Read the whole story again before rereading this part again... And I knew I will love it even more and appreciate it even more when I look at it from arnav's perspective that why he's adamant on giving up and letting her go when he made her to be with him under all circumstances and at any cost before and also from khushi's perspective how she'll handle him now that she's in the knowledge of his past and his pain and genuine trust issues...
Both arnav and khushi have grown as persons all this while, their marriage taught them a lot even though unknown to them... and it's more profound in arnav's case... He didn't what marriage entails, what to expect our of loving someone but he in his own way kept his end of the bargain... Whereas He was ready to let go of her before their marriage because he was hurt that destiny again played tricks with him and did not want to get too involved in it before its too late but didn't realise that it was and it will be hard to let her go but jumps at the first opportunity he gets, actually manipulates an odd situation in his favour to keep her with him... But now, it's his guilt talking, it's his love talking, he wants to free her from him, for her sake, although mistaken, but he wishes to do what he thinks is best for her cuz she asked to be left alone, though in anger and frustration, but when was he the master at reading through emotions and words... So he decides and insists that she gets going, ahead in her life, away from him, while he was slowly and discreetly turning into a living hell, on the verge of entering that dark phase again from where his father brought him out with so much difficulty... But he won't let her pity him again and nurse his injuries... But this is where he was again mistaken as far as khushi is concerned... It's rightly said behind a successful man there's a woman and now khushi will make him come out from this world of self pity where he thinks he's not meant for love or relationships or his family's genuine care but only for someone's pity... Khushi only needed this much understanding of her husband to know and make him believe that he's such a strong person, that he's a winner to survive all that that life gave him, his dearest and most trustworthy relationship gave him but made a strong come back... Professionally he achieved this feat in life but it's khushi who will make him believe in himself as a strong person, as a good soul that despite facing cruelt of fate he is someone that people would adore him for fighting it out so well... That they are proud of him for what he is, his family is proud of him, his wife is proud of him, she looks upto him as her support system, as her protector and seeks refuge in his arms and wants to shower her pure love on him... And this will bring to him the belief that there's hope for him, that he's very much entitled to and destined to get a fair chance at life, at a normal life, with her... The foundation of Her unconditional and irrevocable love is so strong that it will never ever let him belive that this is unreal or momentary or not meant for him... He can now believe with each passing day that khushi is his and he is hers... Cuz there ain't any other way, that destiny or khushi will have it...
I love khushi how she came so far for him, physically and emotional lly, to meet him not half way but by crossing the bridge till the very end where he's standing... She's has matured up as a woman in this marriage and knows though it's not easy and will take every ounce of patience and all the love she has in her heart for her husband, her life... it's worth it... And she can not let this go away. She cannot let him go away. Knowing that he wants her and she can't live without him... And specially after his words (about their marriage) and her pictures on the wall have confirmed it manifolds... Khushi is a real fighter and I am so happy she succeeded in getting her happiness, her husband back...
I just hope arnav tells her in words rather than actions and indirect hints that he loves her... Khushi deserves it...
I really liked -
Arnav's soliloquy about his guilt and pain in letting khushi go..
The days and hours khushi counted after which she heard his voice and how soothing it must be too her.
Arnav's reaction on seeing her out of the blue at his doorstep, in NY!
How sometimes we want something to just finish off but not wanting it at the same time.
How khushi tells him to believe her, literally tired of everything , and how she's has done everything in her power and now he has to decide if HE WANTS HER OR NOT...
Arnav saying "you don't know what want" and khushi's "u don't get to tell me what I want"
Good that she cleared Mr RR angle once and for all. And the limp, it does not matter to arnav and not me either... I love her... But it just shows everyone has that fear in their heart that their shortcomings should not be a reason for the pity from someone whom they love or a bother for them either... Very natural, just like arnav's although of much higher magnitude in his case...
And the feelings those picture arouse in khushi, oh they brought happy tears in my eyes...
This chapter was beautiful..
