But this is in response to your post Sri earlier in the day as to why every fault of dude is magnified but go mild on Mr.Iyer and also to the last verse of your poem now . I know that barb was for me and I have no problems with that.
Yes I train my guns for what dude does, very vocal and very harsh on him in general but especially more so when I argue with you in my stand I have no qualms saying that as I have always seen him fallible. I make no bones about it.
To Nisha's credit , she has never said that he's non- fallible. She has maintained through out that he's got major faults. It's us readers who parry taking sides who choose only to see a particular person's fault , magnify them more than necessary... and go soft on others. Both me and you are guilty of that .We keep justifying our criticisms .
On this that Appa is nothing short of adiyaal with a aruval but with his tongue( it was a seriously good jab , I enjoyed reading that... It was damn good a stab ...Ha ha) but I have this to say in counter.
Yes it was extremely poor from Mr. Iyer to not tell about the call to his daughter but then he's not a saint. It was cheap, so poor in taste and expected . But I also believe that Appa only repayed dude in kind .
And I'll tell you why...
I don't think dude made a call to II's parents when he whisked her off to kasauli straight from the hospital . Did he? I remember Mrs Iyer asked him to stay back in DII when he brings his wife bk from the hospital. He carefully evaded telling Mrs. Iyer that he will not be bringing her back to DII. Did dude not deny them that information that he planned to whisk her off that way. ? Right to information works both ways . Was that appropriate ... No.
Yes Appa is hell bent on playing up the differences and spews accusations but dude has not been this kid sucking a lollipop... Has he? Every simple request of Iyers for their daughter to have a single evening with them has been met with extreme resistance because of dude's possessiveness ... Tell me please why should I not look at it this way that dude irritated father in Mr. Iyer many times since their marriage because of his attitude and insecurities just as much as Appa irritates him at all levels because of his extreme bias
Some comments of Appa are atrocious beyond sanity and pardon especially with regards to the couple's choice of children. That seriously is not a territory he can get in. But the thing is both of them together feed off each other with their hatred, make it worse , Appa with his prejudice and possessiveness and dude with his insecurities and possessiveness .
Respect is a two way street. Both of them have not showed enough respect for each other... Ek haath se thaali nahi bajti... .
Yes the Bhallas have been very helpful to Mr and Mrs. Iyer but dude can take no credit for that. It's Ranjan and Sam and tan's credit.
Dude told II that she needs to check with Ranjan actually for bringing periappa home. That was the extent to his indifference to the same MM he grew up in...
If we hash stuff we will continue for ever. If we choose to pick stuff, it's never going to end... You and me...We'll have a counter for every accusation and barb we trade .
But what I see as a fact is this thing that we feed off love and we feed off hatred... Dude and Mr.Iyer choose to feed off each other's hatred.
