I was thinking what connects people?

Moments of happiness and grief have the power to draw people towards one another .Suffering is tough. Tougher environments creates strong bonds

Even with strangers during a journey together , train, flight or bus, common interests like weather , sports , music creates that link where you find yourself sharing convo for hrs together without even knowing the name of the person.

Here they hv quite a few interests/ pointers that makes them want to extend an ear to what the other is feeling/saying.
They have Aadhya and Nihar, strong interest ... Then they hv their office environment and the biggest pull, their own personal sorrows that makes them reach out to each other.

In a short time, how much these texts they hv come to exchange mean a lot to them is enough proof to that bond.

Pritee ... That's the reference from her expression of fear of getting lost in Supermarket ... Fear of getting lost and losing update mention.

Kathhal and Kachauri

They had the Paakh meeting Wed, he was polite but preoccupied, he was like that a lot
He forgot his coffee mug in the conference room a lot, Payal ran after him to hand it after meetings
It had pictures of Nupur and Nihar

He ordered lunch from the building cafeteria and it sat uneaten on his desk.
Nihar called him multiple times before he left work
He forgot when the cook had an off day at the service apartment in Nizamuddin and hence the jeera rice. He wasnt a great cook
He got by
Nupur was an excelent cook, his Amma (Mom) adored Nupur
She was still reeling from shock and was on depression meds
His Mom had met Nupur first and was blown away by the dahi vadey and kathhal ki subzi Nupur had made
His Amma had given up eating BOTH since Nupur was gone
He ate it at every opportunity so as to be able to detect that single flicker, that TINY WHIFF of Nupur's culinary marvel
But till this date there was none in the 100s of kathhal he had tasted

Nihar and him flew down Wed night to Mumbai
To surprise his Amma, bring her back if they could, before school started Monday
Now he had a place
He had made the sudden plan on Wed morning
Asking the movers to come by Sunday instead

The brother's family Amma lived with now was truly surprised

They were all crowded around the TV watching a soap when they knocked

"Jeeji Neel aaya hai" his Uncle hollered

Neel stood in jeans and navy loafers and a white shirt, he rarely wore tee shirts
Nihar hid behind him

"Arey rey, Nihar bhi?" Uncle hollered

His mother appeared from one of the tiny Borivili bedrooms

She was active and skinny, almost as tall as him

She smiled wide

"Amma ki yaad aa gayi?"

"Kya baat keh dee Amma" he touched her feet

Aunt ran inside to make chai, the cousin and his wife picked up newspapers from sofas and pushed kids like rabbits

The girls giggled

Sulekha and Sunanda Pant the twins were almost the same age at Nihar
They picked on him incessantly

"Maaa Dilli ke mukhya mantri aa ye hain" they cooed together

Nihhar giggled but hid

Aabha, Saksham's wife smacked the girls " Dadi ki madad karen aap" she ordered

"Garmi bahut hogi?" Amma enquired feeling her son's head

"Dilli ki garmi to ma khatarnaak hai" he nodded

Mamiji brought chai
Aabha bhabhi brought kachari and gujiya

"Jeeji ne chhupa diye Holi waale gujiye" Uncle laughed

His Amma smiled with pride

"Mujhse hafte pehle banwaata har baar" she said

"Aur mukhya mantri?" Sulekha asked eagerly

"Mukhya mantri to apni safed gaadi mein ghoomta rehta hai, laal batti rehti hai us par" his mother hugged and kissed Nihar

"Kaash yeh sapna ho, aur Nupur andar ke kamre se aa jaaye" his mother began to cry

Neel grunted and felt his vision blur

The room took on a quiet somber feel

Wow...that is so sad that his mother gave up on foods because Neel's wife died😭
At least Neel's family seems somewhat normal--unlike Suvi's. Poor Suvi😭

Wonderful update Nisha--and thank you for giving us Neel's perspective. So cute that he just flew down to Mumbai to see his family. 🤗

Nisha I really want to see suvi to happy in real sense.
She too has some memories which see can cherish like Neel.
Neel might lost his wife but has had good life when he looks back. I hope suvi to gets her share of true happiness. She isn't a bad person. Inspite of tai being bad to her daughter she still feels sorry for tai.
I wish Neel and his family does accept suvi.
Neels mother isn't typical mil. Hope she does play a Cupid here for her sons happiness.

Thanks for the respite Nosha
Lobely interaction
Never expevted Neel to be so cool about sharing things with employees.
And Suvi is drawing her lines as close as possible.
She does yearn friendship and sharing but again "log kya kahenge" stops her each time she tries ro move closer.

WITCH ka kuch nahi ho sakta ?????

The family looks really close knit. They must all love Neel and his wife dearly. I can visualise the hush hush around them.
Endearing and warm!

What comes across is Nupur was the backbone of the family when she was around.
Strong , independent, accomplished, and caring woman .
What a terrible blow it would have been and so the grieving also longer.

When fate has it's say, and when the woman of the house has met an early end, conversations on the future is gone, emotional anchor is gone, the cloth shelves no longer seem to be organized, food on the table doesn't come easily
And your support system that holds you together is gone from the face of the earth .

Atleast Neel has extended family to fall back on. A blessing in disguise , something Suv is not fortunate to have
