Nihar got up frm the bottom step and ran inside no longer willing to encourage his Dad's idea
He hated the whole premise of having Suvi aunty stay over for ever to make him pao bhaji didnt sound quite right, even to HIM
It brought back the same discomfort of hearing Dadima use the word "shaadi" "shaadi" many times two weekends ago

He paused by the Naren Noodle comic strips and stared at them for a while

Walking out of his room and running away to Maneet's

Neel walked back into the kitchen weakly

Amma pretended not to look
Ruchi came in eagerly "KYA HUA?" she whispered

"I didnt quite ask him, just hinted... but he seems to hate the idea" Neel looked devastated

"To baad mein approach karen aap unko" Amma said handing him a new mug of tea

"Amma main yaha 6 mahiney to nahi ruk sakti na?" Ruchi argued

"Ek hafte ke andar aap shaadi taq ki ummeed kar rahin hain kya?" Amma counter argued

Neel squirmed

He wanted an outcome... like... NOWW

"Aap karengi baat?" he coaxed Ruchi

"MAIN?" she asked shocked

Amma was not thrilled to see him be so agitated

"Kaha kya aapne unse?" she asked sipping her tea hiding her expression inside the cup

"Amma yoon hi baat ho rahi thi, humne kaha agar aapko pao bhaji pasand hai to hum roz banwayen kya?" Neel said earnestly

Amma was heartbroken! Period!!

Nihar loves PAO BHAJI?

Her heart cried

"To?" Amma asked weakly

She realized her brother was in love

she didnt know how she would convince her Amma
But she knew Amma did not like Suvi and so will do her best to give credence to Nihar's feelings

"Karengi? Baat/" Neel asked overjoyed

He actually had beads of sweat on his upper lip
"Chaliye, jayen aap naha aayen... lets eat" she shushed Ruchi


Nihar came in 'Dadi can Maneet eat here?" he asked

"Ofcourse betu" Amma smiled

"And can I have halwa tonight?" he asked

"Aur kuch?" Amma offered

"amma pao bhaji banayengi?" Ruch said immediately

Amma froze

Nihar looked at Ruchi

"Amma will make it?" he asked Ruchi confused

"yes "amma' will make it" Ruchi teased when Nihar used the word Amma

"Umm..." Nihar dragged his feet

Neel held his breath

"Suvi aunty makes the best pao bhaji" he said looking at his Dad

Neel smiled relieved

"I KNOW how to make" Amma teased Nihar

"Can we ask her to bring?" Nihar asked "JUST tonight?" he finished

"For BUA" Nihar said running outside screeching at maneet

Amma's thick skinned resistance or Nihar's tender resistance... Which one of the two is more harder to Breakthrough? Sigh... Looks like Amma is the one who needs to be talked to first by Neel before he even attempts to convince Neel.

It is now obvious that he is in love with Suvi and when Ruchi can sense it so can you. Please do not use Nihar as ammunition and fire from his shoulder.

That would be unfair, unreasonable and unwarranted

Nihar needs time to wrap his head around what is happening. He will come around eventually, even if it needs all and more than just persuasion from Neel, Suvi, Ruchi, perhaps Preet and whoever else Neel can line up to strengthen his case😳

I'm thinking how can simple things like a like for paav bhaji become a wedge in the wall...
