I am really sorry about this story. I haven't written an update for year and a half. I honestly did not know where I was talking it. My aim was to write an ending but me being me I haven't. I have written a new part though. For those that did not read my original story, here is the link. https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/fan-fictions/3607470/ss-two-tales-updated-pg-48-18-1-14

A brief synopsis

The characters were taken from Ek Hazarron mein meri Behna hai. Jeevika, Viren, Maanvi and Virat. But the characters in my story have no resembles to them. In actual fact you could change their names and it would even be linked to the show.

In short

Jeevika and Maanvi are sisters. Jeevika long time boyfriend was Viren. She had kidney disease and had an transplant and later married said boyfriend. Their marriage had its ups and downs but overall they were happy until Jeevika suffered a late in pregnancy miscarriage. Maanvi started seeing Virat. They were both in love and on the verge of getting married until Virat's jealousy was much too much for her to handle. After separating her found herself pregnant a detail she did not share with Virat until she was quite far along. They have a son called Laksh and have been trying to raise him together but not as a couple.

That was a very brief and not so great summary of my SS.

Part 31

It had been months since the death of their first child and on the surface everything seemed fine and as a couple they felt they were but as people, it was another story.

Suddenly Jeevika felt a pull below her, "Masi," Laksh's little voice woke her up as she leant forward he began to run away. There were moments when she forgot everything then all of a sudden things came flooding back and it was the same with Viren. Grief isn't something that one forgets you simply get better at dealing with it. Maanvi had become quiet adept in figuring out her sister. One evening Laksh laid on his masis lap and had fallen asleep when Maanvi walked in looking for her monkey. Instead she saw, he son fast asleep as Jeevika gently patted him. Before long, Viren picked him up and placed him in his bed. She watched as their bonded over Laksh but saw how without knowing she had been grazing their wounds further.

Maanvi and Laksh moved out of Jeevika and Viren's place. They had found a small place between Jeevika's and Virat's. Life went back to normal. Jeevika and Viren went back to work and Maanvi returned but part time.

Her first few days at work were the hardest. She called her childminder too many times. She knew that she was over thinking it but she couldn't help it. This was the first time she had left Laksh in the care of someone that wasn't family. She was bound to feel anxious. However, the moment she picked him up made it for her.

A few months later.

Virat let himself into Maanvi flat. Hearing the sound of screams, he headed to the bedroom. Unable to find Maanvi, he picked Laksh. He tried to calm to, while trying to shout for Maanvi. However, his shouts simply aggrieved his son, who just became louder. After a moment, Laksh quieted down as Maanvi walked in.

"Where were you?"

"How did you?" Maanvi looked confused at seeing Virat putting Laksh down with his toys.

"Maanvi, our son was screaming at the top of his lungs and you were nowhere to be seen. I think that is the more important question!" His harsh tone spoke more than anything. Rolling her eyes, she snorted before leaving the room.

"Hello," he followed her out as he felt as if she was making him out to be invisible. As caring that your child who was crying is a crime.

She turns away from him, "Virat I'm not arguing with you. You turn up randomly after three weeks and start,"

"Start what Maanvi! He was baling his eyes out,"

"Yes Virat I'm a terrible mother. I got your point, now leave." However, Virat was not going to leave. Over the last few months Virat's behaviour had become erratic. He wasn't the same man and not just with Maanvi but also with Laksh. It started with small things, turning up a little late to pick him up from Maanvi's. Later he began cancelling at the last moment then finally he not turn up. This became worse once Maanvi had started back at work, which made timetabling him problematic.

"Seeing as you agree," Virat began to walk towards Laksh's door. Maanvi stood half way between him and the door.

"Are you in your right mind? Laksh was crying because he had a temper tantrum as he didn't get what he wanted. I wasn't going to indulge that." He continued to step forward as her deepest fears were coming alive.

"Virat stop!

You haven't seen or spoken to your son in weeks and today you turn up and what? You're going to take him from me?" Virat stood there silent, "I don't know what is up with you and after months of this disappearing act, I actually don't care. But you are not taking my son anywhere."

"He is also my son," That last line had hit a nerve.

"Really? As for the last few months, it hasn't seemed like that. Did you know he had chicken pox earlier this month? That he couldn't stop scratching and couldn't sleep because of it? Or that he now enjoys trains rather than cars, or that he when he sees Spurs kit, he says daddy as it reminds him of you? This is all news to you because you haven't been here or even tried to be. I even tried calling you, but shockingly you didn't answer. You can't turn up and be a parent when you want. It's a full time job and if you don't get that..." She let her hand forward and left him.

********

Maanvi was sick of the inconstancies of her life and wondered how did she ever get here. One day it was her and her sister, then Viren a part of their world, to which she had never minded. Yet how did she mess up her own life? Don't mistake her thoughts not wanted her son. She did and does, and loved him to the moon and back. Still, she did not think about it much but today sitting in her empty flat while her son silently sleeps upstairs and his father nowhere in the picture, she could not help it. How did she end up as a single parent of a 3 year old? How did she not see Virat for what he was?

***

"How was today?" Jeevika asked Viren. She was late after a long day at work.

"The same as yesterday, he didn't say anything a school today. Emma said he listens and does what he is suppose to but still doesn't talk to anyone, child or adult."

"Where is he now?"

"He fell asleep an hour ago after having dinner. I tried to play with him but he wasn't interested. I think it is still too early."

Jeevika and Viren had begun fostering a six-year-old child. George had been taken from his mother two weeks ago and since has been living with Jeevika and Viren. In that time, he has only spoken a few words to them and refuses to speak at school.

Part 32

******
"George come on we are going to be late!" Vireo called out from the kitchen, while making eggs.
Jeevila strolls in grabbing a slice of toast off the plate. Viren glances at her as she bites into her breakfast. "Did you try?"

"He's coming, you don't have to yell. The place isn't that big. I know it's getting late but we have time." She calmly remarked. George dropped his bag down, switches on the TV at an alarming volume.
"Buddy! Switch it off. You've gotta have your breakfast and get to school," huffing he gets up and grabs his breakfast and sits back down in front of the TV.

Viren looks at Jeevika wanting to say something.
"We have to get him into a routine, with rules and consequences. "
"I know but he needs to feel safe first. We can't push too hard. He hasn't had a stable life. I want things to settle first before we start ... " Viren walked back into the kitchen he didn't want to push it but he knew they needed to start placing some rules in place otherwise ...

It was a light day at Maanvi's office. Their project they had been slogging over for months was finally over and it was going to take time before the next one started. So she did something she never does, left work early and picked up Laksh from nursery and enjoyed some quality time at the park with her son.

That evening Maanvi and Laksh went to Jeevika's for their weekly dinner. Everyone was sat around the table after a mini meltdown by George, who wanted to have dinner in front of the TV. The adults chatted about themselves and work, while Laksh played with his food.
Looking down at his dinner, "This food sucks," and he pushes the dinner away. This wasn't the first time George has refused to eat his dinner. It was a daily occurrence, however today he seemed in an expectional foul mood.

"Watch the language around Laksh. You haven't tried it. How do you know that?"
"I know it sucks. All your food sucks. It taste like crap."
"George!" Both Jeevika stared at him, the state she gives to her class when they know they have done something wrong. Viren moves the plate back to where it should, while Maanvi stopped fussing over Laksh. He pushes it away again, this time bumping the middle of the table.
"You know you need to eat your dinner. It's up for discussion, just like it wasn't last night. You know the way it works, no dinner, no TV. It's that simple." Viren calmed explained moving his plate forward again.
His face contorted and his eyes narrowed. Without warning, Laksh busted out in tears as George's plate flew up sending his food in any direction. He kicks the chair behind him and storms off.

I feel like I'm getting sloppy with my writing but maybe I'm just getting to the point now. II'm gonna try short updates . We will see how it goes.

Part 33

Viren and Jeevika quickly apologise to Maanvi before rushing off following George upstairs Maanvi picks Laksh up and tries to calm him back down. After a short time, he stops and insists on finishing off his dinners as it is his favourite. While he does so Manvi clears away for Viren and Jeevika. One less thing for them to do. Once finished she heads back home.

The next day, Laksh woke up at the crack of dawn as per usual for a Saturday. Waking up his mother at the same time, something that she was most pleased with. She reached over to her phone and phoned Jeevika. No answer. Stupidly, she looked at the time.

Buzz buzz buzz. Maanvi picked her phone whilst Laksh was having his breakfast.
"Morning Di, how is..."

"Masi, I wanna talk to ..." Maanvi fed Laksh his next bite and told him he could talk to Masi once she had.
Maanvi wanted to know how they were and about what happened after they left.

"I got your message last night. Thanks for last night, I just wasn't in any mood to talk or type about it yet." Jeevika began to explain how his tantrum carried on for another hour. Both her and Viren stayed outside of his room as they couldn't go in during the high point. She proceeded to explain that once all his rage was finally out, they did go in and his room which now resembled a bomb site. It took and lot of talking but eventually he had something to eat then sleep.

"How's he now?" Not knowing if that was the right question,

"He's been ok this morning. He about to start on his room." Maanvi seemed confused, "He's got to tidy it up after yesterday. We do the heavy lifting of furniture but everything else he has to sort. Anyway, we chat about this later, I have two minutes, what are you and monkey doing on your first Saturday not working in months."

"Mother- bonding of course, we are going to have an adventure saving all his shipwrecked toys from The Crusher. Once he's bored of that, or once I'm finished tiding up. We are meeting Alex, Lana and Julia."

"Of course! You said.Have fun ... " There was a loud noise from somewhere, "I really have to go Viren dealing with something."

Part 34

"Finished!" Laksh called out as he closed his book. Perfect timing Maanvi thought as she pulled the hand break up.
"Let's go and meet Alex, Lana and little Julia." Laksh clapped his hands as they headed out of the car. Laksh ran straight off to the sand pit and Maanvi parked herself on a nearby bench to keep an eye on him.
"Hi stranger," A voice called from behind. There walked Alex, pushing one of those all you need strollers.
"Hi there Julia," Maanvi crouched down into the buggy while handing Alex and Lana a coffee each. "Looks like someone keeps mummy and daddy up a lot." She giggled, "Yes you do, otherwise they would have realised they have the wrong coffees."

Lana took Julia out of her pram, and carried her for a while as they found a place on the grass to sit. Somewhere not in the sun, yet close enough to see where the monkey played. Alex placed down the blanked and took Julia as the girls sat. As Julia starts to fuss for a feed, Alex hands his daughter back.

"She's so big now. I forget how much they grow in such a short time."

"I can't believe it, the baby clothes you brought now fit. When you gave them, I thought it would months before she could wear them. Alex show Maanvi the picture of in it." Once he pulls out his phone.

"It's fine, send them to me." She looks down at Julia, " I don't need a picture if I have Julia here, do I? No I don't." Once fed, Lana passes Julia over to Maanvi, as she pops away to sort herself out.

As Lana returns, Alex wrestles Laksh away from the slide to have some lunch. They had all brought food or a picnic in the park. Laksh pretended to eat some food, and tried feeding Julia his sandwich thinking she would enjoy it more than him.

In between the cries and fussing, all three tried to catch up. Alex and Lana shared the joys of parenthood as well as their personal horror stories. While Maanvi attempted to comfort them them by reminiscing on the tales of Laksh.

After about an hour, everyone realised that the outdoor adventure couldn't be stretched any further especially with a crabby six month old. In the end they end up at their home. Julia fell asleep during the journey and Laksh now had his chance to take over the garden. Surprisingly, his was still running on a full battery.

"He's got some energy," Alex said shockingly,
"He does. I don't know where he gets it from though. And you thought babies were tiring. Wait until they are run and talk." She laughed while he looked depressed.

"Finally madam stopped fussing." Lana collapsed onto the sofa before giving Alex a kiss. The three carried on talking and gossiping about everything and anything. Even much so that Laksh had finally run out of battery and had fallen asleep on Maanvi lap after a quick snuggle.

"I should get going, especially as..." She looked down at the child on her lap. As she began to shuffle him,
"So I kinda wanted to tell you something?" Intrigued Maanvi stopped shuffling. As Alex began to speak Lana tried to stop him, when they heard Julia on the baby monitor.
"I wasn't sure if I should mention it today. I was gonna call and tell you but as Laksh is asleep."
"Spit it out. I don't think I've ever seen you this tongue tied before."
"Well, I sort of bumped into Virat the other day."

Maanvi didn't know what to think. She hadn't seen or heard from Virat since the night he showed up at her place.
"I was out with Julia when I saw him. It was very odd. He wasn't his usual self. He didn't seem to notice Julia. I know he never liked me much but even for us it was a very uncomfortable conversation. He either have very monotone monosyllabic answers or was very cagey and abrupt." He looked and Maanvi whose face dropped and he could see the concern and confusion. "I'm sorry. It could have just been a bad day. I should have said anything and just listened to Lana. I know you're not with him or anything but I just,"

"It's fine. Don't worry about it." She shuffled Laksh over again and stood up. "I umm haven't seen or spoken him in quite a while," she bend down and placed her hand under to pick him up and thought that this makes sense from what she saw last and it probably wasn't a bad day.

"The last time we err spoke it um wasn't good. I um hadn't told you about that but don't worry." She lifted Laksh over her shoulder whilst refraining from any eye contact. "Umm thanks for telling me, but I don't know what I can really do." She started walking towards the door collecting her bag. "I haven't even got a number for him anymore. He didn't, he changed..."

"Maanvi listen," she collected her coat and placed it somewhere without thinking,
"I can't, shoot. Can you get the car keys out of my bag?" He tried to get her to sit back down so they could talk but she had to leave. Alex attempted to help her with her things and Laksh but she has grasped the single parent thing by now. She knew how to juggle everything else and still manage to let her son sleep.

Deciding not to proof read as it taking me so long to update.

Part 33.

Viren and Jeevika were working hard with George to try and make him feel at home by getting him a sense of routine. It hard it hard days, the days where George would push back. Reminding them that they weren't his parents and he would go back to his mum and some point. He always did. It wasn't the first time he had been sent away from her. In the past, he had stayed with some family until his mum was clean enough to look after him.
He knew that. But being a seven year old boy meant he didn't know everything. He didn't know this time was different.

After meeting Alex, Maanvi was stuck again. She finally thought she was through with Virat. He hadn't made any contact with her in months. Never called, never came to see his son, she was done. But with everything Alex told her, she couldn't ignore it. After all, he was the father of her child. She had loved him yet she didn't know what to do. Should she call him? Text? Does he still have the same number? Maybe go through one of his friends? Her mind swirled with questions but no answered appeared.

After much battling, Jeevika and Viren started to see some hope. George started to let his guard down. He began to ate without a fuss especially when it was pizza or fish and chips night. He got through a whole week and only called the food crap once. Mornings weren't as tough anymore. He still ignored them when it came to the TV but there was less huffing and the neighbours didn't have to complain about the volume. After school, he actually wanted to read his reading book with Jeevika and asked Viren to help him with his homework. Things seemed to be working, well as much as they could.

George had joined a local football team and after much hesitation was actually enjoying himself. He loved running around that pitch every week. It was game day. The house was crazy, Jeevika overslept, George was yelling and Viren was dashing in and out. Ding! "Who's at the door!" George ran for it, it was Maanvi and Lakshmi ready for his game. After much chaos, they left.

Luckily, it wasn't a wet and miserable day. They kissed him luck before he wiped it off and ran off to his coach. Laksh ran up and down the sidelines and almost tried running into the pitch as George and his team attempted teamwork. "Is that him?" In the distance, two people watched George laughing, cheering and enjoying himself.

"Did you see me score Viren!" Viren nodded and beamed as he saw George light up. "I don't know how I did it,I..." He stopped dead. He couldn't move.
"Buddy?"
In front of him stood his mum, hanging onto some bloke. He was twitchy, but she smiles at him for a moment. George sheepishly stood behind Viren. Unsteadily, she let go and step forward towards him. George turned and ran towards Jeevika and Maanvi.
"George!"
