Awesome update as usual and my sincere apologies for the late response. I will blame that on the world cup cricket and the India-Pakistan match along with myself.

The whole chapters seems about reading between the lines. There is so much hinted that I cannot wait anymore to know what went on with Arshi all those years back and I cannot wait to know what Arnav knew even after all these years.

The plane taking and landing is always an exciting prospect and could not stop relating to my own landings after reading your perfect rendition. Just like the passengers, I could not wait for Khushi to get out and meet Arnav. But I guess, you had other ideas.

India airport pickup is always an interesting situation. Looking forward to who will be there, excitement that heart feels on seeing a longing face, the scent of the land and the flavor of the air. But, I like it even more now, not for any of the aforementioned, but for the simple reason on how you added to the excitement by weaving the texts, comments and feelings into it.

The cell phone gift along with the text was a smart choice by Arnav. He put the ball back in Khushi's court and the back and forth between them seems to be even longer than the classic French open rally😃.

Arnav - for all the planning he has done, he did not realize that he can control what he does, but cannot control what he feels. He wants to call but not sure on what to say. He expects a call but not sure when would that be. A waiting heart is always a restless one and I am glad for once, I am in the good company of Arnav in waiting to read the sweet words again.

So until the next update, M, I'll be in standby-mode.

Plane journeys are indeed exhausting, and Mira, you have perfectly described the mood in the airplane and of its passengers.

I am always fascinated to read the message exchanges between Arnav and Khushi. Sometimes to the point, sometimes cryptic and sometimes deep feelings hidden in a simple sentence and sometimes I feel Mira is giving us clues about the future of the story through these one liners.

There is no way I am waiting another ten years. See you soon.

See Mira, I am right about your one liners. I can infer so many things from the above one message of Arnav. Initially I think he did wait for Khushi to contact him and call him back. Then life moved on for him, but somewhere he did hope to see her and meet her. But I am glad that he is not giving up this time.

Like Jigs had mentioned in her last update comment, I think this time Arnav will fight all odds to win her back. I really hope he does.

He didn't come to the airport after all.

Khushi did get disappointed not seeing Arnav at the airport. if she was happy that he did not come and thought good riddance, I would have concluded that there is absolutely no future between these two, but seeing her disappointment, I feel there is still hope, hope for her to let Arnav in, hope for her to find love again.

Ahh, it was such a sweet gesture of him to give her a phone. And again loved the text message he had sent her on that phone.

But damn, did he have to attend an emergency today, of all the days!!!!!

Now eagerly waiting for her to call him back!!! Khushi dont take another 10 years to call him. 😉 And Mira, hopefully you will give us an update sooner than we think. 😆

As a person that is on a airplane at least twice a month, being away from home frequently for days or even a day trip, taking the first flight and the red eye back home... I relate to all of those emotions you described. At times when all I want to do is get off the plane and go home, I am the first one to get up from my seat, or at times I don't want to deal with people so I wait patiently seated...

Thank you for drawing the big picture which I tend to forget when I only think about myself when I become the road warrior... One thing is for sure, my travels will now include remembering this update.

Ahhh... so this update, specifically these two lines, made my heart go dhak dhak...

There is no way I am waiting another ten years. See you soon.

He knew her. He knew her even after all these years. Ten years!

And this line, sort made my heart skip a beat...

He didn't come to the airport after all.

The build up has started for Arnav, the anticipation is there, but will Khushi be able to forget the past that she seems to holding against him... Also, NK was and is an integral part of who she is, I am not sure how she will be able to move forward. It's going to take a long time and patience from Arnav, and us readers 😆 not to mention him fighting for that second chance with her, if that is what he wants.

This story really makes you think about all aspects of life and relationship from many perspective, and I for one keep racking my brain about how this is all going to come together...

So my dear friend M, I shall wait to see what you have in store for us... patiently... but just so you are aware, I am not patient...😆

Mirabell, you've written Meera so beautifully. Each emotion she feels clearly visible on her face. The pure innocence of a child. Every trait of hers makes me want to just hug her and keep her safe even while applauding the sheer positivity and disarming directness with which she faces the world.

You've described the mood on the plane so well. Capturing the goings on so perfectly. And this rush towards the closed door always amuses me. Hordes of people just chafing to burst out! Just to make sure there are only 5 people ahead of you in Immigration instead of 7 ...

I have to confess to feeling as disappointed as Khushi. I really wanted him to be there at the airport. But on reflection, Arnav's thoughts were probably right. It would have been awkward with Manorama and Nandini there. As it is Khushi is so unsure how to react and would have ended up being stilted with him. But I loved how he automatically thinks of Khushi and Meera together as "they". "They were in the same time zone finally damn it!" It's just so adorable the way he is thrilled' and excited'! aane se uske aayi bahaar ... and did he have her photo on his phone? or did Bhuaji give Gangadhar a picture to identify Khushi? I want to go with the romantic notion rather than the practical one MB ...

"It appeared that widowhood helped form a close sisterhood for these two, offering quiet companionship and surprisingly, freedom and autonomy as well."

Given Manorama's life, this freedom and autonomy must have been so sweetly strange and liberating. I see this in AD, where main jaa sakti hoon? slowly becomes a statement of wonderment main jaa sakti hoon ...

Firstly, awesome update.

Now, let me start by saying that this complete chapter has a number of hidden messages.

When La says,

"It's just a kind and a friendly gesture Khushi, why are you making more out of it than it really is?" Lavanya had challenged her, "Unless it is more than what it is."

It already, starts the ball rolling for me and there is no looking back. Of coz there is more to it. They have a history and chemistry 😉and its not over yet. In fact, it is just about starting afresh.

If your flight details are indeed a state secret, then you leave me no choice but to commit all kinds of crimes to acquire it. :)

This made me wonder what all is Arnav ready to do if he is ready to commit crime to get what he wants. Khushi you better be ready for this and let him take the charge. I say!! 😆

And, her reply back to his is just as good. Looks like, Khushi is all ready to tempt him into committing some tempting' crimes. Its it Mirabell?? 😛

But this one was the best one... There is no way I am waiting another ten years. See you soon. ❤️

This one line gave me goosebumps.. It was just so awesome to read and feel it. I am almost jealous of Khushi that Arnav would say that to her and not me. 😳

And Khushi, please do not act as if you don't know what he means by that. Why would you still wait for him in the airport and why were you so disappointed on not seeing him wait for you? Don't push him away Khushi... give him the chance and let him heal his wounds and yours.

But her eyes seemed to have a will of their own, moving, searching the crowd.

So she was waiting for him and she is disappointed for not seeing him in the airport crowd. I am happy to see this reaction from Khushi. It is almost a relief. I am happy that even if she tries to push Arnav way, she wont succeed this time.

Locked up memories will not remain remanded, but will demand freedom soon, she knew. I am 100% sure it is meant for Arnav.

Am I allowed to say that I am kind of glad that Arnav did not come to to the airport. I want their meeting to be in a more private place where they will be able to have their moment of relief, away from prying eyes and unnecessary conscious acts. At least, for Arnav I can say that much.

Khushi, is trying to resist but I am sure even she is unable to resist the attraction and the invisible bond that they share is evident to both. Anyone who gives them a seconds thought can see it. Its that palpable.

Now, I also hope this is the first and last emergency that comes in-between Arshi union.

btw. the ending of this chapter stands in conflict to what he said in his msg to Khushi about not waiting another 10 yrs ...

But then he decides against calling her and waits. He does not call her.

I do hope that in the next chapter... he resolves this and takes the command in his hand. I do not want him to wait for Khushi to take the first step. Coz she will not. She needs that nudging and coaxing.

Oh!! I hope we get an update sooner than soon!!

I wanted to post my comment for chapter 9 before you update again but looks like I'm a tad bit late.
Yet to read chapter 10 but here is my comment for chapter 9.

More glimpses into the life of Khushi and NK. The more I know about them, the more I feel for Khushi and her loss.

That whole "him" para, I'm not sure if she is talking about Arnav or NK. First, I thought it was Arnav, then thought may be it was NK.
Finally, I settled on Arnav. It has to be him.
The NK consoling Khushi scene and NK proposing Khushi scene must be from two different times.
I used to think, it was probably Arnav who was not willing to give them a chance but now it seems like it was Khushi. What are the demons she was talking about?
So, NK was aware of Arnav and Khushi but to what extent, we are yet to know.
If Arnav ever wants to pursue Khushi, it's not going to be easy at all. NK had pretty much set the bar very high for Khushi.
Can Khushi ever give that place to someone else.. I don't think so.
All she could possibly do is to be able to lock NK in that place and make a new place for Arnav in her heart.

Your line about locked up memories needing freedom, summed up this chapter nicely..

Khushi's inner disappointment over Arnav not being present at the airport..

Arnvas comment to her about not waiting another 10 years, - we know Khuhsi has already counted the years,- portray no matter why and how they parted ..there's a want, a need, a desire to reach out to each other...a friendship to be rekindled...

I commend you for writing a story about second chances - whether it ends in a marriage or a bond stronger than friendship.. It's the portrayal of characters, a young widow with a child.. A divorcee with a child and a very strong support system within the immediate family.. This brings to my mind the importance of change, moving with the times...

Another wonderful chapter MB. I totally loose myself in your words. It's fast becoming my most favorite and most anticipated part of Friday. It may be a regular story about human emotions but the way you weave magic with your words makes the whole experience of reading it divine. There is pure magic in the way you tell your story. Thank you.
