The asset that Khushi was known for lacked in Aahat but it wasn't going to be long before she gained it back because her future had something in store for her. Due to a strange feeling she had worn a sari to office. A royal blue sari with a high neck sleeveless blouse, designed in black. Her hair was loosely tied in a high ponytail with loose curls. Now she knew that her heart had already sensed Arnav.
As Arnav held her, hate and love both were visible in their eyes, love for each other that was turned into hate by the secrets of the past and present, personality changes and family ties.
Unspoken emotions highlighted their personalities and this meeting which was planned by destiny, destiny which would unite them and destiny which had separated them. Their hearts yearned for each other but their minds assumed that this union was not possible now. Their eyes locked, their souls met but the memories of that night haunted them. Both of them had their own reasons, someone's trust was broken while someone's faith in love had crushed. Their lives had changed their courses only to meet again.
...
ASR had pulled Aahat dangerously close to him now. His one hand was tightly enclosing her waist while the other held her hands. One wanted to break free from the hold, the hold which held her not physically but also emotionally while the other's heart urged for a confrontation of feelings, not wanting to keep the mix of emotions intact. Aahat was in between two worlds today, her mind was telling her to engage herself with her family and not to forget about the promise she made to herself but her heart told her to run into Arnav's arms. While Arnav only searched for answers in her eyes, eyes that mirrored her emotions.
Their gazes met, but silence followed. Not a word was needed for love was visible today. Love that wanted to unite the two lovers, showed its dominance and Aahat's mind couldn't win over it today but pain and anguish threatened to escape, breaking this heartfelt silence, breaking the walls of the enclosure of love. Aahat's hazel brown eyes were clouded with tears, tears that reflected the torment in her heart. Like stormy seas, her heart was covered in those cold gusts of wind but the light from the candle of love wanted to convey its warmth to her.
Finally, wanting to keep the self made promise, unwillingly Aahat mustered the courage to speak, in a low voice, putting on the mask of formality and ruthlessness, things she never was and could never be she spoke. "Leave me Mr. Raizada, you are going beyond the limits of professionalism. As I have already cleared, you have no rights on me.", said Aahat while struggling to free herself from ASR's tight grip.
But her weak attempt was vain. Arnav had noticed the tears and he knew that the person he loved with all his heart was somewhere still there. He knew Aahat better that she thought he did. He smirked and pinned Aahat to the wall and bent to near her face. He was too close to her yet again.
"Aahat! You know you can't free yourself from me, not today", started Arnav, "and no matter how much you claim to have forgotten me your eyes can never lie to me. Plus, you know you still have feelings for me and having said that I can claim rights on you. Now, don't even try to break free, you know for yourself I never do what I don't want to", he continued, "And I know I was late but I came there and you were the one who called off the wedding. You Aahat and only you were the one who walked off that day." The smirk was starting to fade and in its place seriousness held its position over Arnav Singh Raizada's face.
The muscles on Aahat's face tightened, memories of the past played in front of her eyes. She knew the love they had for each other was too strong to have been forgotten easily. The memories of the rose gardens, the proximity they shared and the stealing away for a few moments of romance here and there weakened her heart and tears rolled down her eyes.
"Do not try to make me feel guilty Arnav. It was midnight and before that I was ready to live both worlds and tell you all about this life of mine. Also, I didn't choose it Arnav, it came to me. I was happy living like Khushi Gupta and with the man I loved. I trusted our love and knew it wouldn't crumble even if the biggest secrets or obstacles were to come our way and then you...you took away that trust and didn't come to the wedding when it was supposed to happen. You Arnav called off the wedding and then you decided to grace us with your presence and expected me to accept you?" said Aahat with anger in the voice, anger that was born out of the sorrow she had faced and then finally broke down. The gusts of winds had shifted the sands from the desert.
Arnav Singh Raizada now had to face the mirror he had avoided for so long. He had known that he was somewhere at fault and now he had to accept it. His love for Aahat didn't allow him to turn his face away from this grief. Then, his lack of acceptance had overpowered him and now that hatred was going to change over into something that was the only beautiful thing in one's life, love. The tables were about to turn.
Arnav loosened his grip on Aahat's hand but his one hand still encircled her waist. He couldn't bear to look at her eyes, which were red now with tears of sorrow that had flowed down her cheeks like the water from a river finally freed off the clutches of the dam built over it, in this case it was the emotions that had been clutched inside Aahat and had finally relieved her of the burden that she had carried, now for over two weeks.
He had to mend this bond now, the bond torn by pride. He pulled her even closer such that his face was almost touching hers, but Aahat didn't respond. She was too driven by emotions to calculate the consequences or reflect on what would happen, she was unmindful about everything at the moment. Arnav moved his lips towards her cheeks and gently kissed her tears away. At that moment he decided that he would never again cause her the pain he had.
He admired her face, which for so long couldn't be adorned by the glance of his eyes. Suddenly, his hand went upto her hair and he opened them, "I like your hair like that, don't tie them". His gaze was then set over her full lips and he bent to reach them. They were trembling, with the sense of his touch over her waist already and puckered. Seeing this, Arnav's lips puckered, passions enlightened and memories soothed the pain. Finally, their lips met.
...
They ignored their love for each other but they realised its worth and that they yearned for it only that day, just like a bird who does not recognise the worth of light during the day but when it cannot see the sky at night it yearns for light and each day the bird feels a new happiness and its life starts afresh when the sun rises in the sky and gives those yearning eyes the light they were looking forward to receive.
Their lips were rejoicing in the happiness of having finally found their respective counterparts, enamoured by the presence of each other's touch on them. Arnav's hand went inside her pallu exploring her midriff, thinking to himself, " Good day to where a sari", that's when Aahat realised what was happening.
She immediately opened her eyes and pulled away from the kiss. "No, this wasn't right. What am I doing?" These thoughts were racing in her mind. She stepped away from Arnav and picked up her things in urgency, dropping the little glass globe and spilling her coffee on the desk. She reached the door and called out, "We can decide the date of the next meeting over the phone, and I'll tell my P.A. to inform you. Let's keep the next meeting in the conference room with the management so as to keep everything 'only' professional ", she stressed on the last line and walked away, closing the door behind her but opening a new door of emotions for her relationship with the man she loved.
Hearing this Arnav smiled and walked out of the cabin with content on his face for he knew now that Aahat still had feelings for him and he would win her back. Arnav Singh Raizada was not going to let her go this time.
