CHAPTER 8

Next morning Akash woke up before Ananya. He looked at her and smiled and caressed her cheeks. This disturbed Ananya's sleep and slowly she opened her eyes. She looked at him and Akash smiled at her and said, "Good Morning my love." Ananya too smiled and said, "Good Morning." Akash and Ananya then got up. Ananya went inside the washroom to take a bath while Akash switched on his laptop and started doing some work. Ananya came out and both of them went to have breakfast. On the table, Natasha and Prashant were waiting for them. As soon as they sat down, Natasha signalled Prashant. Prashant asked, "Kal raat kaha the tum dono?" Akash looked at Ananya and asked, "Ananya ne bataya to tha ki vo apni friends ke pass jaane waali hai." Prashant nodded and again asked, "Nahi matlab hume pata hai ki Ananya gayi thi par tu vahan kyun tha?" He continued with a teasing smile, "Gaye kahan the tum dono? Hmmm?" Akash and Ananya looked at each other and Ananya said, "Papa! Aap log jo soch rahe hai vaisa kuch nahi hai...vahan bohot lonely jagha thi isiliye Akash vahan ruk gaya tha...that's it!" Both Natasha and Prashant looked at each other and said in a sarcastic way, "Haan!" Akash said, " Aap dono pata nahi kya kya sochte rehete ho...anyway I am done with my breakfast aur aaj main bohot thak gaya hun to I am not going to office." Saying this, he stood up and went inside his room. After some time, Ananya too came back to her room and found Akash laying on the bed and reading a magazine. As soon as she entered the room, Akash said with a naughty smile, "Gaye kahan the tum dono? Hmm?" Ananya smiled and said, "Chup karo...vo dono bhi pata nahi bekaar ki baatein karte rehete hai." Akash kept his magazine aside and said, "Are! Bekaar ki baat kahan? Pati patni hai hum...itna to expected hota hai na? Afterall agar tumhare jaisi hot biwi ho to ssabko lagaega hi na...ab kisi ko kya pata ki mujhme kina self control hai" And he winked at her. Ananya nodded her head in disappointment and said, "Shut up!"

Akash then stood up and said, "Vaise aaj chutti maari hi hai to kyun na use utilise kariein?" Ananya looked at him with confused expression and asked, "Matlab?" Saying this, he turned to keep something inside the cupboard. Akash came forward and was about to hug her from behind but then retreated. He smiled at his own stupidity. Ananya closed the cupboard and asked again, "Kya matlab?" Akash came out of his thoughts and said, "Vo...matlab ki kahin chalet hain...what say?" Ananya immediately rejected the proposal and said, "Nhain nahin bilkul nahi...phele hi mom dad ko humpar shak hai...ab to yakeen ho jayega.." Akash looked at her from top to bottom and said, "Ananya...hhum 16 saal ke gf bf nahi hai...shak???? Like seriously??" Ananya realised what she said and bit her tongue. She said, "Acha thik h thik h...vaise main bohot thak gayi hun...ghar par hi time spend karlo...hmm?" Akash again looked at her in a weird way and said, "Ghar par time spend? How boring? Hum to vaise bhi saath main kuch INTERESTING karte nahi hai..." Ananya realised what he was trying to say. She came forward and kept her hand on his neck and slowly came forward to kiss him. Akash too held her waist and pulled her closer. Both closed their eyes. When their lips were a few inches away, suddenly Akash's phone rang. Ananya took advantage of this opportunity and pushed Akash on the bed and fled. Akash felt really angry. He looked at his phone and found that it was Shreya's. The convo -

Ak - (irritated) Abhi phone karna tha?

Sh - (confused) Sorry main samjhi nahi.

Ak - Ananya was about to kiss me.

Sh - To phone switch off karna tha na.

Ak - Correct me if I am wrong...To tum khe rahi ho ki main Ananya ko bolta ki wait my dear phele phone off kar lene do Shreya phone karne waali hai...right?

Sh - Haan to mujhe kaise pata chalta?

Ak - Acha ab ladna band karo aur bolo ki mera romantic moment kharaab karne ki vajha kya hai?"

Sh - Vo actually, aaj mere bhai ka birthday hai and uski wife ne ek surprise party rakhi hai to aapko invite karna tha.

Ak - Oh acha! Thik hai address message kardo. I will be there.

Sh - Ohk sir! Karti hun...bye

Ak - Bye!

Akash disconnected the call and nodded his head in disappointment and said to himself, "Is stupid se kaam ke lie isne meri saari mehnat pe paani pher diya...chal beta Akash dubaara lag jaa." He smiled and left.

He came to Ananya who was sitting in Natasha's room and said, "Shreya ke bhai ka birthday hai to we have to go." Ananya looked at him and said, "Haan mujhe pata hai." Akash asked, "Tumhe kaise pata?" Ananya smiled and said, "Mujhe pata hai kyunki Anji ka husband hi Shreya ka bhai hai." Akash was surprised at this. He said, "Well that's great! Mujhe nahi pata tha...chalo to phir tayaar ho jaana main office jaa raha hun." Natasha asked, "Tu to khe raha tha ki aaj nahi jayega...to ab?" Akash looked at Ananya and said, "Vo jis kaam ke lie ruka tha vo ho nahi paaya na to socha ki time kya waste karna ghar par beth kar.." Ananya looked down and controlled her smile. After that, Akash left.

In the evening, both left for the party. After reaching there, they both wished Karan and Ananya left him to meet Anji and Chitra. Akash too went to meet Shreya. Ananya was stealing glances at Akash and this was not left unnoticed by Anji and Chitra. Chitra nudged Anji and Anji said, "Seems like kisi ko apne pati se pyaar ho gaya hai. Haina Chits?" Ananya knew that this comment was meant for her. She looked at them and blushed. Both said at the same time, "OMG! Somebody is blushing..." The three of them hugged and Chitra said, "You know Ananya! We are really happy for you." Ananya smiled and they hugged again.

During the whole party, Ananya and Akash were just stealing glances at each other. After some time, Karan came on the stage and announced, "Well friends! Although ye party mere lie ek surprise thi but now I want to add something...let's play a game.." Everybody nodded in excitement. He continued, "Ohk to sabse phele main chahunga ki aap sab log apne partner ke saath khade ho gaye." Everybody did as told. He then started, "Game ke rules are quite simple...main aap sab logon se ek question puchunga...I maen saare husbands se...unki wife se related...and aapko answer karna hai..thats it..so are you guys ready." Everybody nodded.

He said, "Aap saare husbands is taraf aayiye and ek paper le lijiye aur apni wives se dur khade ho jayiye." Everybody went, took the paper and stood far away from their wives. He then gave them the question, "To question hai ki aap sabke according aapki wives mein aisi konsi 7 cheeze hai jo aap badalna chahenge...matlab koi aadat jo aapko pasand na ho...ise likne ke lie you all have 15 mins. Zyaada ho to koi problem nahi hai. Aaram se sochiye aur likhiye."

All men started thinking and all women started worrying. Ananya thought that Akash will write around 100 things and she even knew that she deserved them. After 15 mins everyone was called on stage one by one. All the husbands told around 10 things they would like to change. Akash's turn was in the end. He came on the stage and said, "Well...maine 15 min tak bohot socha...but mujhe kuch aisa nahi mila jo main Ananya ke bare mein pasand nahi karta...jaisa aap logon ne kaha ki pareshaan karti hai, gussa ho jaati hai etc etc...vo sab baatein mujhe bohot achi lagti hain coz inke bina meri life bohot boring ho jayegi...so I am sorry. I don't have anything else to speak coz I love my wife the way she is...thank you."

Everybody was mesmerized at the answer. And Ananya, she was not even in a condition of speaking. She was hell shocked. She never expected Akash to say such a thing. The game was over and everybody left to have dinner. Akash and Ananya too went to have dinner. Ananya was just looking at Akash with tears in her eyes.

Faili thi siyaan raatein

Bewajah si zindagi mein

Both bid everybody a good bye and sat inside the car. Ananya asked, "Aisa to nahi ho sakta ki tumhe mujhse koi shikaayat na ho." Akash smiled and asked, "Jab tumhe pata hai to puch kyun rahi ho?" She said, "Vahan kuch kaha nahi isiliye." Akash smiled again and asked, "Agar main vahan tumhari burai karta to tumhe acha lagta?" Ananya said, "Nahi" Akash looked at her and said, "To bus...main tumhe dukhi nahi karna chahta tha." Ananya just looked at him in reply.

They both reached home and changed. After changing, Ananya came to Akash and said, "Baat karni hai." Akash sat on the bed and said, "Haan bolo." She sat beside him and said, "Subha ek kaam adhura rehe gaya tha...vo pura karna hai..." Saying this, she came close to him. Again, they were just about to kiss when Akash's phone rang. He was about to turn when Ananya said, "Bajne do" Akash too found this option a better one and finally after about 1 year of their marriage, they kissed. It was a really passionate kiss.

Meherbaani jaate jaate
Mujhpe kar gaya

Ananya looked at him with tears in her eyes. He wiped them and kissed her cheek. Ananya blushed.

Tanah safina mera
Sahilon pe aaya hai tu

Akash made Ananya lie down and lied beside her and hugged her. Ananya moved her hands though his hair and whispered a thank you in his ears. Akash kissed her hair.

Slowly Akash slept and Ananya just looked at him and cried.

She kissed his cheek and Akash smiled in his sleep and both slept peacefully hugging each other.
