Rey came home all happy and excited, it was quite obvious that his day couldn't have been any better, his thoughts started with her and ended on her. she had offered him another smile today, infact, he couldn't count the number of times she had smiled today. Smiled for him.
And no matter where he went, he could find her, sometimes she were sitting on the chair, beaming. Sometimes she were lying on his bed, staring at him, and laughing. Sometimes he would find her sitting on his desk, close to him. and no matter what he did, or what he said, she was always playing soccer in her head, she was always there and he couldn't just understand what was wrong with his system.
"You are Lo-ooovvveee" Anurag sang "You are in Lo-ooovveee"
"Someone is in Lo-ooovvveee" Anurag sang.
"Will you shut up? There's nothing like that. It's just probably lust" he said
"Rey and Kriya, sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G" Anurag sang over and over again.
While Rey was unusually tempted for the night to take over, he was waiting to see her again, he was counting minutes to see her. even though her face seemed to be glued in his head, she was smiling, looking at him.
"Then I hope you remember the way to my house" her words rang in his ears, making him go insane with her thoughts that seemed to explode in his head.
"Rey and Kriya, Sitting in her windowsill, K-I-S-S-I-N-G" Anurag continued to sing.
"Will you shut up?" he said
"Not when you're so lost dear peterpeterpan" Anurag said.
Rey shot him a glare. It was finally the night when he finally had some peace and thought about her, the memories. They seemed to cause an explosion in his head, replaying themselves, replaying her face, the image was clear and she was always smiling, but there were times, when he thought about her sad spears, no matter how much she smiled, he could never get enough, but there were certain things about her, which he needed to know, he needed to ask her about them, like, was there anything that bothered her? he didn't know.
Plus, he has certain respect for her, like, she was the only woman who had never been so explosive while showing her interest in him. She never asked him to take her out, or never asked many questions or conveyed her affection. And she was her ideal woman. She was everything you would want, beauty, brains, quiet, and she had a certain grace which blossomed.
It was again, past one when he stepped out in order to meet her, he was excited by the anticipation. He could already imagine a thousand scenarios of her in his arms, her midnight hair scattered on the pillow while he lied next to her, content, and observing her beauty, complementing it.
He walked around some streets, and finally, stood infront on her house, waiting for her to come out, patiently waiting for her to catch his eye. But he could not find her. the lamp was left on but she was nowhere to be seen, and it was some moments later when he felt haste, he wanted to see her, he had been waiting for it, but now, she was no where to be found, and he found this to be completely unfair.
He stood there, almost devastated. He wanted to shout out her name, and call her, but was afraid that it might invite her some unwanted problems if he did that. he came to a conclusion that she maybe, slept, while reading or drawing something. He walked silently back to his house and thought all about it. did she didn't want to see him again? but he knew she would have come and told him if that was the reason. silently, and discontentedly he went to bed, not making any attempt to awaken Anurag.
She peeked out of her widow and found him walking away, yes, this was the best for both of them, she thought. Her parents were never going to accept him, and she would be badly punished if they caught her talking to any guy except his brothers.
In her mind, the conversation did continuous loops.
" She was sitting on the dining table, eating her food silently with the rest of her family. She was being discussed on the table, as usual, today the topic was Singh ji's son, who her parents wanted as a son in law. She didn't have the privilege of speaking, which was also usual.
"I heard you met a guy at the boutique today?" her brother questioned.
She sat numb, pale, wondering how on earth he would know. "He was a school friend" she timidly said
"Friends don't pay for you" his brother said.
"I don't know how I met him, and how he recognised me. We used to be good friends in school." She urgently gave an explanation "And about paying thing, he insisted."
"So that means you would have gladly gone with him if he had insisted" her mother was now speaking
"Why are you mixing two completely different things together?" she said "I'm grown up and I do know how to take care of myself"
"You speak too much" her brother commented.
"And now onwards if you come across a school friend, tell him that you were homeschooled" his father ordered.
She nodded, another word meant staying grounded for two weeks, which was something she definitely didn't want.
"We don't want guys around you" her father said "get this straight into your encrypted brain, you are not allowed to talk to males"
She nodded again, and left the dining space without another word. She was not allowed to talk to boys, she couldn't really understand whether she was a twenty one year old lady or a highschool teenager.
She dug her head into the pillow, and once again, cried herself to sleep. It was past one when she woke up, and the first thing she thought about was him. she knew he would be there, waiting for him, but she didn't want any more complications in her life, she knew she already meant the world to him and she knew it would hurt but maybe that's something she wanted. She wanted her world to collapse, she shut down her lamp, and wanted everything to be as dark as possible, it was then when she looked out of the window and found walking back.
She fell on her pillow again, closed her eyes and drifted to sleep, wishing not to wake up tomorrow for some or the other reason.

He was now stressed. Ever since that day, he had never seen her again, although she was always with him, hopping in his mind, smiling, laughing and loving him. but he was stressed because she was nowhere to be seen, and it now felt like something, he dwelled to live upon, something which his heart craved for, and now when he couldn't find her, he was being tensed. He could not understand what he was supposed to do, he knew he wanted to see her and he knew she felt the same way as he did, but he was afraid, scared that this might invite some unwanted problems for her.
Anurag had been constantly asking him to forget about her, all he said was "If it's true, she will come"
But he knew it was love, it had to be love, when you think about a person for five days constantly, it had to be love when whatever you do would remind you of them, it had to be love when her smile was everything you depend upon. He closed his eyes, "I know it's love, it's intense, this, what I feel, is love. And I'm sure of it, because no matter what, she's the only person my day begins with and my day ends with"
It was driving him crazy, he had not seen her since a week, he had not heard her earring tinkle and her bangles hum, her observant eyes staring, her midnight tresses, the grace which seemed to live within her, and he could not just believe the fact that she was affecting him in more ways than one.
He stood there silent, his eyes close, and all he could see amid the darkness was her face, her large eyes and the little sharp nose, pink lips, and domesticity that drove him crazy.
He wanted more of her, he wanted to see her. he popped open his eyes, wishing, wondering if he could find her any where near himself. But the answer was brutal no.
Her eyes were red, she had been crying, crying for him. her eyes looked bawled out and her face was pale and lifeless, she stared out of her window, as if wishing for him to magically appear, but she was accepting the fact that he had given up on her, he had given up trying to reach to her, wasn't that what she wanted? Then why was she feeling so discontent? she closed her eyes, and found her eyelids to be painful and heavy, she let herself fall back on her pillow in order to finish another round of crying.
Her demons ruled her head, and as she closed her eyes, his face appeared, looking at her with those dark deep eyes, holding that avid gaze, as though taking her in. but it was then when she realized that she might not ever see his face again, that she might only see him in the mind's eye, she wanted to keep staring at him forever, although her demons danced in her head, and kept ranting that she was never going to see him again but-
It was a loud thud which forced her to open her eyes, hastily, she sat up looking down her window.
It had been a ritual for him to go and keep a check on her atleast once a day, which was almost always past one in the night, he walked around her house wondering if she were asleep or was she awake? If she was awake, was she thinking about him?
Several questions ran through his head, but there was always a slight hope, a hope that she might look at him, atleast once, that she might look down her window and smile. Smile for him.
And here he was again, walking down her street, looking at her house, and wondering, wishing if she would look down, just once, so that he could atleast ask her if she was fine. He stood outside her house in numb silence, nothing except the crickets spoke, and nothing except the silence vibrated in the air.
His hands were tugged in his pockets, and he was about to turn back and go away but, something caught his attention.
She.
He could hear muffled sounds, and he was not a fool to not understand where those sounds came from. He could hear, silent muffled sounds of sobs and nothing in the world could stop him from not climbing her wall and jumping in her room. he had to.
He was determined to see her today, even if she would ask him to get out, or go away, he would just ask her if she was fine, he jumped from her boundary, up to her room, but something caught his leg and it slipped, and he was now just hanging down her window, using one of his hands, it was that moment when she appeared, her eyes which bored into his, along with a layer of kohl, now looked bawled out with a layer of tears inside them, her face was pale and looked pretty much lifeless, her hair were pulled out into a bun and her fringe was scattered over her face, she looked in a horrible and he felt for her, he wanted to ask, but thought that this might not be the perfect time to do so.
"Give me a hand" he hushed, she nodded and pulled out a hand, which helped him to climb up the French window.
He panted, but his eyes were fixed on her, he was staring at her, studying her face, the face which he used to love looked so pale, as though it were nothing but crumpled paper, "You've been crying" he said.
She gave a brief nod. "Why?" he asked, his voice was mere whisper, barley audible to himself. He looked pained, it was hurtful to see her in his state, her eyes were swollen due to the continuous crying and he didn't like it at all. he liked her plump large eyes, and he was missing them, especially now, when she was looking at him, her eyes boring into his, as though they belonged there.
"I-err-have my reasons Reyaansh" she said, now looking at something else. "You shouldn't be here you know, I'm not allowed to let males in"
She was looking at the pink wall and it was getting more and more frustrating for him to look at her in this state, he could sense the rigidness in her voice, as though it would break any moment now. As though, she was going to fall to pieces, but the fact that irritated him the most was that she was trying to hide it from him, when she knew that he was always going to be there, that he was always going to take care of her no matter what. "Would you look at me and tell me what's wrong please?"
His voice was stubborn but she was not a fool to not understand the underpinned sadness in it, there was a layer of emotion added to it which she knew she couldn't ignore, she wanted to look at him, and she was surprised at how much pleasure she could feel just by looking at him. he was everything she needed.
"Reyaansh" she said and was shocked to see how his name could silence all her demons. "I have my reasons"
She looked away but he was determined to make her look at him, he was determined to get his answers, he demanded to know what had happened, he demanded her to voice out whatever had happened, he was ready to take it all. Just for her.
With his large fingers, he held her little chin, so that their eyes were in collision "Don't you get it Kriya? Don't you still get it? I Love You, and I know that Love is just about the attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection and little tiny bit of formality and I'm in love with you" he spoke out so fast that it was hard for her to make out what exactly he was saying
"And I'm in love with everything you do, right from your earrings which tinkles, to your bangles which hum. I'm in love with your eyes, that stare deep into mine, your midnight tresses, your little hands, your sharp nose, that sleek waist, and that layer of kohl-I'm in love with all, all of you" he finished.
His eyes were now little, staring into hers, expecting a reply, expecting something. But moreover his eyes were frightened, with a spark of hope, that she might say something. His eyes looked so dark that she was scared, frightened that she might hurt him.
"You're saying that because you don't know anything" she said "Only if you knew, you wouldn't have just said that"
Her eyes were almost teary, they were little balls of emotions now, staring into the void, as though, they would break down. He held her gently by shoulders and made her turn to him.
"So tell me, tell me what is it that you think might change my feelings for you" he said
She closed her tired eyes, and scrunched them together, as though recalling the memories was painful, she was taking time, and he didn't have a problem with it, he wanted her to take her time, he was in no hurry. He was ready to wait for her, forever.
She opened her eyes slowly then said "It's been years, It my graduation from school. My farewell. That's when it happened" she said and he could guess it by the expression in her eyes that it was something miserable, she continued "The school was empty, and everyone was out dancing, and having fun. But that's when it happened, I went to the washroom, I thought I could take care of myself, but maybe, I couldn't"
"What happened Kriya?" he asked, his eyes were fixed at her face, and the sorrowful expression never left his face
"He leapt up. I was, uhm, molested. When I was seventeen, but what could I have possibly done? He was, he was so strong and I-I could not do anything, you're getting me right?" she asked, she faced him and then she burst into tears, he held her little face in his large hands. It was being hurtful, it was hurtful to know that she had been through so much and he wasn't there to help her, he wasn't there to stop it from happening to her. He closed his eyes and linked his forehead to hers.
"Don't cry" he hushed "It's okay"
"And the worse part is, that everyone, everyone in my house treats me like a criminal whose set free. They still think tha-that its all my fault, that's its all-all because of me"
Her sobs were getting louder and he could not do anything to stop them, he hugged her, he was going through the same heartache, he loved her and he knew she loved him too, and it was not pity that he was feeling, and what he really was feeling couldn't be defined in words as well, he felt for her, he wanted to cry with her, and it was not that he thought that if he cried she might think he was weak or something, it was just that he knew, that if he wept, he would be making her even more weaker than she already was.
And he was here to support her, to make her believe that he was ready to erase her past and create the beautiful future that they both deserved.
His hands were pressed on her waist, pulling her closer, pulling her more into him, her sobs had turned so loud that he was afraid, but he knew it was necessary, he knew it was necessary for her to cry, and get it all out of her system, he stroked her hair, while she dug her face into his chest and cried as much as she could, she cried for everyone to hear, all these years, she had to hold her stomach, so that no one would hear, but now, with him holding her, supporting her, she was not afraid, she was not scared anymore.
"It isn't like I-I could have done some-something right? I did n-not welcome it my-myself, so why should I bear the punishment?" she was crying so much that it was hard for her to speak.
She broke away from him, as when she was sure that she was okay, she felt light, and better. She felt as though she finally belonged somewhere and she finally had someone for her, someone she could call her own, and someone she could truly trust, without any hesitation or keeping anything back.
His T-shirt was now wet, due to all the tears which she cried. "Th-Thankyou" she muttered "I've ruined your shirt."
"Forget the shirt" he said, she was looking constantly away, staring at the wall or the void space "Look at me Kriya"
She was stunned to hear the possessiveness and the sense of command in his voice, she was rather thrilled, she lifted up her heavy eyelids, only to find him waiting, waiting to hear it all, but she had no more to say, she was already very grateful that he was here.
"Just get it straight, whatever happened, does not change the way I feel for you." he looked at her, straight into her eyes. He pulled out his hand and pulled her cheek lovingly then said
"I love you, for all that you are, all that you've been, and all that you're ever going to be" he said "I mean it Kriya, I love you"
Her eyes were observant, and there was a ghost of smile approaching her lips. And even before she could try to hide it, he was smiling too. "Do you Kriya?" he asked "Do you love me?"
"I'm afraid I'm not allow-" she was interrupted
"Do you Kriya?" he asked her again.
"I'm not allowe-" she was again interrupted
"Kriya just me tell me if you do or you don't" he said, he was staring deep into her eyes, and it was like taking hot dives, into frozen winds, because her mind was confused with what if's and his heart kept consoling him that she will.
She was staring at him, all her life, she had lived following rules and doing what others say, but it was hightime when she had to live for herself, do whatever her heart says and break some rules, and most of all feel alive, not like a tamed puppy. "I was accepting the truth, when you came, I was accepting the truth that it was all because if me, but then, you happened. I never thought I would see you again Reyaansh, I did think that you gave up. But Our Stars Reyaansh, really are crossed. Isn't it one hell of a co incident? You love me, and I love you too?" she grinned.
And it felt like, her smile was something he needed to live, something his life dwelled upon. He held her in his arms, and they were truly lucky, a man and woman with their hearts beating together, living for the same purpose which is, to stay together, are truly lucky.
