Chapter- 1

She put her hand over the alarm to stop it, wondering why it wasn't ringing. Then she remembered it was Sunday, at last the day which she waits for the whole week. She thanked her stars for the extra sleep she was going to get. And she moved to the other side of the bed. She tightly holds the most precious gift of her life, her daughter. She saw the fragile small girl sleeping beside her and snoring lightly. She giggled looking at her. Nysa beside her had actually made her life a bit easy. She was the sole reason that she was living her life; otherwise she was all broken when her family had disowned her. Fresh tears fall from her eyes when she recalled the reason.

*Flashback*

She entered her home with her one year small child, her hands and shoulders had bruises, and her face got red marks. She was too unwell to even carry her baby. Her mother came from the kitchen. She was shocked to see her daughter's condition; she went to her and helped her with the baby. She was seeing her daughter after so long. "Sanyu what happened to you?" she asked her still not able to understand her situation. "Mom, I can't stay with that man anymore, please maa" she started crying. "Okay, but tell me how this happened?" she tried to stop her daughter from crying but herself was sobbing by seeing her condition. "Maa, he tortured me every day, I told you he was not happy having a girl child. I have tried my level best to carry this relation but I can't stay anymore with that monster" she hiccupped while telling everything. "No need to cry, we will talk to him and he will understand, everything will be fine" she soothe her. Sanyukta looked at her mother in trauma, she was about to say something. "SANYUKTA" her dad screamed from the staircase. They both stood up from the sofa instantly. "Sameer called me now, you left his house and above that you slapped him, how dare you" he yelled at her not for once looking at those bruises and marks in his daughter's body. "I told you not to send her in engineering college, but you didn't listen to me, since then she is always brought dishonour to our family" he shouted at Anju. Sanyukta tried to say something but her dad indicated her not to say a single word. "You are going back to your house now, and apologise to Sameer, and how you are going to do this I don't know. Fall on his feet, plead to him or do whatever but I don't want a single word against me" he threatened her pointing a finger towards her. But little did he know that the old Sanyukta was back, she was not going to stop with her dad's threatening or her mom's emotional blackmailing this time. "I won't go to that house ever" she said sternly. "What did you say?" he gritted his teeth. "I said I won't go back to that house" she said again with the same tone. "Then just get lost of my house, you girls are a bane to the society, neither had you kept your family happy nor your daughter is going to do that, get out of my house with this waste from my house" he shouted at top of his voice. She looked at her dad in shock; she couldn't believe with her ears what she heard, but whom she was fooling. She very well knew that her parents won't support her; they never did and today were no different day. But she never expected such cruel words from her dad, at least not for his own grandchild. She took her baby and went from there not even once looking back. Though she knew her mother was crying behind, but this time she can't look back, she had enough of them.

Present

She was lost in her thoughts when she noticed that Nysa was awake, she tightly hold her mother and smiled. "Good morning mommy" she yawned. "Good morning my baby, chalo wake up" she moved her hand on her head. "But I want to sleep more" she pouted. "Oh really?" Sanyukta smiled wickedly and started poking her. She started laughing and jumped from the bed at once.

Sanyukta was making breakfast when she got a call from Kaustuki. They both talked about random things. Kaustuki was living in Norway and was Sanyukta's college friend. They both were very close to each other. They were talking when suddenly Kaustuki told her something. "I told you about a company looking for an efficient mechanical engineer last week, guess what I send them your resume and they sent me an e-mail with an appointment letter today" she shouted at excitement. Sanyukta was not able to believe what she heard. "Sanyukta are you listening to me" She asked on the other side of the phone since not getting any response. "Huh, yeah I heard that but Kaustu how can I leave my family here" she said sadly. She hasn't talk to any of them since four years except her mother a few times, she was dead for them but she still care for them. "Sanyu they don't even came to see your face for once, why are you bothered? Every one of them is living there life, now it's your turn to complete your incomplete dream and Nysa will get good education here, what more is needed" she tried to make her understand. Kaustuki had always worked like a motivator in her life. "Okay, fine! When do I have to report there?" she asked with that confidence back in her. "That's like my fighter, till last of this week; you pack your bags and forwarding you the e-mail. I am so excited to see you and Nysa, come soon dear" she said happily. They both did a bit of chat and cut the call.

"Whose phone was it Mommy?" asked Nysa colouring her drawing book. "Kaustu aunty's phone, baby" she replied making toast in the toaster. "Then why didn't you gave me the phone, even I wanted to talk to her" she made a puppy face. "You don't have to talk to her, you can meet her now" she said happily. "How is that possible, is she coming here?" she asked. "No, we are going there" replied Sanyukta.

Ohk...this chapter was dedicated to all those women who went through "Domestic Violence" and had fight back. Respect to those ladies, they are the real Heroes in this male dominating society!

I already started hating Sameer and Mr. Aggarwal...hope they are not going to be recurrent and frequent in this ff.

Sanyukta is a fighter though started doubting that since engagement episode..nevermind that's in the show only but wait she shown some affection in this chapter too even after they disowned her. Arrrggghhh girl you have done enough now don't let your family be your weakness or Achilles heel. I am glad you made her do that.

Nysa seems a cute and intelligent little girl. I already started adoring her. Poor baby but she is strong too.I am sure she will be the central character in this story. (*Duh it has to be afterall it is HER mother we are going to read about*).

Kastuki is a sweetheart...never leaving her friend and never fails to point out obvious things ignored by Sanyukta.

OH...is this going to be based in Norway? I so love that country. Stories of Vikings, Nordic mythology are my all time favorite.Though they are not going to be here but Norway is enough for me. I can never forget my brief stay there. So loved that country.
