Part 22:
Angad wake up with a groan, as sunrays filtering from the window troubled him and his head ache disturbed him. Holding his head he sat up on the bed, as his eyes fell on a photo frame hanging on the front wall. Kripa's photo, what a way to start the day he thought smiling and yawned widely. And suddenly it struck him. He rubbed his eyes to see again. 'How did this picture came in his room.' He thought and looked around confused. Not a single poster of his babe Alizee. This was certainly not his room; however it appeared pretty familiar to him, it was so much like Kripa's room. KRIPA'S ROOM. But how did he got here, he scratched his head to remember. He faintly remembered incidents of yester night, he had said something to Kripa. But what…something harsh he recalled.
Nervously, he hopped out of bed and went to kitchen where Kripa was busy in buttering the toasts. He came and coughed to get her attention.
Kripa raised her eyebrows to see him and resumed her work again. He came and sat in front of her.
"Ermmm…Kripa I was wondering…yesterday what I did…I mean I was not in my senses." He said pausing in between…keeping his fingers crossed and hoping that he had not said something very harsh.
Kripa ignored him and got up.
Seeing her getting up, he himself got up abruptly and added loudly "I am sorry."
Kripa turned to face him and asked coldly "for what?"
"For whatever I said…I didn't mean it…it was just that I was drunk and…and…I came her accidentally." He said.
Kripa looked a little hurt "u didn't mean a single word." She asked with little hope.
"Yes…none of it." Angad said trying to remember what he had exactly said.
Kripa sighed hopelessly and said "fine Angad…I forgive you. Now get lost."
"Ermmm…ok so we are friends again right." Angad said confused.
"U dumb moronic idiot…fine we r friends, now get lost before I kill you." Kripa said frustrated and threw a toast at him in anger.
Angad grinned and caught the toast "thanks…brush karne ke baad kha lunga." He said walking out.
Kripa shook her head and dropped on her chair, slapping her forehead with her palm.
The academic year ending party marked end of masti, after which students dedicated themselves completely to studies for a month in order to prepare for the final exams.
Kripa stepped in college and directly went to library. She went to librarian to enquire about a certain management book.
"What…all the books are issued?" Kripa cried
"Yes…all the are issued." Librarian confirmed.
"But how is this possible…u must be having atleast one copy. Abhi do din pehle tak to thi. Please sir M.L khanna is best management book, I really need it, do something." She pleaded.
"Sorry beta, but I just issued last copy to him." He pointed towards a boy whose head was immersed in the book and he was sitting with his back towards Kripa.
Kripa walked to him and said sweetly "suniye."
The boy turned and raised his eyes at her "kahiye."
Kripa rolled her eyes on seeing angad and cursed her faith that she will have to beg him for the book.
"I want that book." She said flatly pointing towards it.
"Well, can't u see I am reading it." He said.
"Angad, please" she made a puppy face. She was indeed desperate for it, he concluded.
"The thing is Kripa I have to study as well. And until and unless u don't mind sitting in my lap and sharing the book with me, I am sorry u can't have it." He said and turned towards book again.
Kripa stomped her foot and went away.
She sat in the canteen looking at nothing, when somebody waved a book in front of her face. She looked up and saw Angad smiling. He sat in front of her, and handed over the book to her.
She raised her eyes questioningly and said "what's this?"
"The book u needed." He said casually.
"lekin tum kaise padoge." She asked.
"I got book photocopied." He said.
"U got the whole book photocopied!!!" she asked in surprise.
"Yup, isn't it so sweet of me?" He said in dramatic way.
"Actually yes." Kripa said taking the book.
"Actually no. common Kripa I am no saint. I want ur notes of last week. Now." He said stretching his hand.
Kripa handed them over with a sour face.
Angad flashed his million dollar smile and walked away stuffing them in his back-pack along with the other copy of same notes he already had.
Kripa always believed that the students who study consistently through out year are the ones who succeed finally. So when Angad had told her once that he was ace in studies, she never believed him. But his dedication to studies at the time of examination came to her as surprise. He actually started attending classes. Besides that she came to know new things about him during the time. Like exams were the only time when his faith in god would suddenly shoot up and he started going to temple on Tuesdays. And not to mention what a great coffee he made, something she experienced when Nisha brought him along for group study at her home. A coffee that could even kick sense in a dead body let alone human beings.
Kripa, who was always a topper herself, first time in her life felt a threat to her position. But somewhere in her heart she knew that she wouldn't mind getting beaten by him, or may be that is what she wanted.
K guys, I got disappointing no. of comments last time. Even I felt that last prt was total crap. Besides I think readers are losing there interest in dis ff…so I have decided that in case I got less comments dis time as well I will pause dis ff or pm the prts only 2 interested readers, since there r not many.
