Chapter 20: Apology accepted
She starts going out and almost reached the door when,
Randhir: Sanyukta?
Sanyu: Haan?
Randhir: Ab dard nahi ho raha hai?
Sanyu: This is just physical pain. It will gradually vanish. I was talking about emotional pain.
Randhir: Hmmm... ok. (he hesitated for a while then held out his hand) Friends?
Sanyu: Of course (she came and took his hand. They shook it for a while) Can you leave my hand? Its paining a little.
Instantly he left her hand.
Sanyu: I will get the broom. You don't go near those glass pieces. Start arranging something.
Randhir: Ok mam!
Sanyu giggled a little and walked away. Here Randhir was wondering what to arrange first. He started unpacking his suitcase. Soon Sanyu retuned with a broom and started cleaning the glass pieces. Once she was done with it, she started helping Randhir in unpacking his stuff fully. It was almost mid day by the time they had finished and there was still another bag to unpack. They were so tired that, randhir was lying down on the bed and Sanyu was leaning on the couch.
Randhir: are you not hungry? Mujhe tho bahut bhuk lagi hai!
Sanyu (complaining): why did you remind me of that? Am also hungry now!
Randhir: I will order something. What do you want? What about others?
Sanyu: I will have noodles. Kastu ko naan aur anything with aloo. Bhai will have roti. Jiggy?
Randhir: Hmmm he will have anything Indian.
Sanyu: aur aap?
Randhir: hmmm you tell me.
Sanyu: agar aapko italian pasand hai you should try this baked macroni and cheese.
Randhir: Ok done.
He placed the order and went inside the washroom to freshen up. Meanwhile, Sanyu came out and was setting the table. Soon Randhir came out, he was sitting in the sofa and was changing channels. In about half an hour's time their order was delivered. Sanyu was arrnaging the table, while Randhir went up to call Kastu, Jiggy and Ankit to have lunch. All were gorging on the food and Randhir was informing Jiggy about the loss they were gonna face if they don't get the tenders. Once they were done, Jiggy and Kastu cleaned up the table, while the other three were resting on the sofa. They went back to arrange their things.
Kastu, Jiggy and Ankit went to buy grocerries while Sanyu was helping Randhir in his room. While unpacking his backpack, Randhir found a beautiful locket in silver hanging out of a pouch in the bag. He took it in his hands immediately before Sanyu saw and slipped it in his pocket. Soon they had finished arranging the room. When they came out they found, Jiggy and Ankit stocking the kitchen with all the grocerries, while Kastu was taking care of the fridge.
It was about 6 when they had finished everything. All were lazily sitting on the sofa. Just then the door bell rang. Everyone looked at each other as to who would go and open the door. While they were fighting about it, Ankit got up and went to get the door. As soon as he opened, Vidushi and Dhwani entered the house. Dhwani was impressed by the way the house had been arranged. She saw Randhir, but didn't utter a word to him and then she saw Ankit and passed a smile to which he responded with a bigger smile. Sanyu had noticed this and had mentally noted to ask her brother about it. Within few minutes, Parth had also come back but with a severe headache.
Parth: Sanyu, please chai dedo.
Sanyu: Arey main bhi tired hoon. Vidu please?
Vidushi: I will make dinner agar ab kisine mujhe chai pilai tho.
Jiggy: Ok I will make!
Kastu: you know to make tea?
Jiggy: Tum ho na mujhe sikhane ke liye?
Kastu(blushing): haan. Chalo
In 10 minutes, they all were having an awesome tea. After sometime, Dhwani, Kastu and Ankit went up to her room to help her arrange her things, while Vidushi, parth and Jiggy were in the kitchen making dinner. Randhir got a call to attend so he went to his room. So Sanyu was all alone doing nothing, so she went out and was sitting in the lawn. She was peacefully enjoying the silence. Suddenly a voice boomed behind her which freaked her out and caused her to jump. "Sorry, that call was imprtant"
Sanyu: Aap itna sorry kyu bol rahe ho?
Randhir: Hmmm. Ek baat boloon?
Sanyu: Hum friends haina ab? So why are you asking? Just shoot!
Randhir. You can use "tum" you know. When you use aap I feel am very old. Aur waise bhi you tell only "aap" and nothing apart from that which has respect :P
Sanyu nodded her head and started laughing. Soon he too joined her.
Randhir: Chalo lets have dinner
Sanyu: haan.(started walking) Waise when are you gonna apologise to Dhwani
Randhir: In the night?
Sanyu: Don't you think you need to apologise in front of us? I mean you...
Randhir: Hmmm. Lemme think about it.
When they both entered, they saw Vidushi, Parth and Jiggy setting the table. Randhir went to help them, while Sanyu went up to call the other three. Soon all of them were seated at the dining table and started dinner.
Sanyu: So girls, how was office today?
V,D : good! Tomorrow we will be introduced to the other departments.
Jiggy: Oh good!
Vidushi: either of us might be a part of DDC project. Chances are remote for both of us. But one would definitely get it.
Parth: Awesome! Dhwani? You don't have a problem working with your brother?
Dhwani: Hmm. I dunno. I've not worked before! But I know his way of working. Very systematic, well-planned and all. Am not like that. So it might not be a good combination.
Ankit: Its good to be like that. You can achieve bigger things when you plan. But the same sould be executed as well.
Kastu: Randhir why are you so quiet? You don't like the dinner?
Sanyu nudged Randhir with her elbow asking him to reply as he was lost in some other thoughts.
Randhir: Kya?
Sanyu: She asked if you don't like the dinner
Randhir: Aisa kuch nahi hai! Its good
Jiggy: Hey RD! Are you still upset about that we might lose the 2 million dollar tender?
Dhwani:2 million dollar?
Jiggy: Yup! He was busy with that from last night and Marcus spoilt it. He's asked to redraft the tenders now.
Randhir: Well I just checked the revised tenders. It looks good. Even if we don't get it its ok.
Dhwani: What?
Randhir: Ya I lost something else more precious today.
Dhwani: Ab kya hua?
Randhir: There was a small girl who used to share everything with me. She used to hug me as soon as she came from somewhere and enquire how my day was. I got angry at her this morning and I have lost her.
His voice was so sincere that anyone would forgive him. Dhwani had tears in her eyes. She got up from her chair came up to Randhir and hugged him. He hugged her tightly and kissed her hair and apologised for being rude. Seeing this, Sanyu became emotional and went to Ankit to hug him. Ankit was shocked but later understood that she had missed him a lot this time and so had he. He soothed her and when he looked up even Kastu and Vidu were emotional.
Jiggy: Arey Kastu kya hua?
Kastu: Kuch nahi!
Parth: Girls!!!!! Har baat par emotional atyachar!
All the guys started laughing and soon became quiet as the girls were giving them deadly glares. JiKi, WanKit, VidArth , SanDhir, SanKit and RaWni! Later after chatting for a while, Ankit, Parth,Vidushi, Kastuki and Sanyu left. The trio thanked them for helping them set the house. Once they left, Jiggy and Randhir were discussing about their business while Dhwani went up to her room to call it a day.
Next day morning as usual Sanyu got up early to make breakfast. She picked up the newspaper and milk from the doorstep. Kept the newspaper on sofa and went to kitchen to boil the milk. Meanwhile she had decided to make sandwhich for breakfast, so she started cutting the required vegetables for it. In no time she had prepared the breakfast and tea. she was sitting on the sofa with her tea in one hand and newspaper on the other. As she was going to her room, she saw Ankit coming down.
Sanyu: Arey bhai! You are up? I will get some tea for you!
Ankit: Thanks Sanyu.
Sanyu brought his tea and gave it to him.
Sanyu: Bhai? Kal bahut kaam tha na?
Ankit: Haan! Been a long time since I had worked so much.
Sanyu: Hmmm. So whats cooking up between you and Dhwani?
At the mention of Dhwani, Ankit almost spit the tea he had sipped a moment before.
Sanyu: Kya hua? Or should I ask something else?
Ankit: Arey! Aisa kuch nahi. Well we just became good friends.
Sanyu: Hmmm. How?
Ankit: She started crying after Randhir spoke rudely to her. So I just tried consoling her. So..
Sanyu: Wah!! Good job bro!
Ankit: I could ask you the same about Randhir.
Sanyu: Bro!! he accepted my friend request!
Ankit: How did that happen?
She narrated the entire incident. Ankit was a little annoyed with Randhir as he had hurt his sister. But later realised that it was just an accident and also that Randhir had tended to her wounds. The brother and sister soon went to their respective rooms to get ready for the day. Whn Sanyu went to her room to get ready, she heard her cell beep indicating that she had received a message! She had received a good morning message from an unknown number! She didn't bother to reply as she thought it was a wrong msg! Soon she had her bath and came out drying her hair. She was clad in white kurti and black patiyala. She took a clip and put it on her hair losely. She took her bag, laptop and other required stuff and left the room.
All of them had assembled at the dining table including Parth. They all had breakfast and left for work. All of them were busy with their work. Ankit, Parth, Kastuki and sanyu were busy at the conference room. Sanyu had to handover her work and responsibility to Ankit and Parth. Similarly Ankit had to do the same to Kastuki. Sanyu had instructed Smitha(secretary) to divert all calls to the manager as she had a lot of work to be dealt with. It was about 3 when the decided to have lunch. As they were going out, they saw Randhir and Jiggy waiting for them at the lounge reading newspaper.
Kastuki: Jiggy? Randhir?
The two men immediately shot up their heads to see the source.
Ankit: What are you guys doing here? Any problem?
Randhir: Well check your cells!
Parth: Phone kahan hai?
Sanyukta: Mine is at home and the rest in the cabin I guess. I will ask Smitha to get all our cells.
She immediately called Smitha from the reception and asked her send the cells through a peon.
Sanyukta: Sorry guys. We were a little busy. Handing over stuff.
Jiggy: its ok. Had lunch?
Kastuki: Just going. Wanna join.
Randhir and Jiggy answered at the same time. R-no J-yes.
This left all of them confused.
Randhir: I mean we finished our lunch
Ankit: So what? Just give us company na!
Randhir was reluctant, but later he agreed when Jiggy pestered him as he wanted to spend time with Kastuki.
So they all went to Pizza Hut. All through the way Randhir never spoke a word to Sanyu. She was upset because of this. She was thinking how to make him talk to her normally again.
