Part 4

The Warehouse

Taani was amazed that she had fallen asleep, the room she was staying in was hard there was nothing except for walls... she was sitting on the floor, she remembered when Rey had walked her to the room, his hold on her was becoming less and less... as we walked away from his accomplices... he let her go through first...

We looked at each other and my heart was fluttering again...

"What's your name?" he asked... I looked into his eyes, I wanted to tell him the truth, but I knew I couldn't trust him... not now...

"Priya!" I had replied that was my undercover name... if he checked it, it would say I am Sandra's cousin... I had made up a simple background check for myself, when I went undercover to become Sandra's protector...

"Ok.. Priya... any trouble... and I won't think twice about killing you!" He warned...I nodded... He then left... and I settled down... I don't think he would kill me... he had a hundred chances to kill me...his friends want me dead... but he hasn't killed me... it doesn't mean that he won't do it.. if I am a threat to them...

I was still thinking about last night when I heard someone trying to open the door... my hands were still tied and this made me feel weak... the door opened... it was Rey... he looked at me sitting on the floor... In his hands had some food... not the best but a little bit of food... I hadn't realised how hungry I was... I don't even remember the last time I ate...

"Eat..." He said placing the plate on the floor... With a look at me he was about to exit the room...

"Wait!" I called and he looked back at me...

"How am I supposed to eat?" I asked looking back at my hands...

Rey walked towards me... he bent down and took out a knife... I looked at him as he cut the rope that was holding my hands together... he felt my gaze on him and looked back at me... we were close and I can feel his breath against mine... I closed my eyes as he moved closer...

"Rey!" Someone called... Rey moved back and I opened my eyes... "Eat!" He repeated... and without another look at me he left... locking the doors behind him...

My heart was accelerating... my hands were still behind me... but there was nothing holding them together... I slowly brought my hands forwards and massaged my hands... the ropes had bruised my wrists... and there was an imprint in my hands...

The Precinct

Khushi entered the Precinct, she had called Arnav last night but he had avoided all of her calls, she decided as soon as she can get some information on Taani's whereabouts she will head straight to tell Arnav!...

"Khushi!" Zoya called... Khushi looked around...

"How's Arnav, Arjun told me he was taken off of the case!" Zoya said, as he and Khushi walked towards their desks...

"Yeh, I haven't heard from him... what did you find out from Sandra?" Khushi asked...

"Not much, like I said she was drunk!"Zoya started...

"She must have remembered something!" Khushi sighed...

"She did say she remembered Taani dancing with a guy, but she was to thirsty.. and needed a drink!" Zoya...

"A guy? Why would Taani be dancing with a guy when she was on duty?" Khushi asked...

"No idea... but you know Taani she has a thing for hot guys!" Zoya said...

"Did she see what he looks like?" Khushi asked...

"She said he was tall... but when she got closer to get Taani to get her a drink, he had gone.."Zoya said.."Do you think he might have been one of the masked men?"Zoya asked

"Might have been... else why would he disappear?" Khushi wondered...

"But why?" Zoya wondered...Khushi looked at her

"What?" Khushi wondered...

"Why Taani? I mean what is the connection between Mr Abhijeet Sarin and Taani? It doesn't make sense... and it looks like they were after Taani because... that guy was with her before the shooting..."Zoya explained...

"I might be able to answer that!" Arjun said coming towards them...

"What do you have?" Khushi asked...

"Security..."Arjun said showing pictures... "Look at these pictures..." He said showing them pictures of the entrance of the plaza...There was Taani standing very close to a man but the picture was zoomed in his face was blurry...

"That's Taani... it's the same dress from the security footage... and that must be the guy..." Arjun said pointing at the guy...

"What were you saying about security?" Khushi asked

"Every invited guest was allowed in without security check, those who were not invited but were allowed in was sent to get a security check... those masked men had guns... how did they get pass security?" Arjun said...

"They must have placed the guns, in other people's bags... so that when they were checked they would be clean..." Khushi finished...

"Bingo!!"Arjun smiled..."He must have placed his gun in Taani's bag... so that when he had to go through checks he was clean.." Arjun explained...

"That was why he disappeared when they were dancing... because he must have taken the gun from her bag..."Zoya said...

"Khushi, Arjun, Zoya get in here!! "The captain yelled... The three of them looked around

"Will it kill him to say please..." Zoya grumbled...

"That will be the day!!" Arjun replied Khushi smiled, but she then remembered Arnav and she realised how much she missed him...

They filled into the Captain's office...

"What's wrong sir?" Khushi asked...

"We found Mr Abjhieets Sarins body..." The captain said gravely...

"How did you find it..?" Arjun asked...

"I had one of my men try to track Taani's phone..." The Captain started...

"It was unreachable I tracked it yesterday..." Arjun said...

"Will you let me continue?" The Captain said...

"Sorry sir... "Arjun said...

"I had someone track Taani's phone, and this morning we was able to track it... it led us straight to the body..." The Captain said...

"And Taani?" Khushi asked...

"No sign... it looks like they wanted us to find the body... with the body was this note..." The Captain said... he gave them the note...

"Next up Rahul Arora"

"Rahul Arora! He is also a big Fashion Designer..." Khushi said

"Why are they killing these Fashion designers?" Zoya asked...

"I don't know... but you need to find out what these fashion designers have in common that someone could kill them for..." The Captain explained...

Just then another officer came in...

"Sir, they have followed the tracks from where we found Mr Abhijeet's body, it leads to the abandoned warehouses at the edge of the city..."The officer said...

"Khushi..." The Captain said...

"Got it Sir," Khushi said leading the way out of the room,

"Zoya, find out what you can, that links Abhijeet Sarin and Rahul Arora, Arnav and I will check out the warehouse..." Khushi said...

"Arjun! My name is Arjun!" Arjun said with a smile...

"That's what I said..." Khushi said... Zoya left them, a few officers were waiting at the entrance to accompany Khushi and Arjun to the warehouse...

Khushi and Arjun got into the car, little did they know that someone was following them...
