Part-4

All the boys were busy in their own work. Srutakirti was polishing his sword beside Iravan. Since Iravan's arrival the two brothers had developed a strong bonding. Srutakirti had introduced Iravan to his brothers and cousins with whom he had to share his tent. Iravan was respected as an elder brother but none of them talked to him much. Iravan was used to being solitariness and used to spend his time improving on his skills. Srutakirti looked up to Iravan for guidance. Iravan's other brother Abhimanyu was a charming young lad. They had interacted more than once and Iravan was impressed by his skill and his humble, jovial and caring nature. His cousins were adorable and hard working but kept to themselves.

It was nighttime when Iravan walked out of the tent. He stood under the starlit sky taking in the breeze. He looked up to the heaven, ever expanding.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Iravan was startled to hear a voice behind him. It took Iravan some time to recognize the outline of the man. He bowed to the emperor and spoke "It is a charming night Your Highness"

"Tatshri. Call me Tatshri my son. I am your uncle."

"Ji Jyesht Tatshri."

"You know Iravan I watch the sky every night. Gives me peace in troubled times to know that my father is somewhere up there. That he is watching my steps, that he is helping me to look after our family. He left me a huge responsibility as a child. I love to be with them- my family. But we have to take some very difficult decisions in our life. At these times is really helpful to know that someone is up there, watching."

"You miss your father tatshri?"

"I do. Don't you?"

"I do not know him well enough to miss him. My mother is my world, always was and always would be."

"No son. Don't give up on your father's affection so soon. It is cruel to keep a father away from the son as much as it is cruel to keep a son away from the father. Go and talk to Arjuna again. He was surprised at first. Maybe he wants to talk to you now and doesn't know what to say."

"What shall I tell him Tatshri?"

"Go to him. Conversations tend to build by themselves."

"All right tatshri. I will meet him again tomorrow."

"Okay! Go and give yourself some rest. War starts tomorrow. It's going to be a long day."
