As sunshine entered the room through the window, Mihika covered her head with blanket. She wanted to sleep but she couldn't, because soon she was disturbed by a sound in her room. The next second she was afraid that someone had come into the room and saw all those earthen-lamps, she got up in an instant.
It was Madhavi. But to Mihika's shock, there were no decorations around. Mihika stared at Madhavi as if she expected her to say something but when Madhavi sat down close to her, she was sure that the old lady had seen nothing.
"Mihika, kanna, had a nice sleep?" Madhavi asked her affectionately.
"A really good one, periamma", she told her with a smile.
"Now, get up and get ready. You have to free yourself from this habit of sleep till late."
"Why exactly?"
"Well", Madhavi took out a letter from the drawer, "It seems like someone is now a business analyst at Clements!"
Mihika's eyes widened and the next second she snatched the letter from her and eagerly opened it. And with a smile, she read it aloud to Madhavi. Madhavi was happy to see Mihika contented and this just made her feel that it was time that Mihika settled with someone she likes though she had no idea of who the person should be. Madhavi now felt, it was sensible to ask Mihika to get married.
"How on Earth am I going to do this! I have to reach today itself for the training session before twelve! And it is already, nine!" Mihika got up and her face perfectly reflect her mind which was worried.
"No problem, you get ready and by the time you come down, I'll prepare something to eat. Okay?" Madhavi told her.
"No periamma, I am really hungry, I'll simply brush and come down to eat first."
"Okay then. As you wish! Wait, did I tell you this hairstyle looks good on you because it really does." And with this Madhavi left to go down.
Mihika checked herself in the mirror, and was surprised to see all her hair on one shoulder. Though she liked it, but she didn't know how did that come up. "Abhishek? Maybe", but then she thought again,"yeah! Why would he do it!"
She soon got rid of those thoughts, checked her phone, only to be disappointed. "Extended the fast, ACP sir?" She messaged Abhishek. Then after brushing, she quickly went down to have her breakfast.
"I know Amma, Simar just cries in almost every other episode! This just irritates me that the show is so regressive!" Vandu's voice rang up in the hall.
"Well, at least she is better than Gopi Vahu who is suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder, since she married into the Modi household!" Madhavi told her with a laugh.
"Okay, now are we talking about television?" Mihika marked her presence.
"Yup. Amma, do you know what Mihika likes these days?" Vandu told with a smirk.
"What exactly?" Madhavi asked.
"She loves Pyaar Ko Ho Jane Do! Isn't it Miku?" Vandu winked at Mihika who narrowed her eyes at Vandu.
"I assure you akka, that I have never heard the name before!" Mihika sat down on the counter as Madhavi gave her a plate.
"Obviously! You have never heard the name! You know one name these days that is Abhishek!" Vandu said it the flow before she clicked her tongue.
"What?" Madhavi, shocked as she was, first looked at Vandu and then at Mihika with a strange stare. She could almost imagine Abhishek and Mihika getting married.
"I meant, those bottles of energy drinks amma! Abhi Shake drinks! What did you think?" Vandu modified the meaning of her sentence at an instant which gave Mihika relief. No matter how lame the explanation seemed, it was still an explanation.
"Ah! I love them!" A voice rang up from behind which attracted everyone's attention.
"Yup! Now he was left! Great, get in ACP sir! I am already being trolled, add up to it!" Mihika thought as she cursed Abhishek who had made his way to the counter.
"Good morning aunty! And oh! Vanduji! And... Mihika!" He greeted everyone with equal attention.
"Obviously you love those drinks Abhishek. I am not shocked. Are you shocked Miku?" Vandu went ahead to make the most of the situation.
"By ACP sir's sudden appearance? Yes I am!" Mihika answered smartly, to change the topic of discussion.
"I feel a traditional drink is better than energy drinks!" Madhavi remarked as she mixed honey in water and added some lemons to it.
"Well, periamma, I'll go and change!" Mihika stood to leave and as her eyes met Abhishek's, she teased him as if celebrating her victory.
But before she could fly away like a free bird, Vandu held her hand and made here sit,"Come on Miku! Look ACP sir is here to investigate your case, I mean to investigate a case in our buliding! Go help him!"
"I would have loved to akka but I have to get ready!" Mihika smiled though she was irritated.
"Oh! I can investigate myself, but Mihika make sure you are wearing all that jewellery you were wearing last night, for it seems someone has stolen jewellery of many!" Abhishek told Mihika with a nod.
Mihika first couldn't understand but then she checked both her ears, and to her shock, the left ear (which was covered by her hair), did not have the earring she was wearing last night! She eyes met with Abhishek's who signalled her to look at his hand which held her earring.
