Wall paper...

He slowly reached for her hand, hers shook when he touched it

He released a grunt or a groan she was not sure which.

He caressed it it slowly with his fingers

They both were looking down at that.

"You have the softest hands" he said

Her face was bright red. He turned it palm facing up, and gently felt the center of her hand with his thumbpad

The tiny strokes making her dizzy

"Umm.." she "phhh" she blew air like a whistle

She leaned on the wall and shut her eyes tight too afraid to watch him do things to her palm, like glued on human wall paper

"You have another bruise?" he asked tapping the wrist bone with his thumb now

She opened her eyes and met his gaze

"I was cooking a large order at the restaurant" "I am not a professional" she explained

He held her hand possessively

They had never held their hand before, ever not during the wedding or any time after

There was zero intimacy in the marriage

"It comes and goes" she smiled disarmingly about her scars

"Huh" he smiled looking at her deeply

"There is one more scar its almost gone" she said cryptically, he was able to find that microscopic oil spill way up her arm the inside of her elbow.

"Here" he thumbed it

"OK" she smiled

"Do I pass the vision test?" he asked chuckling

"With glasses? yes" she approved

He laughed out loud...

"You are a TA arent you?" he asked still holding her left hand with his right (he grabbed the lizard with the towel using his left so he didnt touch her with that one)

"I am not a tough grader" she read his mind

"So its just me?" he asked

she blushed gloriously

They never heard the groan the grunt the whistling sound their breath caused

A gecko changed it all.

The name on her lips banned, came in shrieks

He hoped for pleastaries

He cornered her feeling the soft mounds of her palms, the scars on her wrist

Surprised by the attention the responses unrehearsed

The wave ebbs and flows with ease and grace.

And And And the Moment was right, the Approach so tender that makes you want to Surrender.

When I think about Ashvin and Trisha as a couple, can't help but make a connection to the gecko with its tail . Just like how some species of lizards that loose their tail can heal and regenerate, certain human emotions that fall prey to hurt and pain also heal and regenerate. 😊
