Part 7
Classroom:
A tear rolled down her cheek, Sanyukta glanced at the paper that was lying infront of her on the desk. The paper was wet and soggy, that's when she realised that she had been crying throughout the whole lecture. She was brought out of the trance by Vardhan's voice.
"You can leave now, students."
Sanyukta wiped her face and stood up to retire from the chair.
"Miss Aggarwal, I want you to stay back." Said Vardhan in a cold voice. The whole class left the room, the only people present in the room right now were Vardhan and Sanyukta. She approached Vardhan and spoke.
"Yes, sir?"
"Well, Sanyukta... I've been noticing that you aren't paying attention to the lectures and that's going to affect your grades, if there's a problem you can tell me, I'll sort it out for you." Bellowed Vardhan.
"Sir, the people I trusted the most have left me, I wouldn't expect anything from anyone." replied Sanyukta as she smiled sadly and left the room.
Vardhan bent down and placed his hands on the same table that Sanyukta had been crying on. He stood there witnessing his own tears meeting up with the miniature puddle of tears that was formed on the desk beforehand.
Boys hostel:
Aryaman was sitting infront of the desk doodling on the paper when Randhir flung the door open and barged in. Aryaman stayed silent and studied his body language, Randhir looked upset for some reason. Aryaman realised he had to talk to Randhir about something and he began.
"Randhir, I need to talk to you."
"I'm not in the state right now, can we discuss it later." Shrugged Randhir.
"Randhir, it's really important, or else it wouldn't have disturbed u, dude...try to understand. Explained Aryaman as he stood up from his chair. Randhir frowned and passed a questioning look to Aryaman.
"Randhir it's about Sanyukta" revealed Aryaman.
Randhir couldn't stand it, he stood up, his hands were rolled in fists, why was Aryaman so worried about Sanyukta!? Why does he even care about her so much? Why did they hug!?...
"Sanyukta has been really..." Started Aryaman but was cut off by Randhir.
"Aryaman, why the hell are you worried about Sanyukta so much? You've only met her few days ago. Why so much care, haan?
"Randhir it's nothing like that." Replied Aryaman facing away from Randhir. Randhir went and stood infront of him.
"Answer me god dammit!!!" Shouted Randhir. Aryaman went and sat on the chair trying to avoid him. Randhir followed Aryaman to his destination, he leaned over him and asked.
"Are you lying to me? I saw you hugging her yesterday, why are you worried about her?" He asked in a dominating voice.
"Because I love her" spoke Aryaman as he jumped off the chair. Randhir was taken aback, this was probably one of his worst fears, he didn't know why he felt the way he did. He couldn't tackle with anything at this moment and decided to leave.
"Randhir..." Called Aryaman, but it was too late, Randhir had already left.
Girls hostel:
Kaustuki and Arpiya were not present in the room, Sanyukta was sitting on the floor reviving her childhood memories through an album. She was looking at a photo lovingly, it was from the time she was 6.
Flashback
Sanyukta was struggling on the bicycle, she had got her first one, she was so excited, but the worst part was that she had no idea how to ride a bicycle. Her parents were standing near the end of the drive-way clicking photos of her. Sanyukta was approaching them, riding the bicycle nervously.
"Maa, I'm scared I'm gonno fall." She managed to squeal before her bicycle started to tilt side-ways. Mr Aggarwal ran to her and held the bicycle.
"Say cheese" said Mrs. Aggarwal still standing at the same spot with a smile on her face.
End of flashback
"Sanyukta" muttered Randhir standing near the door, initially...he wanted to confront Sanyukta with every question he had in his mind but after looking at the state she was in, he decided to drop that idea.
Sanyukta looked up as a tear rolled towards her neck. Randhir went inside the room and sat next to Sanyukta on the floor.
"Why did this happen?" She sobbed as he looked at her sympathetically. He didn't know why but he felt bad for her.
"I dont know what to do." She wailed
"It will be okay, I mean you always have a shoulder Sanyukta."
She looked at him and tilted her head like a confused dog. "I do?" She mumbled with a spark of hope.
Randhir pulled her to his warmth and spoke softly in her ear, "YOU HAVE ME"
Sanyukta smiled sadly with twinkling tears falling from her face. She clutched his shirt and buried her face in his chest.
