So this is a FF on our Virika. The concept is something I came up with during a conversation with a friend. I really hope you like it because this is my attempt to broaden my Horizon. Please let me know how you people feel about it.

Dressed in a simple yellow short kurta and a deep blue long skirt, kajal shimmering in her eyes and earrings dangling in her ears, Jeevika looked like she did every day. She had often heard people tell her that she was beautiful but the way she saw it she was just simple. She believed that people see simplicity so rarely these days that when they do they find it beautiful. Modesty, which was another one of her qualities, was something that she got from her mother.

She had finished graduation. She had done BBA from a small college in Rishikesh and now wanted to do law. But to get into a good Law School, i.e. to get into a National Law School she needed to get appropriate coaching for the entrance exams. After a lot of persuading Beeji had let her come to Delhi for a month's coaching in Career Launcher. She had to stay with her Mausi and her daughter Maanvi which had really displeased Beeji.

It was no secret that Beeji wasn't very fond of Jeevika's mother side of the family. Her parents had had a love marriage and Beeji had no say in the matter. Beeji didn't deny the fact that Sakshi was an excellent wife and mother. But she could never approve of her as a daughter-in-law. Or maybe she just didn't want to. Pride can be a tricky thing.

"Maasi! Mannu! Breakfast is ready!"

"Jeevika? Tumne Breakfast banaya? Kyun? Staff hai na. Yeh tumhaara kaam nahi hai Beta." Maasi berated her.

"It's Okay Maasi. I don't mind."

"Well I do. Tumhe kuch karna hai toh padhai karo. Didi would have loved to see you in a good law school."

"Maasi Yeh sab main Mamma ke liye hi toh karr rahi hoon. Sirf unka sapna poora karne ke liye yahaan tak aayi hoon."

Just as Jeevika and Manaswi were talking Maanvi walked out of her look, all sleepy eyed and bed haired. She rubbed her eyes and said, "Yahaan tak matlab? Kaunsa Antartica chale gaye ho? 5 Ghante dur hai delhi bass Rishikesh se. Aur agar aap apne crash course ke liye nahi aate toh main aapko Kheech ke le aati."

"Kyun?"

"Aur kya? Aapko mujhse milna nahi hota? Meri yaad nahi aati? No body loves me" Maanvi tried to pull out her puppy dog look. But by now Jeevika had grown immune to it.

"Nautanki!" Manaswi and Jeevika said in unison.

"Hahaha! Chalo ab tumne breakfast banaya hai toh khaa bhi lo. Class ke liye late ho jaaogi warna."

The Singh household was never quiet. And it wasn't just Maanvi. Her mother liked to talk a lot as well. Maanvi's father Bhaskar Singh used to be away a lot. So the mother and daughter had been very close to each other ever since Maanvi was a child. Jeevika on the other hand lost both her parents when she was just five years old on a fateful diwali night. After their death she had to leave Delhi and relocate to Rishikesh to live with her Beeji. But she had always been exceptionally fond of Manaswi and Maanvi. Maanvi and Jeevika had grown up in completely different surroundings but anyone who met them for the first time would never be able to tell that they weren't real sisters.

Jeevika was lost in these thoughts as she walked to the tutor centre. She saw a bunch of youngsters waiting outside the centre. Assuming them to be from her batch as well she decided to wait there too.

If I can get through a good law school I'll be able to get out on my own. Be independent. Maybe I can secure a scholarship. Beeji shouldn't have to pay for Law school. It's too expensive.' Engrossed in these thoughts she walked into the centre with the other students and took a seat. The girl sitting next to her introduced herself as Aditi from Faridabad. She had done her graduation in English Honours and clearly loved to talk. So much so that while Jeevika was sitting quietly and listening to her every word three more girls had joined in the conversation. Just as Aditi was talking about what a great weekend she had a tall, fair and beautiful lady walked in and introduced herself.

"Hi! I am Nidhi and I can be your English Skills professor and your coordinator. So in case of doubts or troubles I am the one you go to. Let me begin by introducing your curriculum." Nidhi had a wide smile on her face. She seemed pleasant and approachable. Jeevika had always been the kind of person to judge someone by the kind of vibes she got from them and with Nidhi she was all smiles.

"You obviously have five subjects, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, English, Basic Maths and General Awareness. They will be dealt with Mr. AmanDeep Brar, Ms. Tavishi Arora, Me, Mr. Pranav Sehgal and Mr. Viren Vadhera respectively. You have already received your class schedules and I suggest you stick to them. Every subject is held every day for half hour each except General Awareness. Mr. Vadhera liked to take his sessions for a complete hour. Also, while we are at it, I would suggest you don't get on his bad side," Nidhi said the last sentence in a whisper.

I know the title doesn't make sense now. but it will. trust me. :P

Chapter 2

Now our Mr. Viren Vadhera wasn't like any regular teacher. In fact he wasn't a teacher at all. A recent graduate from one of the top law schools in the country he was the best amongst the best. Besides always being at the top of his game in academics his extra-curriculars and co-curriculars, he also had a stellar record to show for his sports. He even had the young teachers in his college drooling over him. He was the kind of man authors wrote books about.

And for his students at Career Launcher they had never been fond of him. And that had nothing to do with him being unattainable to girls or too big a competition for boys. No doubt he was one of the most beautiful and well built young men most of these girls had ever seen and had cuts and contours that these boys could only dream of, but at the tender age of 24 Mr. Vadhera had been through more hardships than anyone could guess. People who knew him through school and college know him as the guy who was once everyone's best friend and is now a complete stranger. It's like his life changed overnight. Nobody could ever figure out how or why but suddenly the guy who they never saw frowning was cold and distant and always angry. However, even the mystery of this teacher and his angry young man behaviour was not enough to make the girls get over how unimaginably rude and unpleasant this man was. Everyone knew he would do great in his chosen field yet somehow he had quit his job within a few months and refused to go back to it. All he was now was a mystery to even those people who used to be his friends and family.

All Jeevika knew was that Mr. Vadhera was someone to be feared. She had heard ample stories about the professor who would insult you in front of everyone if you didn't know the answers to his questions. And his class wasn't one that you could afford to skip. General awareness was one of the most important and abstract subjects in the course and had no fixed syllabus.

The day went by in a blur. This was until the last class of the day.

"So who is the Viren Vadhera guy?" Aditi asked. "I have heard he's quite a hardass."

"I don't know but for some reason I am already scared of him."

Shreya who was sitting right behind them said, "Relax Jeevika! People like to exaggerate. I am sure he's not as bad as everyone is making him out to be."

"I hope ..." Jeevika started to talk but was interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing. "Oh Maasi calling!"

"Haan Maasi! .. Nahi Maasi.. Abhi Ek class hai maasi... nahi just one more hour... I can't he..." Before she knew it someone had yanked the phone out of her hand. When she looked up a tall fair man with deep chocolate brown eyes was towering over her, looking at her impassively with her phone in his hand.

Without a word he pressed the end call button and all but threw the phone on her table before walking away. He had not even reached the front of the class when her phone started to ring again. Without turning around he said, "You answer that and you'll never step foot in this class again."

Jeevika quickly sat down, cut the call and messaged her Maasi to say that she's in class and can't talk at the moment.

"Indiscipline, Indecency and Incompetence will not be tolerated. I don't give a shit who your parents are, how well you did in your college or which car you drive. I don't care if your mother is unwell or your boyfriend is dying. I want you here every day. If there is a day you decide you can skip then don't bother showing up again. Is that understood?" he addressed the whole class. Everyone including Jeevika sat there dumbfounded. No one could muster up the courage to utter a single word.

"IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?"

"Yes Sir!" said a boy from the front row.

Jeevika was taken aback to say the least. She had never seen someone being so rude and ill mannered. Even when Nidhi Ma'am was talking about Vadhera Sir she was being so respectful. How can someone respect him? He's so rude!' she thought to herself.

"I need everyone's attention here!"

Viren started talking about world affairs. The Syrian crisis. The coming up of the ISIS. The effect of USA on the global economy. There was no doubt that he knew what he was talking about. He was a smart intelligent man with an excellent presence of mind.

"I think he knows everything about everything." quipped a boy sitting two rows behind Jeevika. And even though Jeevika and Aditi barely heard his comment Viren who was standing three rows ahead of Jeevika heard him loud and clear.

"Well then why don't you give us a chance to see what you know about anything?" he glared at the boy.

"Sir?"

"Tell me what you know about the sudden dip in the Indian economy over the past few months."

"Sir.. the .. umm.. share prices were.. ummm... dipping constantly.."

"I know what was happening. I am asking you why it was happening."

"I ... I don't know Sir. I am sorry."

"Of course you don't! It isn't written at the back of Miss-Always-on-the-phone's head now, is it? Yes Miss I saw you sending a message when I asked you to not pick up the phone. Both of you, Out! Now!"

Jeevika stood up and looked at Viren in surprise.

"Am I inaudible? I said GET OUT!" there was fury in his eyes. His Jaw was clenched and his shoulders straight. He was a stone. No emotions, no weaknesses, no empathy.

Jeevika quickly collected her book and scrambled out of the class followed by the boy.

Please don't hate me for Making Viren this way. I promise I have a reason for it.

Next time PMs will only be sent out to people who like or comment. only because I don't want to disturb everyone with unnecessary PMs.
