Wet, gloomy and grey, that's one intense welcome. Thank you Manchester for welcoming me with such a warm hello.
Heer, had just landed herself in the city of her dreams. Or at least it looked like the city of her dreams in the glossy brochures and the fancy website. Coming to the best business school for my masters was her late mother's dream. She always wanted her daughter to be qualified and not dependant on anyone; like she was all her life.
Making her way to the welcome desk, dragging her luggage with her; at the same time soaking because of the crazy weather made her dread her decision. Okay maybe for just a few seconds, before she gathered herself and reminded her of her oh so big ambitions and desires.
Heer had her mind in the right place, focus and determined to achieve what she sought after. She knew what she wanted from her life.
Trying to take her check in- form out from her backpack she finally made her way to the welcome desk.
After completing all the formalities, she finally got the keys to her home for the next year. She knew her room would be dingy, but small was an overstatement for this room.
Well, I guess this was all part of growing up and having new experiences. Brushing all the negative thoughts, she picked herself grabbed her bag and head out the door.
She was trying to figure out how to get to the town centre to get all the necessities for a good night's sleep. That was all that concerned her at this moment, she needed to sleep. She didn't care about brushing her teeth, eating or surviving. All that mattered at that moment was sleep.
Frazzled by the confusion, she saw a group of people standing nearby. She could tell they were speaking in hindi. She found rejoice in hearing her mother tongue after 23 hours. That seemed like the only viable option at that time, to approach them and see if they could help her out.
As she approached them, she figured that they too were freshers who were as confused as she was. Suddenly out of no where, a guy interrupted their conversation.
He was kind of cute, okay who was she joking, he was really cute. Butterflies, ravens, parrots, elephants everything fluttered in her tummy. He started speaking and Heer lost her train of thought completely. Had she ever felt so fuzzy in her body?
