Very beautiful chapters. Last few updates with that kid Nihar I felt a certain sense of anguish... even frustration may be even a little impatient that the kid was not falling in line with the marriage plans and celebration ... blah blah... bones in the kebab kind ..inspite of knowing that he is only a kid aged 10..11.
No ...not fair to the kid but such was an over powering desire for suvi to have it smooth ... as if Nihar agrees then life is going to be hunky dory though nothing could be more farther from that.

But when nupur's parents pain and helplessness is felt... it twisted something in my heart... I almost feel like as if I want to rewind that tape of life and erase the reel which had Nupur die or erase that portion of the reel where rutwik cheated on suvi so that things as it stands today wouldn't have to be witnessed... no feelings betrayed as such.

If I look at this, It makes me question my own sense of empathy ...if Nupur's parents pain on loosing their daughter is bigger or Nihar's pain loosing his mom any lesser. It has to be weighed on similar scales and yet not... Such is the nature of fickleness that we end up being unfair to even children ...Huh!!!

Beautiful Nisha.

When Neel's amma says she sort of betrayed nupur's parents by hurriedly agreeing to Neel and when Ruchi in turn comforts her amma saying by according a sanction to Neel's choice , she had given him a certain token of credibility that would have been otherwise absent, I felt that if amma in her attempts to find a partner arranged for Neel ...had she been able to convince Neel for an arranged one ... woudnt it still be betrayal then...to nupur's parents that they had to move on? I also remember Ruchi clearly telling
Neel that it was his shaadi to do and his life when he voiced his concerns about amma approving .

All the gupshup that the random guests at wedding are talking is still fine. It's wedding masala current entertainment. Nothing more .Tmrw they will only give a passing thought that oh Neel... yeah he married again... . They are just minor pests in comparison to people like Ruchi's husband who derives sadistic pleasure and empowerment taking advantage of the respect one accords to the son in law of the family.

Neel's family ...They have come a long way now with amma comforting the suvi is beautiful from inside too ... yet can't help get a feeling that suvi ( as Neel feared during his Delhi ridge proposal ) is going to get comparison and competition with Nupur as her wedding gift ... the odds are that.

How can Indradhanush be anything other than how Nisha pens. It's marriage under not normal circumstances and it's bittersweet as it should be .

Shruti...perhaps it is the fear of my becoming immune to the happenings around me makes me worry more...I accept that the odd death featured in the first page of the papers gets a cursory glance as the head says, Oh ! one more and the eyes move on...
But the senselessness and the depths people are falling to is scary and it seems like we are regressing in times, as humans, even as we have a whole bunch of other discoveries to be proud of alongside

Bheeti ani Aasha

Dinner was served around midnight for the "key people" including the bride and the groom

Neel's brother had already taken off to the Worli apartment with Pushkar to call it a day.

Like if he stayed here longer somehow his wife's drone would capture pictures of him and relay to her.

Amma didnt know whether to laugh or cry.
She understood how much her younger DIL must miss Nupur, but Neel wanted to marry Suvi now

Silent satyagraha was unbecoming
They were making Amma cringe nevertheless.
As if all the drama will create energy to bring back someone from the dead...

Pushkar was an ass by nature, but Amma was a lil disappointed by her younger DIL
She had tried to convince her to fly out in the morning

But she had refused to comply with Amma's request

Saksham and Aabha were on Neel's side like a pillar

Aabha was struggling to warm up to Suvi, but she adored Neel

They were all kind and respectful to Suvi, they teased the couple and forced them to feed each other a piece of chamcham

Suvi relaxed for moments followed by stiffening and freezing up the rest of the time

The younger women, departed too carrying their sleeping kids

Pants, Amma, Ruchi, and a couple of Bijnore cousins were around to help wind up for the evening

Neel helped load all the gift boxes in the trunk of the rental cars

Many that cant make it the next day wished and handed over gifts

Mamaji and Amma and Aabha rode in a car with Neel
Suvi rode with Ruchi Mamiji and Saksham

The kids were already home and "Asleep" she was told

Suvi suddenly missed her apartment... the sense of dislocation frightened her.

She checked on Aadhya who slept between two 8 or 9 year olds. Completely fearless and happy, her little hand holding a tiny horse with pink silky tail.
She looked for Nihar, one rom was open a crack the night light was on

4 boys slept in various positions of disarray the blankets slipping off the bed

Nihar was sitting up playing on his playstation with headsets on

He looked up fearing it was Neel, and they both froze.

"Neend nahi aa rahi?" she asked softly

He quickly removed his headset so he could hear the question, flustered, regretting he was about to be polite to a woman who was going to take his Amma's place

He tried his hardest to raise his hand to wear it back on his head but could

"You cant sleep?" Suvi repeated softly.

He slowly shook his head nervously.

"Mera room mein aane ka hai?" she offered kindly

His eyes sparkled briefly, he even made a physical motion of pulling away from the headboard and the pillow, but quickly slumped back on to it

He shook his head... unsure... whether to like or hate her.

"So jao Nihar" she said softly

He sat there staring as she left the doorway, gently shutting it behind her

She changed into a pretty floral cotton voile saree Amma had gifted her in the morning
Ruchi handed her a tall glass of warm milk

"Bhai se baat karengi?" she smiled fondly.

Suvi smiled weakly

"Kisi ne kuch kaha?" Ruchi asked

Suvi's heart skipped a beat

"Umm" she wondered how to express it

"San khush hain" Ruchi concluded

"Barobar" she said

True Vani.

I have stopped reading the depressing news which appears on First page. Read the headlines and move on.

It's not that I don't feel sad or disheartened but I really don't want to be thinking about it all day along.

Bittersweet shadi
First word that came to my mind after reading this update.

Nihar, I am sure will come around. He likes Suvi but has decided to dislike her.

Really cute kid.

He will soon realize Suvi is good.

Don't know how he will or who can make him understand that just because he will accept Suvi in his life has his Dad's wife (and eventually as his Mom) doesn't mean he is betraying his Mom.

Beautiful update.

Nisha, have always seen strong Suvi.
I want her to lean on Neel's shoulder and cry.

Express her fears and doubts.

Not sure if it will be right and I know the way you would carry forward will be the best.

Thank you for wonderful update.

Two frame shots... one of Aadhya sleeping and the other Nihaar trying to get some. Completely moving.
One firmly in her childhood and the other on the cusp of pre adolescence but one who is still a child. Right from the moment he fears getting caught by his father for exceeding the techno gadget time limit to the moment when he exhausted from all the emotions he is feeling almost wanted to give in to suvi chucking away his loyalty and love for his mom... how many subtle emotions ... so tender and moving. Amma must be the most mentally tired adult having to handle stuff and her close ones here and Nihar must be the most weary kid with his struggles. For all his confusion , Nihar is still a kid who has been raised well wiith a lot of character.

We try parenting through power of parental authority sometimes or through the powerful bond of relationship. It's heartening to see suvi employ the second kind.

She asks Nihar to sleep but the question would be if she herself would be able to catch a wink of it. It's all pounding in but tmrw is another day on the brink when she will Barobar earn the 'mrs' tag legally this time around.

Beethi and Aasha ... so moving
