Chapter 3:
Khushi Kumari Gupta has everything a guy wished for. She had the deadly combination of beauty with brains. Not only that, but at the young age of 28, Khushi was one of the best corporate lawyers in the city with whom every firm wanted to work. She was successful in her career but it wasn't presented to her on a silver plate. She had studied hard to achieve scholarship to go abroad to study law and after few years she was back to India with her degree of law in her hands.
She was outspoken. Many people called her rude but she had never ever restricted herself from speaking her mind. When one of her mother's friend told her not to wear western clothes, she had told her that if she didn't mind her wearing bright traditional saris then she shouldn't ask her to change her style of clothing too. She wasn't a traditional girl. She wore clothes according to her choice, she made friends whom she liked no matter if their eyebrows were pierced or their arms were full of tattoos. If they were nice to her, then she'll be nice to them. Her mother had always scolded her for her scandalizing behavior but she had never placed her foot down and had been firm on her beliefs. Her father knew she was young and she wanted freedom but he also had trust in her that she was never ever going to disappoint them.
She was a sensitive girl that cried watching emotional movies but she was as much as strong for when her father had gotten a minor heart attack, instead of sitting in a corner and crying, she had took up charge of the situation and made sure that her father received the best treatment. Her father had proudly declared her the son of their house. Though her father owned a restaurant and earned pretty well but still she forced him to keep that money aside for saving and spent every penny on their that she earned.
Studying hard and being responsible didn't mean, she missed out all the fun in life. She was anything but boring. She had worked two part time jobs but at the end had enough money saved to go out on trips with her friends. She loved travelling and she made sure that she saw every place that was in her reach. She wanted to try everything new and she did. She had once gotten drunk just to see what it felt like but had decided the next morning after a terrible hangover that never was she going to touch alcohol not because it wasn't right, because it tasted bad! She had sneaked out in nights to meet her friends only to be caught by a scandalized mother and a grinning father. She had gatecrashed weddings for fun and danced like crazy. In short, she had done everything.
Everything but love. It's not like she was a typical girl who waited for the right guy. She didn't meet a guy who could impressed her. She had been asked out many times but she had never had those feelings for any one of them so she had politely denied. She wasn't looking for some prince charming but she wanted someone who would make her feel special. Her mother had worried about her marriage but she had once very calmly told her that she'll marry when she wants to so she needs not to worry.
Khushi had met Raizadas in a party where her father had introduced them knowing Anuj Raizada from before. Dhruv and she had become instant friends given to their cheerful nature and Anuj had also been impressed by her. Aarav had taken time to warm up to her but after some time he also couldn't resist the charm of his khushi di. Though she had heard a lot about Arnav, she had only seen him in person at a dinner at Raizada Mansion and had felt her heart beat quicken. He was handsome, for sure but she had liked him for different reasons. Anuj uncle had told her proudly how he had rose up to the position he was in now and she respected him. Slowly she started observing him a little too much. She had stared at him from the corner of her eyes for the longest times and decided that soon she'll tell him about her feelings. So what if he doesn't feel the same way? She would obviously take a chance not to regret ten years later seeing his super model wife and a bunch of look-alike kids that if only she had spoken her feelings.
Raizadas had come at her place to ask for her hand in marriage and when Aarav had innocently said that he wanted Khushi to be his mother, she had instantly said yes. She was sure of her feelings for Arnav and had assumed that Arnav also liked her and it was him who had sent the proposal for her. A small corner of her heart wished she had asked Arnav before the marriage. If Arnav was wrong in not telling her about his view on their marriage then she was wrong too. She had never bothered to tell him about her feelings for him or never asked him as to why did he agree for this marriage.
Well, it's not too late now. She had never backed out from a challenge. Be it anything, if she had decided on something then she made sure she achieved it. If he was Arnav Singh Raizada then she was also Khushi Arnav Raizada. She would make sure she makes this marriage work and that was only possible if she makes him fall in love with her. So, here she comes. Beware Mr. Raizada!
