Chapter 227- Laxmi Pooja

Everyone was busy cleaning the house in Varma family as it was going to be Laxmi Pooja in couple of days. Maheswari had asked everyone to keep their old clothes, footwear, toys and all to be given to orphanages.

Maheswari herself was supervising the cleaning, while Vindhya, Renu and Suman arranged the things that needs to be removed into various category. Some waste, somethings reusable, then things that can be given away to less privileged people.

Children were asked to take care of garden, while men had gone to the office and warehouse to supervise the cleaning there. Suman and Vindhya were planning to go to Rashee to clean up things there too. It was a practice in Varma house that after Laxmi Pooja at home, the ladies went to main office and drew Swastika there. This time the same will happen for Rashee also.

Everyone was in a happy mood. The election results has been good and it seemed Mahantji and group were not in town as they were unable to face the people post Setia's humiliating defeat in election.

Soon it was evening. Everyone came dressed in new clothes. Maheswari observed Sreedhar's eyes not leaving Suman when she came down the stairs dressed in a parrot green plain silk saree wearing the ornaments Rajasekhar had asked to get for her. Maheswari had a taken green polka set knowing it will go well with her saree. For the first time Maheswari saw Suman was silently blushing over the adulation she was receiving and was looking happy.

She wanted to be happy and yes she was happy, but somewhere the past tugged her heart raising questions.

" Maa what happened " asked Suman as she came down and saw Maheswari observing her.

" Nothing Suman. I was thinking my bahu is looking very beautiful today and let no one cast an evil eye on her, saying she took a bit of kajal and put a spot on Suman's cheek."

" Maa only she is looking beautiful " came in Vindhya.

" Well all my bahus are looking beautiful. They are the real Laxmis of this house " told Maheswari as she lead them to the Pooja room to perform the Pooja and the aarti.

Then the pooja happened, aarti was taken. Maheswari distributed Prasad to everyone. Everyone took blessings from Rajasekhar and Maheswari.

Now as was the practice they all went to the main office of Varma Group. Maheswari drew the Swastika at the reception and also in Rajasekhar's cabin at the appropriate places. Then she passed the plate to Renu, who performed the same for Tilak's cabin and then Vindhya did it for Sudhir's cabin. Everyone stood silently in front of Murali's cabin. It was also cleaned and Maheswari did put a Swastika for that room too and then she proceeded for Sreedhar's cabin. As Sreedhar opened his cabin Maheswari noted the key chain. The pretty Ganesha. She drew the Swastika and as she walked out she told

" Beta I hope next year my Sreedhar's Sree do this job and not me."

" Maa I am very young" told Sreedhar.

" What young. Sreedhar you are going to be twenty five next August beta. It is time you too are put in a bandhan so that I can be free" told Maheswari and everyone laughed and Sreedhar looked at Sudhir with concern. Sudhir indicated not to worry if anything comes up seriously he will talk to Maa.

" Rajasekhar one more thing. Please don't go and commit on any alliance for Sreedhar without discussing with me. You have chosen the three bahus of this house, I want to choose his wife " completed Maheswari giving a stern look to Rajasekhar.

" Maheswari do what you want.I am not going to poke my head as far as his marriage goes. He is your laadla. You know what is best for him" told Rajasekhar.

They came out of the main office and proceeded towards Rashee. It was when Suman was opening the door of Rashee Maheswari noted the key chain. She had seen it earlier during the opening of the shop but hadn't paid much attention. But now as she looked she realized it was the exact replica of what Sreedhar had for his cabin key. The Ganesha looked cute and beautiful. The same key chain. What did that mean. It required Renu bring her out of the thoughts and proceed inside the shop and draw the Swastika. But the key chain intrigued Maheswari. She decided she will have to search Sreedhar's room. Maybe she will get something there. When they came back the only thought on Maheswari's mind was how she could search her son's room without arousing any suspicion.

A feel good update but what's maheshwari trying to find out. She is aware of Sree and Suman being together before Suman's marriage so am confused y she's trying to search Sree's room. Couldn't she directly ask?

@Ria she wants proofs of them being together before confronting them. She thinks they are together but she has not yet got conclusive proofs. If she asks them before getting proofs if they say no then what

Chapter 228- The Musings

" Sudhir I feel we should talk to Maa. Didn't you see how perturbed Suman was. Yes she hid her emotions in her smile, but the silent tear didn't escape my eyes" told Vindhya. They were in their room post Laxmi pooja and Diwali celebrations.

" Did you try to get the information I asked for " Sudhir looked at her quizzingly.

" Leave that information Sudhir. Why are you so worried about it. We both feel Maa wants Sree-Suman. She likes Suman, that's it. You think too much" told Vindhya.

" Vindhya I want that information. Maa has very cleverly taken the right of choosing Sreedhar's bride from Papa. I want to be absolutely sure it is only because she likes Suman and nothing else that is prompting her to take a favorable decision towards Sree and Suman.

The way Mahant and people are running behind us and if we are faced with something like those posters nobody will be in the position to defend the family's prestige, honor and most importantly Suman's character. Now the festival season is done with right. Get your hands dirty and get me the information" told Sudhir .

" Yes festival season is over. But Maa is going to Jodhpur next week for Raji's wedding. Only we are going to be here my dear husband as Suman cannot go. They all will be gone for a week. Also Sreedhar has bought some passes for exhibition in Delhi in Dec first week. I have work related to that. But don't worry I will try to see what can be done. Enough of drama" told Vindhya, trying to turn her face away from him, but Sudhir pulled her in his arms switching of the lights.

" Renu you look very happy what happened " asked Tilak.

" Get ready to tie Sehra on Sreedhar Tilak. I am waiting to see Suman in the bright red lehenga with all solah sringaar" told Renu.

Tilak smiled as Renu sat beside him.

" So you also noticed Maa feeling happy seeing Sreedhar admiring Suman and Suman acknowledging the admiration" asked Tilak.

" Yes very much. Also look how Maa fooled Papa today. She has taken the decision and now it is only a matter of time before she manages to convince Papa" told Renu.

" Yes most probably she will first make Suman and Sree confess their feelings" told Tilak and they both laughed feeling happy.

Suman opened the letter Sreedhar had sent. The ink had spread and she knew he might have been silently crying when he wrote the letter.

" Sumi don't panic. Sudhir Bhaiyya has assured he will speak to Maa. We will tell the truth Sumi. Maybe it might take some time for Maa to give permission. But I am sure she will give permission. We have come this far. We will come out of this successfully. I will fill your maang with Sindoor in front of this world Sumi" [ Yours Sreedhar]

Suman hugged the tedy tightly. She had lost him once and she was in no position to lose him again. If that happens then that will be the end of her.

Rajasekhar had fallen asleep. But Maheswari stood beside the window looking outside. Yes it was getting very evident that Suman and Sreedhar love each other. But what was their college story. How come they both had same key chain. How in the world Suman ended up Murali's bride not knowing he is Sreedhar's brother and why didn't Sreedhar know it was his love, his brother was going to marry. She wanted answers for every question.
