Part 43:
"Rey" Came a voice from behind ruining the entire moment. Everybody turned towards the source of the voice. On seeing a woman stand at their doorstep spread confusion on their faces. Kriya stood up the instant she saw that woman. As realization dawned upon her, her heart started racing. She was the same woman who kissed Rey in the mall. She crossed her fingers hoping that nothing wrong will happen.
"What are you doing here?" Rey asked being shocked at her entry.
"Rey...I mean Reyansh you weren't picking up my calls since morning. I was worried a lot. I had a doctor's aapointment today and you didn't turn up. I just wanted to check on you." She answered.
"I told you not to come here then why the hell did you come here?" Rey asked raising his voice scaring Kaira.
"Kaira go upstairs baby. Mommy will join you in some time." Kriya said.
"Rey she is the same woman at the mall, isn't she?" Kriya questioned him.
"Wait a minute. Will some one tell me whats going on? And what's this mall woman story and what about the doctors appointment." Preeti questioned.
"Uh mom...umm..." Rey stutterd.
"You didn't tell them anything Reyansh?" That lady questioned.
"What do you mean by that?" Kriya asked in utter confusion.
"Kriya its nothing important. We'll talk about this later. And you Payal get out of my house now." Rey said harshly ordered that lady, whose name is Payal.
As Payal was about to leave Kriya stopped her. "Wait a second Payal. Rey I know there's something that you are hiding. You have to tell us Rey." Kriya said in a stern tone.
"Kriya...there...there's nothing to..tell...trust me." Rey tried to convince her.
"Why don't you just spit out the truth Reyansh?" Payal suggested in an uninterested tone. As soon as these words escaped her mouth Rey shot a sharp look in her direction.
"Rey why are you trying to hide it?" Kriya asked with a disappointed look.
Words refused to come out of his mouth. He didn't understand what to say.
"Will anyone tell me whats going on?" Rey's dad demanded raising his voice.
"I guess it's time we tell them." Payal suggested. Rey motioned her to shut her mouth but she didn't bother listening to him.
"I am pregnant with Reyansh's child." She finally said. Everyone's faces were filled with utmost shock. It was as if someone dropped a bomb on them.
"What did you just say?" Kriya asked more like a whisper.
"I said I am pregnant with Reyansh's child." Payal said firmly. To Kriya her world seemed to shatter into pieces. She was immensly in love with this man and to him she didn't mean anything. She was almost on the verge of confessing her love and the least she expected is to hear such news. She couldn't believe that he got another woman pregnant. She couldn't believe he cheated on her. The last thing she expected is him cheating on her. She considered him as an ideal husband but he was far away from being an ideal husband.
The sound of a slap brought her back to present. Dhruv had slapped Rey. Rey's head hung low with shame. He had nothing to defense himself.
"Rey I didn't expect this from you. How could you do such a cheap thing. I feel ashamed of you." His father yelled at him and left. Preeti didn't understand what to do. She didn't expect Rey to do such a cheap thing. She shook her head with disappointment and left the place shedding tears. He always made his parents proud of him but today seeing a look of disbelief and disappointment pained him a lot.
He looked at Kriya who was staring at him with disbelief and a hurtful expression. He tried to call her name but his voice suddenly refused to come out. Without saying a word Kriya left upstairs.
