Shilpa... Read your post. If you ask for help, generally they are warm. But there will be a few who will try to hurry you up . A tip that might help...Don't get intimidated by people specifically on the other side of the counter when you go for license or other paperwork related stuff. If you face resistance or stares or confused looks over your accent or don't get your questions answered or they hurry you up to keep moving fast ... Stand your ground and take your time ... And you will soon see them answering you the way you want.
It's advisable to do a little bit of pushing back wherever neccessary.

It's going to be a busy weekend for me. Taken today off also. Birthday dinner at my home for my husband , a combined celebration with that of my daughters bday too in advance as she will be away from us for the first time when it's her actual birthday A lot of shopping for gifts and cooking and packing for her in the wkend . She is set to holiday on her own without us , her first trip alone out of the country. Not all sectors enroute she will get passenger assistance . So I'm nervous as she's 14, wading airports , managing her passport and boarding passes but she looks ready. She wants to do this trip. She has planned good stuff with her cousins including camping and community service hours teaching piano to local African kids. It's going to be one long month for us without her , especially evenings are going to be tough and I'm going to miss her terribly . She's been never away from me for this long, a week here and there may be .

I will keep refreshing for updates. Hope Nisha will extend some TLC in the form of updates. I am sneaking in a request here.

Responses and participation peps Nisha to give them our way as she's taking time out for us from her commitments and schedules .Our participation is her only expectation out of this entire exercise she does day in day out and she deserves that encouragement.

Kalpana...yesterday went well...had to wait a bit as there were lot of people. But the staff were friendly enough...couldn't complete the school formalities as there was no time. You are going to be busy with all the birthday preparations...dont forget to write how it went and all the dishes you prepared.

I miss id very much...missing the frequent updates...now only two updates weekly...i like sosy but more than story i like rb ranjan manya...but here more than characters i like the story...beautiful concept...waiting to see the kids get their happy and complete...hope to get an update..

On the bday plans, I've invited a close group which includes my best friend and her family since childhood days... With her parents who are visiting her and two families , friends of my husband.

Menu: veggie puffs , masala idlis , dhokla and a mango salad for starters . It will go late... So a bit more to the starters.

Main: Arisi kozhakattai and kutti Vengaya sambar, Thai yellow curry with Jasmine Rice..., also Thai noodles with stir fry veggies( with children in mind)Dum aloo and Roti , dahi vada.

Sweets: caramel cake baked by my daughter and I'm making badam kheer.

My daughter will be spending time with extended family and cousins . And with cousins she is exploring a few camping sites. Her group of cousins at all ages is very tight knit . She is not going to kenya. They are spread out in Southern Africa and JBG. She will miss us too but she is ready. Children grow up and it's nice to know that they want to be independent and she's a responsible kid ...Just a little nervous till she reaches. After that she will be under excellent care .

I dont how you will stay for a month away from your daughter...I would have freaked out...Wish her a happy and safe travel and very happy birthday for your husband and daughter.

Today there's kids pot luck in our apartment...so my kids are looking fwd to it and eat all sorts of junk food...went to walmart and bought some frozen foods for the same. They are also ready for sleepovers...I was just thinking abhi...aur kya kya karna baakhi hai...
