday." Said Kripa throwing her hand in air, "two idiots here as well."

"You are so rude." Angad said lying on her bed.

"Whatever." Kripa said rolling her eyes. "Now get off from my bed and leave my room." She added, kicking his legs.

Kripa came downstairs, her hair tied back. Downstairs, she saw Nisha talking away with josh and Angad, all three of them laughing at something. Her brother was there as well, gelling up with them. Seeing him laugh, she smiled a little.

She joined them, taking a seat beside her brother.

"So…kya baatein ho rahi hain." She asked.

"Nothing of your concern." Angad snapped.

Kripa just rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest.

"Actually, we were planning on exploring shimla a little, tomorrow. And we thought you and Nisha could be our guides." Josh said trying to involve Kripa in.

Before Nisha could reply, Kripa answered, "sorry but we have some other plans."

"Plans??" Angad asked, cocking his eyebrow.

"Yes, actually didi and Nisha di are going to see a bird sanctuary tomorrow." Shubh said trying to control his laughter.

"Bird Sanctuary…how boring. Actually pretty geeky. Must be Kripa's idea." Angad chuckled.

Indeed it was…but what was so geeky about it. Irritated she said, "No body asked for ur views."

Before dispute could get fiercer, Nisha butted in, "actually I was thinking if u could come as well…it would be nice. We will be going by Prithvi's car in the morning."

"Do I look as if I am interested in birds? Sorry Hun." Angad said but added immediately, "wait, did you say Prithvi."

"Yes, he is here as well…infact he is the one who is taking me and Kripa." Nisha replied.

"On the second thoughts, it would be nice to see some typical shimla birds." Angad said, pretending to think hard.

"But…" josh tried to contradict, but Angad elbowed him and signaled to keep quiet.

"Fine…at my place…6 at morning." Nisha said cheerfully.

"6…but I dun get up till 10." Josh said making face. "We will be there." Angad said, eyeing Kripa.

"God really hates me." Kripa said throwing her hands in air.

Next day, all of them went off for the bird sanctuary, which was a little away from the main city of shimla. Angad and Prithvi had a rather cold reception and Angad ensured that it was josh who sat in front with Prithvi, while he sat at the back seat with the girls. The cool breeze of shimla, hills and greenery made there 6 hr. and 15 minutes journey a pleasant one. Kripa kept on enjoying the scenery outside; unaware of what was coming her way soon.
