Twilight melted away, sunrise glow seeping over the horizon as if the light itself was being poured from a molten sun. This morning wasn't gray but by soothing lavender and brilliant amber. Finally she had come out of her past totally. She was going to start a new life today.

She woke up stretching her hands. It felt so fresh and energetic morning. She took a long breathe to feel the moment. "Good morning!" Kaustuki entered the room with a coffee mug. She smiled. "So, excited for new job?" she asked handing her the mug. "I am nervous" she pouted. "That had to be a lie, I thought there is no such word in your dictionary" Kaustuki winked. Sanyukta giggled while sipping the coffee.

"Good morning" Nysa rubbed her eyes with one hand, while her hand tightly holding her froggy. "Aww...come here, my little marsh mellow" Kaustuki picked her up at once. "Momma, its your first day in office and you are still on bed" Nysa complained in her sleepy voice. "Oh shit! I am sorry baby, mumma will get ready in few minutes" saying she rushed towards the bathroom, while Kaustuki and Nysa laughed.

She came out of the bathroom drying her hair. She went through the closet, and chose a blue with yellow border kurti with white Patiala. She combed her hairs and tied them nicely. Nysa was observing her mother. She looked different today. Her eyes sparkled with happiness. It was the first time she saw her mother happy genuinely. Its not that she had not seen her happy earlier but that happiness was limited to her. Otherwise all the time she could see lines of tension on her head. She had always prayed to god for her mother's happiness. She wanted her to be happy. She smiled dreamily looking at her mother.

"Momma, you look pretty" Nysa told her. She came near her and pecked her forehead, "Not more than you, my baby". "Sanyu, come I will drop you" Kaustuki said while taking her car keys.

The car halted near the office, she looked out of the window. I stood in total awe outside the main offices of The Sekhawat Automobiles. It made me feel so tiny & insignificant. The base of the building occupied an entire city block! Looking up, it went on & on; the top literally vanishing in the distance. She thought, "My entire home town could fit in the first floor! I hope my new job is not at the top, they probably need oxygen masks up there!" She laughed at her own sense of humour. She hugged Kaustuki and entered the office, her heart beating abnormally while her palms sweated profusely. It was not her first job, but she was still nervous. A new country, new people, everything just happened so fast, she felt like running away.

"How can I help you" came a voice from behind. She was shocked with the sudden voice, "Are you new here?" he asked looking at her nervous face. She composed herself and took a deep breath. "I am Sanyukta, appointed as new Design Engineer, can you tell me which way I have to go?" she asked. He was taken aback with the sudden change in her. "Hey I am Parth, Parth Kashyap, let me show you the way" he smiled. She followed him quietly. "This is your cabin that is your boss's cabin" he directed with his hands. "My boss?" she cocked her eyebrows. "Yes, Randhir Singh Sekhawat, he is the project head and owner of the company" he smiled. "And what about you?" she asked, realising that she had been talking to a stranger for a while. "Science isn't my thing, I manage the accounts" he explained. "You go and talk to your boss, all the best" he went away. The way he wished, Sanyukta could sense danger.

She slowly opened the door, "May I come in" she chipped. "Yeah" came a reply from inside. She entered slowly in the cabin, she saw a well built man standing near the window. He was reading a file, facing back.

"Sir, I am the new appointed Design Engineer from India" she muttered. He closed the file and moved back to looked at her. "Tum...?" they both said in unison. He glared at her. "Teri job toh gayi" she whined mentally. "Oh you are an engineer" he mocked. "Umm...yes Sir" she gulped her saliva. "Yesterday I thought you to be a jobless barrister" he spited venomously. "DAMN DAMN DAMN, why can't I control my mouth" she cursed herself mentally. "Sir I apologize for my behaviour, actually I am totally new to this place that's why I was being extra careful" she elucidated. "Whatever" he picked up the phone and dialled a number. "June, come to my cabin now" he ordered in phone. In a while, a blonde girl entered the cabin, her blonde hair was poker-straight and pulled back into a low pony tail. She was pretty with thin lips.

"June, show her cabin and give reports of all the projects we are involved in since last two years" he said typing something in laptop. "Last two years?" she cocked her brows. She knew how promptly in last two years the empire had grown, more than hundreds of deal had been signed; the company's turnover had reached heights after Randhir had taken over the post.

"Do I need to say it again?" mocked Randhir. June nodded in no and took Sanyukta with her. "This is your cabin" June smiled.

A cherry desk that seems almost superfluous, since there's little to no paperwork to be seen. A deep burgundy leather desk chair, that reclines to an almost obscene angle. There are only two small table lamps - one near the door atop a wicker table that clashes with the rest of the room's executive motif, and another on the cherry wood desk with a long brass pull-cord. The absence of overhead light casts shadows into the corners, spilling under the desk and over top the framed black-and-white pictures on the wall. Sanyukta was already in love with this cabin.
