Fans and Fan culture/behavior has always been something I have never really understood. My sister and I have had many talks about it and we could never get the appeal of actors or celebrities in general. We are both avid moviegoers and enjoy a wide array films from around the world and in different genres. But I can honestly say I don't have a favorite actor or actress or that I'm a particular "fan" of anyone whether it's music or in any other part of the entertainment field.
I thoroughly enjoy certain music, films, books, television shows, authors(including yours truly😉) and such but I have zero interest in the personal lives of actors, artists,or athletes that are perfect strangers. And more often then not what lies beneath the pretty exterior of these celebrities is something all together frightening. While these "stars" are just human just like the rest of us their sickening attention seeking behavior or their just plain bad behavior and their fans undying love/support is too much to handle for my weak gag reflex! Celebrities and their fans are a match made in heaven they are like two sides of the same coin. On one side the ever attention seeking pompous celebrity and on the other side their fans with their extreme and unreasoning enthusiasm. There is a reason why Fan is short for Fanatic!
Very well written. I forget your name though😭
A friend pointed me to Pinkvilla a year or so ago I think... I forget... its ridiculous how fans have grouped themselves into cliques "PC" "Sonam" "Katrina" "Deepika". They wander around all day long and shred other humans like them to shreds, all so that they can prove how loyal they are to Deepika or Sonam
Not one actor in the last 10 years in Bollywood has shown any spark, if brazenly living with a married man is spark then yes Kangna I guess, if advising fans to go nude then Deepika...
Peecee? The less said the better... her accent and history changes with every movie...
But the fans are tireless...
I was torn to shreds for questioning Ishita Bhalla's morality, I wonder what those fans would say about actors that are amoral in real life.
The actors want nothing but attention, before long we would have cameras in their toilets. No I am not kidding!! PC would compete with Deepika about whose dump is bigger so who is a bigger name in town
They would beg for fans to leave them alone while showering, crapping and having sex in public...👏
They leave little scope for admiration or adulation because their real life occupies 99% of their lives, there will never be a Umrao or a Guddi or Rukmini Bai (Shabana in Mandi) Kavita Sanyal (Smita Patil in Arth)in this century.
PC brags about how her role in Fashion awakened women in India I barfed reading that comment. She must have overdosed on her narcos I thought...
Vidya comes close. Because she is practically unnoticeable👏 off screen
