@Beautiful when I conceived the story I knew only some details, but after following the hit soap DABH for close to 3 years and writing many OS, SS and a long FF in that forum I guess I got a better flavour of Rajasthani culture. Actually I want to finish this one and start my next, but it will take time. Maybe after SKR finishes and nothing worthwhile comes for long analysis I will start the next one. It is a story of Keralites but set in Mumbai.

Finally reached here. 😃

Will comment later. Going to sleep.

Shruthi.

I don't know how to describe the journey so far. Can I tell you I started loving the characters of Sudhir and Vindhya even more than the protagonists. With each passing chapters you opened them up so beautifully that I couldn't help but fall in love with them. They are like Diya and Bati in the true sense who willingly burns themselves to provide the light to others. You said this character is inspired from your youngest chachu isn't it? But I saw your reflection in Sudhir. May be you have imbibed what you love from your uncle and aunt. Deepest streams can have the smoothest surfaces. His calm exterior hides what he really is where as in Vindhya's case her chirpy and inquisitive nature hides her maturity and depth of character. Truly made for each other pair. And this nature of his is what is going to be the googly for Mahant and his cronies since they don't look beyond surface making him the perfect defense.

Sreedhar and Suman: what to say about this couple. Their match was made by Maa Durga herself to bring about the change in that society who ridiculously followed the customs and traditions to suit their greedy needs. Your narration was so beautiful that each chapter was a visual treat. Even the comments were saying episodes instead of updates or chapters. That itself is a big feat. Their growth from young carefree lovers to responsible adults who fought for their love to get acceptance from the society and family by staying within the limits set by society but fighting it from within the system was beautifully etched. Everything that happened with them have made them open up more to each other, deepening their love and understanding.

Tilak and Renu: The eldest kids usually are burdened with more responsibility along with the rights. But most of them even if they rebel are seen succumbing to external pressures more often than the younger kids. They will be aware of the deepest skeletons and fears of the family and usually goes on a guilt trip. Tilak is a lovely character who had the misfortune to fall in love with a lovely girl when he lacked proper guidance and financial freedom. His love for his family was utilised by his grandfather to let go his wife and his unborn child. His mothers upbringing made sure that he gave a name and respect to their relationship but when cornered to choose between his wife and his mother n siblings he forgot the same upbringing. He allowed the system to win because he didn't have a support system or more correctly he failed to trust his family to stand together with him. But it cost him dearly. He is married and have kids. But never truly happy. Guilty of abandoning his family and then being the cause for his bothers shattered dreams. Renu is his blessing to tide over this difficult period. She have stood by her husband and her marriage vows. Poornima a mothers trust on her husband will relieve him of a part of his guilt. Just like Anu, Renu also have never let down her husbands trust. By accepting Poorni, she is going to carve a special place in her husbands heart.

MV and RV: In a marriage when one person is emotionally stronger than the other one he/she have the added responsibility of making decisions thinking straight without the emotions clouding their judjement. It works if the practical and emotional sides are balanced. MV and RV have this perfectly imperfect balance. She is the stronger one but her upbringing was a well balanced one compared to that of RV. So even in those circumstances he have truly remained a good partner for MV.

VR and BR: VR is in for a rude awakening. The worst fear of dictators and oppressors are the revolts of the same people whom they oppress. He blindly follows the tradition of male supremacy because deep down he knows and fears their power and understands that he is weak. BR has suffered in silence all these years because Suman was at the receiving end. All she wanted was her little girl to be happy and as a mother she feels she failed to save her daughter's happiness. Now Sreedhar's revolt have given her hope. She doesn't fear now because she doesn't have anything to lose. VR is going to face his worst nightmare.

This have gone too long despite me trying my best. Shruthi, you have done a commendable job in the character sketch. They are all varying shades of grey not entirely black or white, be it the protagonists or the villains. It will be an understatement if I say I enjoyed the ride so far. Loved it.But now the problem is the wait.😆I was at a leisurely pace because I knew the next chapter is waiting for me. Now I will have to pester you like everyone else.

Thanks Geena for the detailed review of all the couples. Yes I know Sudhir and Vindhya will be liked as I open them. Because if you take epics yes the heroes get their share but the defense, defense walks away with honor. There is no Ramayan without Lakshman and Hanuman and there is no MB without Krishna. We all absolutely love them right maybe more than the leads. Even I enjoy writing Sudhir-Vindhya.
Yes Tilak -Renu I will slowly open. MV-RV they will balance it out. Virender Rajput wait 😉. Uska band bajna shuroo hoga 😆😆

Chapter 96- Welcome daughter

Poornima stood at the door of the Varma mansion. Maheswari did her aarti and put a kumkum tilak on her forehead. Renu did a nazar utharna. Then she entered and immediately Nami held her hand " Poornima didi come I will show to your room"

" Nami wait, Poorni, go first to your dadaji and take his blessings" told Maheswari. Poorni followed her grand mother. Rajasekhar was sitting in the arm chair and seeing Poornima he got up. Poornima looked at her dadu. She was apprehensive. Rajasekhar looked at her quite impassive. She touched his feet. Though a little curt Rajasekhar blessed her. As they moved away from him Maheswari told " Poorni don't feel bad about dadu's curt behavior. It is not that he doesn't like you. It will take him some time to accept things. Please give him time "

" No dadi I am fine. My nanu also had told me it will take time for dadu to accept me."

" Poornima didi come" now Nami dragged her.

" Nami take Ramya didi and Reshma didi also with you. Havent I taught you how to behave with guests" told Vindhya.

" I am sorry Maa" told Nami innocently and then she went and called Ramya and Reshma. Soon Aakash and Adwaith also joined them and the whole kid party moved upstairs.

Tilak was in hotel room. The final day of investors meet was over and tomorrow early morning he was travelling back. For return journey he had taken Mumbai-Jaipur flight as he didn't had the patience to sit close to 15 hrs in train after so many hectic meetings. One of the best things that happened was getting couple of retailers interested in their business. Yes they will have to work on partnerships now so as to expand their foot prints in India's industrial capital also the house of India's entertainment industry.

He switched on the television. The now familiar face of Shekhar Srivastava was staring at him. " Now let us come to the segment " Maryada ya Bandhan " impact. It is always said in children lies the future of our country. And today two teenagers Poornima Varma and Vaishnav Samrat made this idiom so true. Based on our story aired 3 months back on the pitiable condition of widows in Rajasthan and how one young man Sreedhar Varma stood upto it, these children along with Sreedhar Varma has bought about a change in the society. Today on this new year widows in Rajasthan were finally allowed to enter temple and light the lamp. Come let us meet the heroes of today.

And the image showed Poornima, Vaishnav along with Sreedhar. Tilak looked astonished. This girl was Poornima Patel, how come she became Poornima Varma. As if to answer his question the anchor continued " Meet Poornima Varma daughter of Tilak Varma and late Anusree Varma and Vaishnav Samrat son of late Prakash Samrat and late Manjima Samrat and of course Sreedhar Varma the inspiration behind the change"

The anchor went on asking questions and the kids and Sreedhar were replying. But nothing registered in Tilak's mind. Poornima his daughter. His child is alive. Anu didn't destroy it. She became a widow to protect the symbol of their love. Tears started flowing from his eyes for her. He closed his eyes and remembered all the moments he had shared with her from childhood. The love that blossomed in their teenage. The one night he spend with her. Their love didn't die. It was standing in front of him. Becoming his pride, bringing about a change. And how did it happen. Who made it happen. Who gave the child the Varma surname. And he realized who it was. The woman who has walked with him for 15 years, sharing his guilt, his pain and everything about him. He wanted to speak to her. But before he could go to the phone the calling bell rang.

When Tilak opened the door a host of people were standing " Congrats Tilak. We never knew you had a daughter"

" Your first wife passed away and Renu is your second wife " asked another

" Comon guys why are you asking unnecessary questions. It is a moment to rejoice. We say " beta naam roshan karega, but for Tilak look " beti ne naam roshan kiya hai ".

" Tilak it calls for a party. I hope you don't mind"

Tilak smiled " No issue guys. Come let us go down. You can take drinks but you know me, I don't take drinks "

" Of course you and some other people who are teetotallers can enjoy cool drinks while the rest can party "

Poornima looked at her room. Already everything was arranged. Her dresses were kept neatly in the cupboard. 2 beds were put. One for her and one she knew will be for Nami. So from today she was not going to be the single occupant in the room. She was going to share it with her sister.

" Didi you liked the room" asked Nami

" Yes Nami the room is good"

" Now enough room showing. Come Poornima didi, sit in our room. We all will play monopoly" told Aakash.

" Poornima didi he will always win in Monopoly. Defeat him this time" told Nami

" Come everyone, let us go sit and play monopoly" and they all moved to Aakash's room

It was close to midnight when Tilak returned after the party. He wanted to call home, but decided against it. He knew they were planning a surprise for him, now let him plan to surprise them.
