Hi everyone.
So are some/all of you expecting an update today?I thought I made a pretty non-commital wishy-washy promise the last time 😛 As you might have guessed that is a roundabout way of saying that I have nothing on me today. I hope to update end of Monday.
I have been reading some of your comments/ thoughts/ feedback and needless to say they are all brilliant and a little intimidating even. But thank you. You guys made me realise how enormously idiotic I have been by leaving the most inane comments on the fabulous stories that I have read.
Since I am new to fanfic writing, I am always unsure the expected etiquette on comments. Should I respond to each individually? Does that make me a crazy narcissistic? Should I make a general note and offer a sweeping thank you to all the people who commented? Does that make me an a-hole? I don't know.
Since, I have got some feedback on the pace of the story (again) and people's doubts about my motivations with the characters and how I will achieve a Arnav-Khushi endgame, I am going to address this bit. When I thought of writing this story, I had a premise in mind, with a start, a middle and an end. I also had a key conflict point in mind. Of course, crux to my story is the subject of class divide, which is part of the show's premise too, but one that they move away from soon, probably because it does not make for good TV. But I figured that this wasn't a story that would be any fun with a linear timeline and hence the back and forth. I know this creates a bit of a problem in that I am still establishing character ticks and motivations for the same lot ...twice. And the story is very exposition heavy. That is my not particularly stellar defence of my story's pace 😊
On the Arnav-Khushi endgame, yes, that is my idea, impossible as it seems now, and be warned it will seem even more so once you read my next chapters!
On character motivations and behaviours, of course, as a reader it is your absolute right to interpret any way that you want them to. So if you think Arnav is a dickhead, you are right and if you think he has shown growth and is therefore amazing, you are right too. I think it would be dishonest on my part if I actually explained why my characters are the way they are. Right?
Anyway, absolutely chuffed reading all the comments. My apologies for putting the imagery of diaper barfis in your head 😛 And since a couple of people discussed on all the possibilities of hilarity if HP & Sonu were in the same house, I am seriously considering if Arnav should marry Payal *ducks*
Some other things:
1. My name is Radhika, you may call me that. Or Yellow Boots. Or YB. Or anything else you deem right
2. Yes, I am a Dilli girl/woman. Bengali. Though I live in Bombay now. It is my sasuraal. And sasuraal genda phool
3. I don't send PMs because.. I am just very, very lazy (cue stereotype about Bengalis), so you don't need to buddy me. Of course, if you send me a buddy request, I will add you assuming you really want to be friends with me
