What can I say that I haven't said before? M... you really outdo yourself with every update...please take a bow 👏

Never, I mean never would I have wished for a jodi other than ArHi, but you have made the impossible, possible. How I wish NK can be there right by her side and they live happily ever after with their little girl... kash..huh?

The two men are quite the contrast from each other... "He", who left with a broken heart, not looking back or fighting for what is his, while the other persisted on making/teaching her to love. Showing her what "love' truly means. True hero NK is in my book, though I wish Khushi would have not pushed away something meaningful... but what's done is done.

But something tells me, "He" will rise up this time, and make her fall in love again, and I shall wait for that to happen...

Delhi, here we come! Bring it on my dear M...🤗

PS... sorry for the delayed comment!

Rahman's soulful "Naan Varuven" from Raavanan. I'm sure if you know Tamil (well, neither do I) - so, posting a translation of the lyrics I found on the internet below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh0HM10mIw8

Naan Varuven
Meendum Varuven
Uninai naan thodarven
[I will come.
I will come back again
I shall follow you]

Oru pillai ezhudhum kirukal dhan vaazhkaiyo
adhil artham thedi alaivathe vetkaiya
[Is life like a child's sketch pad?
and searching for a meaning there amongst all the scratches
the quest of life? ]

Artham puriyum pothu vazhuvu maaruthe
Vazhvu maarum pothu artham maaruthe
[Life changes when we understand its meaning, and
the meaning changes as our life changes]

Oru kanavu kaatril midhakuthe
athu mithandhu konde sirikuthe
[A dream still floats in the air..
and it smiles at me as it floats]

Oru pillai ezhudhum kirukal dhan vaazhkaiyo
adhil artham thedi alaivathe vetkaiya
[Is life like a child's sketch pad?
and searching for a meaning there amongst all the scratches

the quest of life? ]

Naan Varuven
Meendum Varuven
Unai naan thodarven
[I will come..
I will come back again
I shall follow you]

What a beautiful song!
I do not know Tamil. But now I am listening to this number and cant stop.
ThanX for sharing.

Oh Kavi... this entire update made me shiver, gave me goosebumps.. The emotions M brings out within us with her words is true magic... I find myself being transformed into the story with the characters..

And how ironic that I read this update on my flight back from Chicago... cocooned inside a plane, breathtaking experience!

Yes, this time he has to. Life is too short and not everyone gets a Second Chance.
But, Arnav-Khushi past itself gave me goosebumps.

During our youth, sometimes we don't understand the intensity of our feeling for another person and we try to run and hide. We are so scared to face our own heart that is willing to tear away from our body and crash into the other person. And in those instances denial and hiding, burying, disappearing seem better options than facing the tumultuous heart's intense yearnings.
We do not understand what is the truth and what is not... We are more concerned about our own feelings and intentions. We are so scared of our own vulnerability. We want to blame the other person to make us feel this unchartered emotions we are just not prepared for.

Society and upbringing forced us to behave in a certain manner. Inhibitions keep killing us inside.
And, with these growing intense feelings, the thunderous heart leaves the mind numb. We become cowards. We refuse to let anyone see our vulnerability. We pull a garb of indifference, rudeness, act insensitive. We try to hurt ourselves and the one we treasure the most. Coz we are not ready to face the reality of the unnamed unchartered emotions.

We are not ready to face the truth. We prefer the calmer, more static, controlled affiliations... but the ones that truly make us alive, and the heart to hammer instead of just beat.
That is what Arnav and Khushi experienced.
They were too young and they felt all the surreal sensations of the most real emotions. And both of them reacted to what they could handle.
One broke the heart and the other refused to mend it. Because they were too stunned to handle the electrifying turmoils of true souls.
Now they are mature they have made mistakes and they have known the truth in their hearts for a long time.

Not everyone gets second chances.

Least we can do is sought our emotions and understand ourselves better through these beautiful stories.

I echo with you.

Two people, who briefly met, denied themselves a fair chance at love and life together more than 10 years ago...and if they are still feeling this wrenched just reminiscing memories from a different lifetime...their brief relationship and time spent together must have been nothing short of magical...more like mirage or a borrowed dream...

The impressions of first love do last a lifetime. In that first flush of love, you give it your all and hardly know how to withhold...as exhilarating as that is, the vulnerability that accompanies it is terrifying...

There are so many hidden feelings and untold stories within a singular story.

Mini, I agree. Some people in our lives whom we might have interacted for only a short interval of time, we remember each and every small detail about them and yet others whom we might see everyday, we feel we hardly know them.

Isn't our heart strange?? We never know with whom it connects on a deeper level and with whom it does not connect at all.

Your descriptions are to die for. This one, unfortunately (fortunately for your writing, I guess? 😆) brought back the not-so-pleasant er... stench that comes from a plane after that 17 hour flight. You made me crack up with the lack of patience of the until now, oh-so-patient passengers- the hasty phone calls, the jostling to get out of seats... ah, you've done the impossible. You've made me miss a damn plane. 😆

The banter between Arnav and Khushi always makes me smile. Naturally, your sense of humor is something I love, and it comes through in their conversations- just a touch of something, and it has me giggling behind my hand.

But then... I stop giggling when I read Arnav's blunt text on not waiting. You've articulated his determination throughout this- it's a constant motif, and you mirror that with Khushi's "he still knows me", and her uncertainty to contrast his certainty. I love the way you've set this up, and I can't wait to see how it plays out. Let the cards fall, Mira.

Another thing I love? The mother-daughter relationships. Khushi/Manorama and Khushi/Meera- hey! They're both K/M! 😆 Meera leaning against her mother as they land, and Khushi looking to give Manorama's tired, aging legs a rest... you make us feel the love between them. And again- your descriptions of Buaji and Khushi, the hug she gives her... Show, not tell, as is the habit with you :)

Gangadhar is adorable. I don't know why, but he is. He reminds me of the watchman at my grandparents' building, where I am still "Baby Amreekan Bacchi" 😆

The note. How I loved the note. The little, tiny mystery you weave in there makes me into Meera, with a child-like (okay, I guess I'm not that far removed from a child) curiosity of wanting to know what Arnav said, damnit! You make my heart race with your interactions between these two- there's something... that makes me antsy, something that makes me impatient whenever you write Arnav and Khushi. Unfulfilled excitement, the lack of satiation despite a fantastic meal... YKWIM? You give me that feeling, Mira.

Hurry up. You've left me impatient. 😆

Love,
G (or Chutki)

P.S.: SURPRISED YOU AGAIN!
