The calm & quiet atmosphere at the hospital's reception became somewhat unsettled when a vaguely troubled man stepped in, carrying a 6-7 year old kid protectively in his arms as the receptionist looked at his tensed condition and began arranging for him to fill up the formalities. He hurriedly filled up the hospital form within few seconds and rushed towards the elevator as directed by the receptionist, all the while consoling the unconscious child that he would soon feel better. As the elevator halted at second floor, Sinan stepped out and settled in the waiting area with little Orhan, looking towards the door after every few minutes to check whether there was any doctor coming up to his help.
"Sinan Abi (brother)..." The child tried calling out to him, still being in his same condition.
"Calm down Oglum (son). You're my brave boy, remember? You'll be fine now, just a few more minutes."
He tried to ease the situation for Orhan by gently caressing his head, though he himself grew annoyed with each second's delay as he saw no one there except for 2-3 nurses, who barely paid any attention to the unconscious child and continued with their work despite of Sinan's urgent pleas. However, his frustration was slightly lowered down when he finally saw someone approaching towards him hastily a few minutes later.
"I'm extremely sorry for the delay, let me see the child."
Those innocent words of apology sounded quite melodious to Sinan, as he moved up his eyes to take a good notice of this lady doctor but she quickly rushed towards an empty ward, tenderly holding up the weak child in her arms. He followed her in till she restfully laid Orhan on the bed and began checking his temperature, while he anxiously stood there beside the kid.
"Since how long has he been unconscious?"
"He was feeling uneasy since like an hour or before that... And the moment we reached here, he fell unconscious."
Sinan replied & went on explaining to her about rest other symptoms, though again he made an attempt to look at her, this time trying to read the little name-tag on her apron but he was disturbed by the loud noise of opening & closing of the door in a spur of moment as the doctor's friend joined her in the ward.
"Nilay, what's wrong? I saw you leaving the seminar in between..." The lady could barely complete her question when she already got her answer on seeing the child there, "Ohh!"
"It's a case of heatstroke. Look, how pale he has become, poor kid." Nilay replied thoughtfully, as she continued with her work, "I was informed late about this else I'd have attended to him much earlier."
Nilay didn't pay much interest to her friend's discussion about the seminar in which they both were busy before coming to Orhan, as her sole concern at the moment was to treat the child, though somehow this conversation between them instantly drew Sinan's attention once again towards her. His eyes looked upon her with a glint of elation when he realized how she was one of those very few genuinely dutiful doctors who give priority to their patients, despite of being busy with some or the other work.
"Dr. Nilay Sehin... Interesting."
Sinan mentally noted down her name when he managed to read her name tag, but not before making sure that she didn't caught him doing so and misinterpreted his intentions! It was a few moments later when Orhan was back to consciousness, though he still appeared weak enough as Sinan looked at him worriedly and kissed his forehead.
"You literally scared me, Orhan! How are you feeling now?"
"A little better. But I don't want to stay here, I want to go back." Orhan pleaded innocently to him in response.
"You little master, if you don't want to stay here then you'll have to do as I say, fine?" Nilay spoke up to Orhan, while she passed a slight smile to Sinan and then looked back at the kid, "You have to drink plenty of water even if you're not thirsty, and don't play much out in the sun, else next time I will have to give you an injection too."
"No, I hate injections, they pain a lot."
"So if you hate injections, you'll be a good boy & do as I said, isn't it?"
Sinan probably had no idea how there was a smile constantly glued on his face when he noticed Dr. Nilay getting along well with Orhan, and treating him with much love & care like generally a pediatrician should do. Yes, maybe she was treating him this way because it was a part of her job, or maybe she has actually been fond of kids, but whatever the reason was, he absolutely adored Nilay's softness towards the kid. While she indulged in a playful conversation with Orhan to lighten up his mood, Sinan's curious eyes took notice of her ring finger with a hope of not seeing any signs of her commitment.
"Hmm. It doesn't look like she's either engaged or married." He sighed in relief when he didn't find any ring on her finger, though he still couldn't assure himself about her, "Allah Allah, what if she's seeing anyone? I really hope not... Damn you Sinan! You first have to make a move before concluding about her relationship status."
He mentally reprimanded himself for making conclusions without actually knowing much about the lady, though his thought process was interrupted when she came up to him.
"There's nothing to be worried about now, Orhan is completely fine." Nilay said in her politest tone, flashing a gracious smile to him, "You can take him home now, but please make sure he takes enough roughage in his meals and drinks enough water, even if he's not thirsty."
"Tesekkur Ederim (Thank You)... Dr. Nilay."
Sinan found himself emphasizing particularly on her name, as she had her smile intact and resumed back to the detailing of how he was supposed to take care of Orhan's diet for at least a week and provide a cool environment to him during the hottest hours of the day. Probably at this point Sinan was stuck in between listening to the entire Do's & Don'ts for Orhan and observing those delightful features on Nilay's face that instantly caught his attention ceaselessly. That pair of big blue eyes aptly complimented her milky fair complexion, not to forget her light brown tresses which were loosely tied in a thick ponytail, and oh her lips! Though before Sinan could think further, he was taken aback on realizing how he felt a bit embarrassed whenever she looked at him and he swiftly pretended to have been listening to her instructions carefully, for this wasn't the Sinan who'd show such a reaction. He was always the one who'd make girls around him react this way, but here the tables seemed to have turned for him, as he concluded himself to be a gone case now!

Sometime later that evening, Nilay rushed towards her cabin after attending another patient of hers, and it would have barely been a few seconds since she settled relaxingly on the chair with her eyes closed when she heard a loud knock on her door. Her tired eyes became confused at that moment when a worker from reception entered in her cabin with a big beautiful bouquet of red roses in her hand. Upon being asked about the sender of the same, the worker handed over a small piece of paper to Nilay, who still remained confused, though she felt refreshed on inhaling the fragrance of those sweet-smelling roses.
"Hope you like these flowers, I just wanted to thank you properly for attending to Orhan & I don't think there'd be any better way than flowers to thank an amazing doctor."
-Sinan. :)
For a few moments, she stood perplexed on reading the note. Upon recalling about the kid whom she treated in the morning, she quickly went through the documents on her table and read the details of Orhan's form, where she smiled a little amusingly on spotting Sinan's name. Once again looking at the bouquet of flowers, Nilay couldn't understand whether she should name this as the perks of being a pediatrician or she should call it Sinan's extreme generosity... "Did he thank every doctor this way?" This unanswered question lingered in her mind till she kept the flowers back at its place, though being unaware of the fact that her question was soon going to be answered, that too by Sinan himself!

The calmness of each new morning was something which Nilay passionately adored about nature, but the moment she set out of her home towards hospital, that calmness promptly got engulfed in the loud, irritating car horns of numerous vehicles on road and she certainly couldn't do anything about it except to wait impatiently in the traffic jam and thinking to write a book someday with the topic The city of Istanbul & its Traffic!', for she wasn't too fond of the jam like various other residents of the exquisite city.
Nilay took a deep breathe of relief when she finally managed to reach at hospital after spending almost an hour in the heavy traffic jam. Parking her off-white shaded vehicle in the assigned area, she got down with her brown handbag & apron in her hands to lock her car, when an extremely alluring & cheerful greeting from behind instantly caught her attention.
"Gunaydin (Good Morning), Doctor!"
"Oh, Sinan Bey?" She moved up her gaze and found this handsome gentleman standing right in front of her, and with his most tempting smile it did seem as if the morning was actually good enough. But his smile became wider & more appealing when she recognized him effortlessly, much to his happiness.
"Ah, I'm glad you remember me, else I was wondering what I can do to make you recall my name!" Came a remark from Sinan in his usual breezy tone.
"You actually don't need to do anything, your roses did the work. I really wanted to thank you for the bouquet, though you didn't need to send that." Nilay walked forward after locking her car, while Sinan too joined her leisurely, not being in a mood to end the conversation with her.
"Of course I needed to do so, else how would I let you know that you're one amazing doctor? I know how you left some seminar in middle for Orhan that day. And I'm grateful for that."
"Oh, it's not a big deal. How is Orhan by the way? Is everything fine?" She asked in a slightly anxious tone.
"He's much better now. But why do doubt if all is fine or not?"
"Umm... Because I don't think that you or any other person would come to the hospital just as a time-pass or to have some chit-chat with a doctor, so I assumed you need some kind of aid here."
"You see, I can't stay away from this hospital if it has beautiful doctors like you. Or... You mean that I need to fall sick to get your appointment?" Sinan proudly seemed to get into his usual form of being flirtatious to the women he came across, this time slowly taking a step forward towards Nilay, who became baffled at his words.
"Excuse me?"
"Does it look like I'm gonna excuse you, Doctor?"
"Aye, seems like you tripped somewhere & hit your head on a rock." Nilay grew perplexed at his sudden change of attitude.
"Well, I haven't been able to concentrate anywhere else since the moment I saw you. So it's your fault if I trip & hit my head somewhere." He replied in the same tone, carefully trying to read her expressions.
"I think we should probably end this conversation here, it's making me uncomfortable."
Nilay tried to shrug away that playful attitude of Sinan patiently & sweetly, though he wasn't the one who'd easily let go of the chance to spend some time with her, and he'd gladly come straight to the point if making some cheesy remarks to her wasn't enough to win over her.
"Okay so how's this idea- You come on a date with me, and I promise not to make you feel uncomfortable."
"A date?" Nilay had her eyes popped out in extreme disbelief, for she absolutely wasn't expecting such a straight-forward suggestion from him, "And why should I go on a date with you?"
"I suppose a date is meant for two people to know each other in a better way. And taking you on a date would be an immense pleasure to me." Sinan once again gave his patent smile, which nearly became adorable to her, though obviously she wasn't in a mood to accept it.
"Wait a minute... So the bouquet which you sent to me that day was not to thank me but actually for asking me out?" She looked at him a little suspiciously, to which Sinan mischievously cocked his both eyebrows, making her amused. "I'd have rejected back the bouquet that very moment itself if I knew about it."
"But now since you've accepted it already, you can't bring back the moment and reject my bouquet...And my indirect proposal." He had a captivating smirk on his face, as he gave stress on the last few words of his statement.
"Oh, is that so? I think you better ask someone else out for your immense pleasure, because I'm thoroughly not interested. Anyway, have a nice day and kolay gelsin (Good Luck)... For finding a new date."
With those firm words conveyed to him in a polite manner, Nilay quickly walked away from there, leaving behind a little dejected Sinan. Nevertheless, even with that dejection he was somewhere aware of the fact that she would never agree to come on a date with him merely after their first encounter. Not that it was some kind of an offense to do so, but after having this short, abrupt but sweet conversation with her, Sinan concluded that she was thoroughly a tough nut to crack.
"Are you okay my buddy? Seems like you're too smitten by her."
Sinan turned back his head a little to give a displeased expression to Murat, who lightly patted on his shoulder and flashed a cheeky grin on seeing his friend being rejected by a girl, perhaps for the first time in his whole life!
"To be honest, you're right. I just cannot stop thinking about her, and she is easily able to ignore me." Sinan sulkily looked at his friend, who helplessly put up with his overdramatic reaction, "Dude, she's ignoring me, Sinan Erinc! I mean, there are girls dying to go out with me and here I'm dying to go out with this girl!"
"That's fine Mr. Sinan Erinc', this issue can be discussed later on, we should get going now." Murat stated, trying to pull Sinan back towards their car, "I mean I still can't believe you postponed the meeting just to see this doctor lady!"
Murat steadily drove away from there once he managed to drag his friend back in the car and resumed back to ranting about how they'd end up looking like idiots if the boss himself reached late in the meeting room, though Sinan didn't look like he was in a mood to listen to those complaints, since his mind was still stuck in the thoughts of his new found lady love and he began making a mental note of trying all those things that could help him getting her attention, and maybe a chance to know more about her.
On the other hand, Nilay didn't seem too intrigued by her little patient's guardian, though she remembered Sinan's words and let out an amusing smile, wondering how cheesy can a guy be. She certainly didn't belong to the category of those girls who easily become impressed by such guys, but for the time being, she couldn't even overlook how adorable Sinan appeared while trying to ask her for a date.

*A day later*
"Allah Kahretsin (God Damn)!"
Those words were exclaimed in sheer disbelief when Nilay opened the door of her cabin and saw numerous bouquets of red roses and various other flowers evenly kept at a distance from one another, filling the atmosphere there with its divine fragrance. She hastily moved in to find if there was the name of sender in any of the bouquets or not, when she heard the phone buzzing in her handbag. Still being astounded by the condition of her cabin, Nilay received the call at once.
"Hello?"
"Merhaba... I'm guessing that you must have liked the decoration at your cabin, doctor. And I also wonder, are these many bouquets enough to please you?"
"You.. Sinan Erinc?" She exclaimed in a mixed tone of uncertainty & surprise, "Where did you get my number from?"
"You're forgetting Missy that you're a doctor. And doctors have a visiting card if I'm not wrong?" Sinan indicated, making her recall how she handed him over her visiting card the first time when they met.
"Uff yaa, what kind of a weird stalker you are?" Nilay grew annoyed with each remark from him, "And.. What should I think about all these flowers? You've made my cabin look like a little garden and it surely doesn't make me comfortable."
"Well, I suppose you're mature enough to understand why a guy would send you flowers, am I right?"
"I seriously don't understand you."
"Tamam (Okay), if you want this to be formal, then, will you go on a date with me, Miss Nilay Sahin?" Sinan once again came up with the same question, though not being exactly sure if she'd agree or not.
"There you go again!" She sighed, "A date? You've got to be kidding me!"
"Why do you say so? Is there like a rule or something that doctors don't go on dates? Or are you seeing someone else?"
"Eh, evet (yes). I'm dating someone else." Nilay relied upon that tiny bit of lie, but in a confident tone, "Now please stop bothering me."
"Allah Allah! Such a liar doctor! You'd have told me about your so-called I'm-dating-someone-else' guy when I invited you on a date for the first time."
"I... I mean... I'm telling you clearly, I'm genuinely not interested in going on a date with you or knowing more about you. So kindly keep your flirtatious attitude to yourself."
"And I'm telling you clearly that I'm taking your rejections in an encouraging way till you agree to come on a date with me."
"Geri Zekali (Idiot)!"
Sinan let out a slight chuckle when he heard her murmuring those words to him out of pure annoyance before disconnecting the call, though he found her reaction adorable and innocent enough to sweetly keep her bugging till she actually gave into his persuasion and came on a date with him!
