As they to a story there's always a two side theory
In this case ,we can only believe what has been portrayed
Ranbir left Deepika for katrina and Deepika did go into a depression stage
That is how she had invested herself in that relationship
Now even though she promotes her organisation she only talks about the battle she fought n survived but never the cause for it !
Cause no matter what once u love a person in life truly he/she would be an eternal part in ur life whether as a pleasant or regretting memory depends on how u make it
During the yjyd promotion there was some kind of awkwardness between them but during Tamasha promotions there was a certain level of comfortness n easy equation between them

Ranveer is a cool guy and as Deepika always says he's an emotional person ! So he knows how difficult it was Deepika to lead a life that she lead during her difficult times and even these both had some problems in n their relationship but survived coz every relationship has its own ups n downs n it's very natural

I am definitely intrigued by this plot. Please do continue. Interested people like me will surely read and comment. Those arshi fans who are against such concepts will ignore it. I am not interested about ranbir deepika thingy or love lives of celebrities as I don't follow these. Moreover, most of them are all half truths. But your questions on today's relationships are really interesting. Personally, I think most people will want to have nothing to do with their exes, esp. when it comes to the Indian crowd. If I were in such a situation and have a break-up due to whatever reason, I'd never want to struck up a friendship with him. Being cordial and friendly is entirely another thing, because you wouldn't want to be hostile with him and dig up past memories which might hurt you. So, maintaining cordiality is okay. And cheating? Well, anyone who cheats has definitely never been in love with their partner. Love and cheating never goes together. Maintaining that he/she has loved their partner even before/while cheating is preposterous. It's insulting 'love' itself.
Pls carry on with your story. I don't know about your exact concept, but since this is fictional world, I'll read it :)

Sometimes some relationships end, but it's up to the couple, if they want it to end forever or just change its direction to something else.

Concept is very intriguing.. agree many things can be explored in this three dimensional story.. waiting to see how you make this journey more interesting.. loved your thought and with you on this exploration.. well about the questions you asked I a tomboy in my teens or say when people fall in love never got into any relation then friendship and when finally had fallen in love, married him and still making his life hell.. don't know about actors as i don't follow their lives.. will be waiting for first chapter of the story.. best wishes and happy writing Khudha Jaane...!!!

Ranbir cheated when Deepika was deeply involved and looking for a proposal from him. So it hurt her immensely. But she came out of it.

As per sources, She doesn't think of him as a close friend at all. But has learnt to be warm and friendly to not show her dislike to outsiders.

Ranbir n Ranveer hates each other. Whatever camaraderie you saw on KWK, was all fake. Neither KJO nor Ranbir likes Ranveer and Deepika, and is same for RS-DP too.

The love that Ranveer has for Deepika, is just too passionate. When Ranbir broke up with Katty. He used to call Deepika everyday in USA (she was shooting for triple x movie). That time Ranveer got really hyper and worried. But overall he knows her dislike for Ranbir.

Ranbir is a known playboy. His mother wasn't fond of DP neither was she fond of Katty. But Katty had hopes that RK will marry her one day, that's why she put up with his philandering ways. In the end, Neetu's pressure made him break up and be rude to the extent of asking her to leave the apartment and when she refused, he himself left their rented apartment.

As for the story, i am not sure if i can read a story where Arnav n Khushi are ex and in relationship with other people.
