"Swayam, if you tell me I did something disgusting, I swear I'll slap you before slapping myself. I mean it's so dirty in here..."
I choked on water while reading this line 🤣 I don't know why but your writing reminds me of US/UK TV series. That's a compliment btw. Maybe you watch a few yourselves. The little sarcasm you bring even in serious situations is really subtle and classy. 😎
Keep writing. Will keep reading ^_^

Reserved.
-Unreserved-
Well kudos to you for this update. The way you dealt with Sharon's character here is highly appreciable. The constant battle between her heart and mind, the chaos, the confusion & the turmoil she is going through - brilliantly penned.

SwaRon convo part was actually cute. She hiding under the table as she is nervous of her stage performance *not so Srp*
Swayam- does this kind of human species exist? The amount of love he holds for her in his heart- Unfathomable :')

The memory. Yes, now she had a flashback, a memory of them. This was really awaited.

End, my god. Climax pe end kar dia :D
Another accident & is she gonna get her memory back?

Ehehehe, excited :D

Keep writing. Update soon.

Chapter 17

"I am so sorry," Sharon kept repeating, still feeling extremely sheepish. She was a good driver for god's sake. Her instructor had told her that. She had never been in an accident because of her fault. Sharon winced as Swayam placed an icepack on her neck, more like deposited on her neck and plopped down opposite her on the couch.

Since the time she had entered his house, he had once asked what happened, looking at her clutching her neck, and after she answered, he didn't speak a word and walked away. But he kept the door open so she took it as him wanting her to come in. Somehow, she felt more apologetic to Swayam than she had felt to the driver she almost crashed into. He hadn't said a word but she would be absolutely mental to not get that he was furious, from the way he stormed around and the way he was sitting then rubbing his forehead. She had already suffered a lot of yelling from the driver, barring the fact that she yelled back though she knew she was the one at fault, she didn't have the energy to face cold treatment from Swayam. Seriously, she was there to make him happy, not have him sulk around and scowl at everything.

Sharon grabbed the ice pack and gingerly moved it around her sprained neck. How had she even managed to sprain her neck? She eyed Swayam warily, waiting for him to say something, do something other than frown at the ground and keep huffing out deep breaths.

"Swayam..." she ventured.

"How's the other woman?" he asked.

That annoyed her, wasn't he supposed to ask how she was rather than some other random person.

"Nothing much. I mean she was in a good enough condition to yell at me so... Just I... I... I broke her bumper. I mean her car's bumper, obviously." Sharon had never felt so nervous, not even when her term-end exam results were being displayed. It might be almost comparable to how she felt when she was in the final round of the dance competition in her third standard.

Sharon kept waiting for some reaction until Swayam huffed out a breath. Sharon recoiled out of reflex as Swayam got up and began pacing, occasionally making angry huffs.

"Swayam." This time Sharon demanded, "say something."
"What do I say?" he stated, turning to her, his jaw still set in an indignant fashion. "I am left speechless, really," he raised his hands in surrender, sounding frustrated. "When I think that things are going fine, something happens. Do you always have to keep me on my last nerve?"

What?

"It's either you having an asthma attack, or getting involved in some shit accident," he growled.

"Hey!" Sharon got up so fast her neck cracked making her hiss in pain. Immediately, Swayam's expression changed to concerned. "I didn't do it on purpose," she said, ignoring the throbbing in her neck.

"Does it matter? It has the same effect on me right?" he snapped, removing the icepack to see the entire area red and swollen. "I have told this to you a thousand times and I'm going to say it as long as it gets into your head," he looked at her and stated, he stated as though it was a fact just as true as sun rising in east, "I love you. And when these things happen, they affect me. I don't care you remember or not but..."

"I remember," Sharon interrupted him making Swayam stop immediately, his eyes growing wide. "That's what I wanted to come, say to you. That's why I was in such a hurry."

"You... you..." he stuttered, looking cautious, as if he was too scared to believe. Sharon hated that look. "You remember?" Sharon had never seen any guy look as vulnerable as Swayam looked in that moment.

"Yes," she whispered, the hope in his eyes knocking the breath out of her. "Not everything, but this one thing." She related everything she remembered.

Swayam frowned. "Sharon... that was just a rehearsal," he shook his head, disappointment clear in his voice. "Just a random rehearsal."

A random rehearsal. Sharon had never felt so small. The one small, random incident, which was impinged in her head in such a way that that was the first thing she remembered. She still remembered everything she had felt back then, how could it be a random moment.

"Oh," she couldn't hide her disappointment. "Okay, er... that's all I had to say."

Sharon made her way towards the door. "Sharon?" Swayam's voice made her stop.

"Is that enough?" he asked.

Sharon frowned and turned around.

"You had said that one memory would be enough for you. That you would give us a chance," he reminded her.

Sometimes she was thrown off by how much loved, this man in front of her could make her feel. It felt like she should have been used to it by now but it still surprised her every time. Her chest constricted at the thought of hurting him for so long, when he deserved everything in the world.

"Why does it never get too late? Why don't you ever move on?" the words slipped out of her mouth.

Swayam chuckled. "It will never be too late, Sharon. I will always be right beside you."

She should know that she had all of him, had always had it. She had him since the day he got to know about the heart that she so desperately wanted to protect. He could see right through her and everyday he loved her a bit more. He felt nothing but love for her when she insulted him or when she shunned him away. That was something he was never proud of but he couldn't stop feeling everything that he did. He loved her when she gave him a glimpse of her heart.

"I have struggled so much to gain a piece of your heart, and when you give it to me, why should I say it's too late."

Sharon was dumbstruck, but the thing was she believed every word that he said. Because Swayam was just that kind of a boy. She couldn't think of any such thing to say to him, but she knew he deserved more than that. He deserved having thousands and thousands of sonnets being written about him.

"I want to love you again," was all she could gather, guilty of her own feelings, of her own insecurities. But she knew Swayam had a habit of being kinder to her than she was to herself.

"That's all I want for now," he said before taking her in his embrace. She had never felt so content and complete in her life.

Sure, she wasn't sure if she loved him yet, but she knew she would in time. It was absolutely impossible not to.

Some things were bound to happen one way or other. Their love was one of those things.
