You are right about the lucknowi nawab setting the pace and Suvi not far behind. But perhaps even in the throes of passion her head keeps warning her of the pitfalls and stumbling blocks ahead.

Neel is able to live in the moment and presume that the future will sort itself out by steamrolling everyone's consent, but Suvi seems the more practical of the two. Her timing is totally out but her queries are pertinent..

And finally, I sense that she wants the consent and the approval of Neel's family, more so amma, this time around. Her last experience was furtive, clouded with her baba's disapproval and ended disastrously.

This time around, perhaps she wants to do it right by the book ?! Hence the constant deluge of questions burying her true pheelings underneath, though they surface soon enough when the nawab is in full action mode ?!😆

On suvi being the more practical of the two ... Yes... She got badly roasted...while Pandit's flying in the air atleast suvi has got one if not two firmly planted on the ground.
Yes she is very much asking the pertinent questions. As much as she wants everyone's consent... I have a doubt if she will get that if she runs it by her sister varsha... . We are not even done with Neel's family yet.
It's such a hard climb for her. Got to feel for her... Sigh.

And the Diwan E khaas was a bit of fun indulging in word play when I read about the rendezvous in the low Di'v'an by the window ... Just substituted the 'w' for 'v' . Was just having some fun ... That's all.

Ask as many questions you want suvi. She has been through lot. I don't want her to be in unhappy relationship. I don't want her to feel dejected after she is married. I don't want Neel to make her feel miserable about herself post marriage.

In case suvi has to face backlash of Nupur being perfect I would rather settle of not a happy ending for this story.

Preeti I feel the referred buyers remorse is more to do with conflicts internal and external and not guilt of choice as such. But it's got to be a test on their nerves given their family background and their personalities shaped by their experiences so far.
The family dynamics is going to be difficult to manage till they reasonably settle down. I'm with Arshi here as she mentioned in her post.
It's going to be anything but a cake walk.

As beautysleep said R&B is best example. He never regrets marrying II for a second ever. He is insecure that Appa might try and wash II's mind to leave him. This only shows how much he loves II.

But never has he made feel II inadequate. Even II has her insecurities she say that better she would have married someone like Bala but that has been in lighter vein and never seriously. There are no regrets about being with each other.

That's what I want for Suvi. Neither suvi nor Neel should ever regret this marriage. It shouldn't and won't be cake walk. They should occasionally tear apart each other when frustrated but never regret the decision.

If Neel regrets then Suvi won't be able to take it this time. They should handle Nihar and Amma by giving them time. Amma I don't feel that sympathetic for but Nihar is someone whose all concerns have to be addressed and he must be assured that Suvi is not taking his Dad away from him or trying to replace Nupur. I know Nisha will take it in the manner which will address all our concerns.

Well this is the only thing to "not regret the marriage"
And everything else does not matter
Every marriage has ups and down, fights, patch ups even giving each other a cold shoulder, or even giving space not taking etc etc
But never ever regret the decision
And as far as Neel is concerned I think he is not the one to back out or regret the decision

Varsha "invited" Suvi to her baby shower

Suvi had heard people having it in her industry but hadnt been to any
The invitation was glossy, she was barely in her 6th month, the invite was for the 7th month
July? Suvi opened the glossy invite the courier dropped off and flipped through the "events"
It read like a magazine

Tai came up behind her on the sofa and peered nosily

"She is having another baby?' she asked snarkily

"I thought you couldnt read English" Suvi snarked back

"U wud wish I am mute also" Tai responded

"That would be foolish to wish, I would rather wish u were living with your family" Suvi said impolitely

Tai had used up ALL the hot water in the geyser trying to wash up her pooja things
It was raining cats and dogs and the weather was bad... she had unexpectedly applied oil to Aadhya's hair on Friday night

The child sat there grimy and greasy and Suvi spent 45 minutes heating water for herself and her daughter to take head baths
It was the most anoying bath, with no electricity or water

Suvi was relaxing as fish cooked on the stove

The rain lashed outside

She wondered if Nihar was out playing

"Hope he is not wearing his chappal" she thought

Aai would always talk about a boy that slipped and fell off his stairs in Nasik splitting his head open after a rain shower

She wanted to check on Nihar
She hadnt sent too many comic strips to him since Amma came to town

Nihar had sent her baby pictures, she knew Ruchi was still around

She wondered how she was
She imagined Neel's house on a rainy morning, all of them curled up on the sofa
Watching morning television

The chef aunty making a yummy breakfast

Preet wading the waters bringing over bread pakoras

And all of them eating together and playing board games

Baba's relatives sometimes would stay over for 4 weeks during monsoons and they would do that

Only ludo and snakes and ladders but it was fun

Suvi went to the bedroom cupboard and pulled out Aadhya's board games out

Aadhya sat in a corner, her eyes puffy and red and watery, after shikakai powder went into both eyes

The water was cold and she had thrown a fit and Suvi had smacked her gently on her bottom making her sit properly lest they both slip and fall on the oily bathroom floor

"Will u play?" she asked her

Aadhya shook her head, playing on her ipad

Tai brought the invite

"If u are going book my tickets to" she threw the booklet invite on the bed

"Give me money I will book for u" Suvi said

Aadhya grabbed the card mesmerized

It had baby things, random foriegn baby pics and cribs and baby rooms

"Aai who sent u this?" she asked in Marathi

"Umm... Mousee" Suvi said unaffected

"Tai its so nice na?" Aadhya cooed
"Ya it will be nice, babies born to good men get everything" Tai said

"Get out" Suvi warned

Her phone pinged a text


It was Neel

"Does it hurt you say hello?" he demanded

Her heart thudded painfully at being wanted

She went to the window and watched a sheet of water sway in winds, hitting the trees like a water blanket


"Suvechha?" he called

"Neel" she said

"Ek hafte ka gussa kaafi hai kyon?" he asked

"U walked out without saying a bye" she said

"Teen din mere ko watch kara or lift chod diya" she reminded him of his cold shoulder

"Aap gusse mein crazy cheezen nahi kartin?" he asked

"Nai" she said

"Phir kab katin hain?" he asked

She smiled...
