You know, on some strange, skewed level, I understand and empathise with Arnav's completely irrational action of barging into Khushi's book signing and disrupting it. The loss of control he feels around her, he has never been in charge of their journey.
She approached him first as a 9 year old.
She broke through his emotional wall as a child.
She wanted the marriage.
She abandoned them.
She divorced him.
She drunk called him.
She came back.
She made the decision to be friends.
He had no choice but to reciprocate. He always eagerly took everything she threw his way. And it's not fair. He's not a dog. I believe his little attempt at regaining his place in her life, even as a book character is an attempt to get back the control.
Khushi better realize his worth before she loses him forever. Their love seems surreal.
He'd always loved the way her hands moved, whether they were playing the guitar, smoothing over his skin, or simply signing a book.
I loved this line. I love how you make their emotional connection so strong, only hinting at the physical intimacy. Tragically beautiful. I wonder if the pain of the present mars the wonderful memories...how can you look at a face who was once your everything and now...nothing.
Reminds me of this six word story -
