Shruthi, nice 3 parts. I could not post my views as I was busy with Diwali & yesterday being Rajyotsava day for us, I had some functions to attend and to decide about some community work like teaching underprivileged on week ends and teaching spoken Kannada to some migrated construction workers etc. For a change my daughter has joined me this year and has taken responsibility to teach English & maths to the kids of construction workers.

Will post my views on the 3 parts later.

Good Jaya. I am happy that your daughter is also joining you. Actually when we parents go for such community works, somewhere the kids will also start emulating it.

Yes Shruthi, it is our responsibility to cultivate such habits with our younger generation. This community service my daughter started when she was in class 1. I had to attend a government school function as a joint venture between Education department and CII. Since it was new year and she had no school that day, I took her with me and there we came to know that many girls don't presume schooling after 7th as they were to pay fee (it was to the tune of Rs.250/ annum) and the parents were unable to bear that amount and were asked girls to quit school and to work as domestic maids and earn some money which can be used for their marriage later. On hearing that, my daughter felt bad and asked me if we can stop celebrating her birthday with cake, chocolates and gifts to classmates and donate that money to the school so that they can use that to pay the fee for atleast 4 girls (it was 2001 January). So I had a discussion with the principal of that school and decided that I will pay for 10 girls annually and they will have to choose the interested and deserving girls to continue their studies till 10 standard.

Now since last 7 years, the same money we are donating to OLD age (as the schooling is free for girls till 10 standard now in government schools) along with the money we used to spend on crackers during Diwali. We will arrange for a traditional festive lunch fro the inmates on Diwali day.

She has been teaching English to School kids in Manipal as well as community service during her BTech.

@Jaya it is so good to hear about your daughter. I would say she was wise beyond age and it was good that you encouraged that habit of hers. I used to take my cousin sister along when I used to go for weekend classes to teach in government schools. Now my aunt was telling she is going herself to teach Maths in Government school as part of her college's community service program.

@Hemaji nothing happens in story without a reason😉. If going to Delhi there is a reason for it. Bro-sis reunion and all I wont give that fast 😆😆. None of Mahantji's cronies are decimated completely. And currently they are all together also. Cronies have to do infighting which will happen in this track, that is why I am telling some moral questions also come. As MA post is going for power which the Varma's have not attempted till now.
