Love is a funny emotion... Just when you thought, you are too smart or too cynical to ever feel it, it creeps up on you stealthily... Or just when you thought, you could & would avoid such a complicated emotion, like the plague, all your life, and you would rather be caught dead than be dragged into it's mushy & murky waters, without so much as a warning, it lands up on your lap & stares you in the face. Forcing you to acknowledge its very uncomfortable presence in your life. And by the time it makes its presence known in one's life, one is probably neck deep in it already anyways... And it goes without saying that, chances of a recovery from its clutches are well nigh impossible due to the uncooperative nature of the organ involved. Because neither does the heart listen to your prudent lectures nor does it lets you rest in peace once the presence of the emotion has been detected...

Having grudgingly accepted the presence of that inconvenient emotion in your life, you will soon discover to your horror that the organ has actually upped the ante & rendered you hapless & useless, unless those feelings are reciprocated by the person it is determined to shower its benevolence on... Not only that, not only does it become necessary for the emotion to be reciprocated but also the physical presence of that certain someone in your life is a prerequisite for your continued peace & happiness. And to ensure the permanent presence of the person in your life, it unfortunately requires you to express that vulnerable emotion to them... Now that is a task easier said than done... To some, it comes too easily & to others, it might give nightmares... That brings to the question, when does it become necessary to express that love to your sweetheart?? Does it require saying it in words or just plain actions would suffice?? And what exactly is the best time & way to say it?? Needless to say, some of these questions have baffled the minds of many a poets, authors, & love-gurus throughout the annals of history... Wish there was some cut and dried approach or standard formula about when & how to express this elusive and utterly unpredictable emotion to your beloved...

Such is the malady that has struck our honorable CM... Is it any wonder then that our dear CM has been tottering under the weight of these weighty issues in his life?? There isn't a rulebook in the matters of the heart that he can refer to unfortunately... Nothing to provide him any guidance or assistance other than his guts... And his guts have been tearing him apart lately... Be it from wanting to finally accept what he feels for Khushi after losing the battle spectacularly or once having accepted his feelings for her, then struggling with the necessity of expressing his feelings in words to his stubborn wife and now even acutely missing her presence & worrying about her safety & planning her financial security in case of an untimely event of his demise... Whichever way you look at it, he feels as if he has been put through the wringer & wrung dry...

Loved Aman's insightful words about Arnav's past... He beautifully explained Arnav's avoidance regarding this effulgent emotion that he had been deprived of all his life... I think I mentioned the same thing in one of my earlier posts once... Poor Arnav, though being born into royalty has been a pauper all his life where this touchy feely emotion is concerned. He has learned the hard way to not indulge in it frivolously... The only time he had allowed himself to be pulled into its clutches, he had gotten badly burnt... Now, it's a case of once bitten twice shy with him...

Although, Arnav's past experiences have rendered him love-shy, the fire-cracker he married for anything but altruistic reasons, managed to pull the rug smoothly under his very feet... She stole his heart from right under his nose with all his senses wide open... The more he denied & fought his feelings for her the more he got sucked into her charms... Be it her wit or bravery or her caustic one-liners, he kept getting entwined more & more into her untainted, unpretentious, simple charms that were like a breath of fresh air to his cynical & jaded mind. His heart refused to believe something so pure was intent on showering its love & affection on him of all people. That he was the sole recipient of those affections, to the point she would fight like a tigress to protect him from all harm, totally blew his mind away... When did he get so lucky??

By the time he assimilated in his mind all that he feels for Khushi & why she has become the center of his universe, she was leaving him, albeit temporarily, for a short trip... The territorial & possessive lover in him was slowly awakening to the fact that it did not like this separation from his beloved one tiny bit... He wanted to keep his paragon close to his heart always... He fretted over her safety & comfort and dispatched a small army of personnel along with two of his commandos to look after her and keep guard on her like a hawk...

Her safety had become of paramount importance to him... Yet, he sensed a danger to his own... Making him want to draw up his will leaving everything to her & his unborn child... He may have taken a long time to accept his feelings for her, but now that he has done so, he is spectacularly making up for all the delay...

Unfortunately, his worst fears finally came true... His abduction, which was fabulously written btw, came at the most importune of times & basically short-circuited his plans for the confession that his dear wife has been stubbornly waiting for so long... Did he wait too long in the end?? Will be able to voice them to her ever?? Will he be able to see that smile of satisfaction & love in her beautiful eyes that he has been longing to see for a while?? It is during these moments of trials & tribulations in life that one questions the need to withhold affection from people that are closest to us... That is life worth living without sharing & experiencing the most sacred of feelings & emotions of pure love with people that truly matter to us?? Why do we fight these feelings?? Do egos or fears have to be bigger than love?? Do we need to spend our lives in fear of losing our loved ones all the time?? I am sure Arnav will be introspecting these & many other such questions in captivity now... But what a price he had to pay!! Feel so sorry for all the precious lives lost in this encounter. I hope the perpetrators get the strongest punishment there is for this & other heinous crimes on their plate!

Aman, hope to see him work his magic again to rescue his buddy, CM & now BIL from this grave danger if he can... Sincerely hoping Vinod can again come to the aid of our beloved CM again... Poor Shushil, may he R.I.P. Now with Sushil gone, there will be a need for an assistant for Arnav... Maybe Vinod can fill that void left behind by Sushil... And I shudder to think what Khushi will go through when she hears of Arnav's abduction... Her asking for a goodbye kiss was so prophetic in many ways...

Shweta, a mind-blowing chapter by all accounts... It took me so many days just to pen a few thoughts down, which don't do justice at all to the fantastic chapter that this was... With every chapter I think, it has to be the best so far, but you surprise me every single time, leaving me spellbound as always... Like many others before me, I constantly worried about Khushi being harmed by Jhangid, but never in a million years did I think it could be Arnav & what an abduction I must say!! Superbly written. I had my heart pounding in my chest for a long, long time after reading it...

Since you left us all at this crucial & nail-biting juncture of the story, would it be too much to ask for a quicker update this time??
