Part 18

" Arre Khushi, where are you lost? Chill Maar Na, I am sure everything will fall back to place. I can't see you so sad, re. Please smile kar do." Lavanya tried making Khushi smile but it was as if all the 'Khushi' of Khushi's life had left her at once as she saw her sister's tear-strained pale and lifeless face along with her mother's extremely hurt face in the morning before she came to college.

" How can I chill when Mumma and Jiji are so sad, Lav? And moreover I am in dilemma if Arnav is actually as bad as I think him to be or not. But I know it for sure that Jiji's marriage issue has become even more bigger just due to Arnav. " Khushi explained as she stared at the blue sky where white clouds were spread, looking for answers.

"Aunty and Jiji will be perfectly fine and I assure you that. And of Arnav, yaar I think he is really and genuinely heads over heels in love with you. I mean he is trying to placate you so badly and this condition was really not in his hands, Khush. You know he called me to ask what would lighten your mood up. He really cares for you so much aur Itna Cute, Itna Handsome Hai Yaar. Tum Maan Kyon Nahi Jaati?" Lavanya questioned with a smile on her face, while Khushi's expressions changed to that of anger. She can never accept a marriage which was nothing but an act of revenge and a prank.

"Nahi,Fraud Hai Woh Ek Number Ka. Aur Itna Achcha Lagta Hai Tujhe To Tu Hi Rakh Le Usse. Main Jaa Rahi Hoon." Khushi walked to the bill-counter ignoring the calls of Lavanya from behind to pay the bill for the juice and snacks they had.

" Uncle, Kitna Hua?" Khushi asked while opening her purse with irritated expressions on her face as she was unable to find any notes of denominations 100 and 50.

" Rs. 100, Beta."

Khushi looked up with a smile on her face as she searched for money and finally got it while suddenly a hand gave a 100 rupee note to the uncle, who looked at her questioningly.

Khushi turned to see the person who had paid on her behalf to find Arnav Singh Raizada in front of her. Khushi's mouth opened to form a perfect O-shape while she questioned with her hands what was happening as she was already irritated with him as Lavanya took his side rather than hers.

" Haq Banta Hai, Pati Hoon Tumhara." Arnav exclaimed proudly while Khushi's eye threw daggers at him with her sharp looks as she banged the 100 rupee note on the counter while saying,

" Khel Khel Mein Hui Shaadi Ko Main Shaadi NAHI MANTI!" Khushi turned around on her heels and began walking while Arnav ran behind her to stop her. The problems in between both of them had caused a profit for the shop-keeper who made a profit of 100 rupees for free.

" Khushi, stop! Where are you going?" Arnav questioned her as walked beside her with great difficulty as Khushi had unusually long strides.

"I'll go wherever I want, what is your problem?" Khushi questioned in an irritated tone while she didn't stop walking as tried to find an auto to reach home. She tried stopping an auto, but Arnav signed from behind asking the Auto-wale Bhai Sahab to go.

" Khushi, I have my car with me. We are going to the same place so why do we need two different means of transport?" Khushi stopped looking around for Autos and looked at him with fury burning in her eyes.

" I thought that you were smart but I was wrong. Listen Mr.Arnav Singh Raizada, our destination might be the same but our ways can never be. We can walk together on the same road but can never be together. You get that?" There were streaks of pain, anger and hatred in her voice as it pulled the strings of his heart to play a despaired tune.

" Khushi, there is something important which I have to tell you." Arnav spoke in a meek and hurt tone while it didn't affect Khushi, whose family reputation had been tainted by the taunts of the society due to Arnav. People who used to respect her earlier were now pointing at her as the girl in the prank marriage video.

" I have no interest in your talks, and the sooner you understand the better it is." Arnav ignored her sentence royally and spoke,

" We are leaving for Lucknow tomorrow along with Bhai and Bhabhi. Nani wants to meet all the four of us. "

" How did you even think that I will accompany you, Arnav? I am not coming. I have given an audition few days back and I am waiting for them to call me to cast me into their film. My career matters everything to me and definitely much more than you. So I cannot come, sorry to disappoint. And I am leaving from here too. This Auto Bhaiyya didn't see your hand signs, sadly." Khushi taunted him in every possible way, as the way she had given her audition came in front of her eyes as she got seated in the Auto and gave the directions to him.

--FLASHBACK--

" Khushi beta, you are now married. You cannot act anymore. Your husband and your married life should mean everything to you." Khushi shut the auditorium door with a thud as she saw her mother there advising her not to give the audition. Garnering courage, she opened the door again but this time it was their neighbor Kamala Behen who was approaching her as she mouthed,

" What are you doing Khushi Bitiya? Acting doesn't suit married women. Leave all these brainless things and go serve your husband as you take care of your married life." Khushi shut her eyes tightly as she closed her ears with her palms while her eyes got filled with warm tears as all the things which people would tell her were coming in front of her eyes.

Consoling herself, Khushi opened her eyes and took hands off her ears and started walking towards the stage, while Arunima or rather a hallucination of hers stopped in her in the mid-way much to her shock.

" Bahu, your place is not here in the auditorium. It is in your husband's place. Your job should not be acting. It should be taking care of your husband and his family."

More tears escaped her eyes destroying her makeup, while Khushi moved away from it while composing herself with great difficulty. She bent down to touch the ground and take its blessings as she got on to the stage while suddenly she saw a pair of feet in front of her, which made her look up to see herself face-to-face with Arnav Singh Raizada, who was flirtatiously smiling at her.

" Oye Meri Angry Bird, why are you touching my feet? You don't need to do that because these days whatever you are doing becomes my favorite. After all Pyaar Jo Hua Hai Tumse." Khushi stumbled back, while darkness befell around her. It was not the darkness which surrounded her, but it was the darkness of pain which was ruling her mind, heart and soul completely.

" Khushi Bete, don't think of anything. Just give your best. Iss Tedi Nazar Waali Duniya Ke Liye Apni Nazarein Mat Jukhao, Bete." Suddenly her father's voice fell on her ears, while a smile played on her face and motivation to give her best to the audition developed in her heart. Ignoring every word which was resonating in her ears, Khushi gave her best and impressed the judges there completely.

" Madam Ji, Aap Ka Stop Aa Gaya." Driver's words brought Khushi back to the reality as she realized that unknowingly tears had flown out of her eyes. The way every women of their society taunted her and her mother about her accidental marriage, as they had seen the video which went viral on the net, was the reason why Khushi was so deeply in pain and unable to even think of giving Arnav a chance.

Will Khushi ever be able to overcome this pain?
