Sorry for this delay!! Actually my exams are coming & still I haven't complete my assignments & all.. So, too much study pressure & that's why didn't get time to write the stories... Here, I giving you the chapter, quiet short... I'll try to write next one lengthy.. Sorry for now!! 😊

Chapter 1

Arnav chuckles hearing that, "You mean to say that from now on your chain is going to keep me safe?"

Khushi looks at him in shock and he chuckles, "I.. I was just kidding.. I don't want you to do anything you don't want to.. So if it is a must that you wear it, then just make it sure no one sees it.."

Khushi nods her head in reply "Thank you.."

"We might have just met two days before but still you are my wife so no need to be formal with me... Take care.." saying that he walks off..

Khushi locks the door and walks to the first bedroom and lies on the bed.. This was going to be her room and her house till he tells his family about their marriage.. She was not as rich as them or for that matter she was not rich... She lies on the bed, she wanted to cry she needed to let it out as her heart was so heavy but before she could give in to her tears she slept off tired...

Hours later, Khushi wakes up and looks around her surrounding, she was feeling hungry.. She hadn't had anything since morning... Due to nervousness she hadn't had her breakfast and then her controversial marriage, now she was famished... She looked at the watch and walked around wondering what to do when she hears knock on the door... Worried she hurries to the door she half hoped it was her husband and half hoped it was not him, but she was more hoping it to be her husband... She opens the door to find a beautiful girl standing there... Without being invited in she walks in as she looked Khushi from top to bottom, Khushhi nervously moves back wondering who this could be... could it be his sister he told her about? The girl kicks the door shut as she continued to stare at Khushi... Finally she says in a warning tone, "If you ever hurt my brother, I'll kill you."

"I'll never hurt him." Khushi says frowning and offended..

"Now that is out of the way..." Payal says... Then Khushi watches in shock as the girl says with her arms wide open and a huge smile, "Welcome home, Bhabhi!"

Khushi watches in shock as Payal hugs her happily... Khushi's eyes started filling with tears finally getting some acceptance from her new family that too such warm acceptance...

Payal moves back smiling at her and seeing the tears in her eyes, "Please bhabhi, I get uncomfortable when people cry... I can't handle that kind of tensed situations..."

Khushi chuckles hearing that & wipes her tears.. "That's more like it... Come let's sit and talk..." Payal says as she guides Khushi towards the couche..

"You know about me?" Khushi asks as she sits down with Payal...

"Yeah... bhai never hides anything from me.. He tells me everything.. Well actually he used to... but there is one thing he didn't tell me.."
Khushi looks at her curiously and slightly scared... What could it be? A secret girl friend? Khushi was so much lost in her thoughts..

"Wow... Bhabhi... you look lost... do you want me to come another time?"

"No... no... I was just..." Khushi looks down embarrassed..

"You could say feeling slighted that he would keep secrets from me for someone he just met few days back..." Payal tells her..

Khushi looks at her in shock.. His deep dark secret had something to do with her? She starts sweating & scared too..

"Bhabhi?"

"Secret regarding me?" Khushi asks shocked..

"Yeah... but then I shouldn't feel bad because after all you are his wife.." Payal tells her smiling..

"But what is it?"

"He told me why he feels he needs to hide you but he didn't tell me why he had to marry you.." Payal tells her.. "He said he was not sure whether you would like it being discussed.. So he told me to ask you and told me not to nag you if you felt like not telling me about it..." She add it..

Khushi looked at her shocked and trying to take in what Payal just said, he had refused to tell his sister, who he never hid anything from, the reason for their marriage because he felt I wouldn't like it?

"He told me not to nag you.." Payal says again..

Khushi couldn't help smile, "But you still want to know.."

"I am curious." Payal tells her with a sheepish smile..

"My brother and he were friends.. I don't know how they met or how they know each other.."

"What is your brother's name?"

"Nandkishore Gupta.."

"Ah... NK!! He is the guy with whom bhai studied in UK!!" Payal informs her..

"You know about my brother?"

"Like I said, bhai tells me everything.. Like 3years back, bhai & he settled in UK, they shared the same room!! You can say, they are best of buddies.. I chatted with your bhai too!!" Payal explains to her..

"Oh.." She didn't know about that, all she knew was what her husband had said, your brother & I were friends...

"Just few days back, we chatted when bhai said they are coming back & first landing on India, he'll visit your place with your bhai.."

"Oh... I was in Banglore for my studies & came back here few days before when I met your brother.." No wonder he didn't even know my name..

"Then what happened, bhabhi?" Payal asks her and Khushi looks up at her. "If bhai asks I didn't nag you.." Khushi chuckles, then taking a deep breath she says "Well... We are belonging from a reputated family, my elder brother was the head of our village and he had some rivals there..." Khushi gulps remembering what had happened hours earlier, "My bhai wants to build a new hospital there but they were against of him and..."

"Bhabhi, if it is difficult for you to talk about it, it is fine." Payal tells her gently holding her hand..

"No... no... I want to talk about it." Khushi says, as talking about it made her come to terms with her reality.. "We went to visit a temple where opposute party send some goons there and they killed my bhai & bhabhion the spot.. I, your bhai and NK bhai somehow managed to run away from there but on the way they killed NK bhai, your bhai tried to save him but... In his last breathe he took a promise from your bhai to keep me safe.. Because from now there's no one for me except him.. Bhai took promise from him to marry me.."

"And my brother said he will marry you.."

Khushi closes her eyes as she recounted how it had happened, the goons tried to kill them but the ran away flom there and came back to Mumbai when Arnav asked "If you are willing to have me, then I'll marry you.."

"Wow! He said that.. My bhai is a hero, na bhabi?" Payal excitedly asks her, Khushi looks up at her and gently smiles seeing Payal's excitement, "Yes.."

"Then don't know what happened to him when he got home.." Payal says rolling her eyes..

Khushi looks at her curiously.. "He is hiding you like this... He should tell everyone that you are his wife.."

"He will once Anjali di's marriage is over.."

"You know, it is after 7 months?"

"Yes.."

Payal rolls her eyes hearing that..

"He is worried that her fiance's family might call off her wedding if his marriage with me comes out in the open..." Khushi tells her.. "But he told her fiance about the truth and he also told him to keep things going like this as he is worried that his parents might create problems.."

"Yeah I know... Her fiance is a nice guy but his family is very money and status minded.."

"I know, your brother told me." Khushi tells her gently..

"He told you all that?" Payal asks her shocked..

"Yes... before the marriage." Khushi tells her..

"And you agreed?"

Khushi nodded "As much I get to know about your bhai, he is a nice guy, and I think I'll be happy with him so thought..."

Payal says smiling, "He will keep you happy, bhabhi.." Khushi doesn't say anything to that and Payal says, "I am still shocked that he got married.."

Khushi smiles, even she was shocked that they got married...

"I always thought he would remain single all his life.."

"Why?"

"I have never seen him talk to any girl other than when he is forced to.."

"Why?" Khushi asks shocked..

"He is such a loner, bhabhi... he loves his own company.. Such an introvert but now that he is married I hope you'll change him.. You don't worry bhabhi I will also talk to him and tell him to start interacting with you at least..." Payal says chuckling...

"Then tell me about you, bhabhi... Ever since bhai told me about you I was dying to talk to you.. I had come twice before.." Payal tells her..

"You did?" Khushi asks shocked..

"Yes... I knocked but I guess you were resting.. Bhai told me not to disturb you.."

"He is here?" She couldn't help ask..

"Yeah... He is at home.. He can't keep coming here right? He has gone crazy in just a day.." Payal tells her chuckling..

"How?"

"He tells me not to disturb you and then every hour he'll come asking me to check on you.. He was kind of getting worried too.."

"Sorry... I didn't realize... I slept off.. I was really drained and when I sleep even if a bomb blasts I will not know.." Khushi tells her embarrassed..

"Bhai is a light sleeper, so he'll take you to safety even if a bomb blasts.." Payal tells her winking and finally Khushi blushed like a new bride..

Arnav pulls up his chair to sit for dinner and then he looks around the table for her.. "Maa, call Khushi for dinner.."

"I ent to call her, but she said she wasn't hungry.." His mother replied..

"I think she feels akard, I understand!! Maa I'll have my dinner ith her.." He say smiling and starts to leave and sees Payal smiling proudly at him, "Payal you coming to have dinner with my guest?"

"Love to." Payal says getting up..

Arnav knocks on the door as he waited with Payal "I am proud of you, bhai.." Arnav mile..

They hear the door open and Arnav turns to the door and finds Khushi standing there, his wife..

"We are here to have dinner with you.." Payal declares smiling..

Khushi looks at Payal in shock and then slowly turns to look at her husband, Arnav hesitantly smiles at her and she returns the smile..

RK was standing by the window lost in thoughts he could hear Payal's excited chattering.. Then he hears a gentle chuckle and turns to the sound to find Khushi shyly chuckling at what Payal was saying.. She was so beautiful. Arnav thought amazed, he had spent almost the whole day with her and just now he realized that she was beautiful. He watched mesmerized when a lose hair strand kept disturbing her as it kept caressing her cheeks and she kept tucking it behind her ears only to have it caress her again in a minute. Somehow that gesture was making her all the more beautiful and he had this uncontrollable urge to be that hair though rather than caressing he wanted to kiss her cheeks then she should shyly push him away and he should keep kissing her. God! What has happened to him?? As if sensing his gaze on her she turns to look at his side and they kept looking at each other as they felt a pull towards each other..

"I will get it.." Payal says loudly bringing them back to their senses and they turned to look at her heading towards the door. Khushi turns to look at him in shock and he also turns to look at her then they gently smile at each other realizing neither of them heard the knock..

They all sat down for dinner, and again Payal was carrying all the conversation with Khushi intently listening to her while Arnav was againt lost in his thoughts.. He knew what he was doing to Khushi was not right..She was treated like an outcast in her own house.. He had told her the situation before the wedding, but he was relieved that here at least she was under his watchful eye, if she needed him she could get to him quickly..

"Why do you seem so lost, bhai?" Payal asks him..

"Nothing." Arnav replies shrugging then couldn't help but look at Khuhi and she was looking at him..

"Hariprkash, you go... we'll manage." Payal tells the servant...

"Okay... after you are done, call me through the intercom I'll come and clear it." He tells Khushi and leave...

"Khushi, do you need anything else in here?" Arnav asks her hen she gently shakes her head in no!!

After they had dinner, Khushi was about to clear the table when Arnav stops her, "Servant will do that.."

"It's okay... I'll do it."

"You are my wife... True that I can't say that to the whole world now but I won't have you behave like a servant here.." Arnav says..

"I do this at my house too." Khushi tells him..

Arnav turns to Payal, "Call the servant and ask him to come and clean it up.."

Payal nods and walks to the intercom.. Arnav walks towards Khushi and snatches the plate she was holding and keeps it on the table.. Then without a word he walks towards the window and lights a cigarette...

"Bhabhi... " Payal whispers to Khushi, and she turns to look at her. "He is feeling really guilty about the way he has to hide you, so please understand him and don't make it hard on him.."

Khushi stands next to him and looks out through the window.. It was the garden nothing interesting was happening there.. She turns to him and gently tells him, "We never had servants and I am used to doing all this.. I feel uncomfortable with people running after me.."

Arnav sighs as he turns to her and says, "It is difficult for me to understand because I am used to this kind of a lifestyle but I guess I get what you are trying to tell me.." Then he turns to look back at the garden and tells her "But Khushi, today you got married. If you were married to anyone except me you would have been treated like a Princess today.. I am sorry that I am putting you through all this.."

"Thank you for saving my life and thank you for giving me a roof over my head.." Arnav steps towards her and takes his hand to her cheek he was about to touch her when he sees Khushi looking at his hand nervously and he turns away quickly..

"I'll... I'll go and clean the table.." She whispers and walks towards Payal who was looking at a magazine...

After the servant leaves, Payal and Arnav turn to Khushi..

"Good night, Bhabhi." Payal says hugging her...

"Good night.." She says smiling hugging her..

"Good night." Arnav tells her in a soft tone..

"Good night." Khushi whispers back..

She locks her door after they leaves and walks towards her empty bedroom and gets on the bed.. She hadn't unpacked yet, she can do that tomorrow.. She was too tired for all that.. She lies on the bed sadly, today was her suhaag raat and she was all alone in this house.. She knew he had no choice but somewhere deep down it hurt to realize that she was going to be alone for the next 7 months.. An hour later, Khushi was still awake thinking of her husband, her brother and the accident, finally she was about to give in to her tears when she hears the knock.. Her heart came in her mouth, Khushi walks towards the door scared who could it be at the door at this time? She hears the knock again and opens the door to find her husband nervously standing there shifting from foot to foot..

"You?" She asks shocked..

"Who did you think it was?" He asks with a confused frown..

"I thought you would have slept by now.." She tells him not wanting to tell him about thoughts..

"I couldn't sleep." Arnav tells her nervously..

"Why?"

"It's our wedding night and you are all alone here. So..."

"So?" Khushi asks confused..

"I came here to be with you..."[P]
