Perfectly Matched
I shiver under the snow. These were like huge stones of ice falling from the dark clouds. After struggling with the umbrella, I've given up opening this damn thing, but fortunately I've grabbed my coat before running out from home. The white bits of snow stuck into my hairs, I kneel down the floor and raise my head up the border of the restaurant's large window. A glint of hope shines on my face and I have my usual radiant smile quirking up the corners of my lips. I observe them with this delightful instinct. "They look so good together. They form the perfect couple." He is the celeb bachelor with stylish attitude and she is the sophisticated down to earth diva. In other words, perfect marriage material who can handle an intolerable human like Arnav Singh Raizada. In my head, begins this usual mantra, "please make this the last dinner, make this the last dinner, please god". My jaw drops when the waiter brings the bill to their table. Raizada pays the bill and I find myself shouting severely behind the huge sound-proof window, "no... no... no... Raizada, do not pay this bill, I forbid you, it's not even dessert time". When I finally realize the oddness of the situation, I look from the corners of my eyes towards the few pedestrians whose gazes were fixed on me. I fake a thousand watt smile which looks anything but real, clear my throat and say, "It's my treat today!". I hiss a sound of relief when they walk away indifferently. Turning my gaze back to table 21, my eyes pop out when the perfect couple seems to have disappeared. Slowly I turn my head towards the restaurant's main door with the wish that I've stayed back into my couch instead of poking my nose into Raizada's dinner date. His back facing me, he shakes hand with those of Lavanya, the one whom I was sure could be the perfect match for him. I look from right to left, but shit, I can't seem to find any hideout. I turn onto my toes silently and take one huge step away. But it was bound to happen. I slip and fall flat on the pavement. It's destiny, again! The only difference is that this time he didn't catch me before I met the ground. Lavanya was walking away and "thank you god" she missed seeing myself as a laughing stock. But this was not the case for Raizada. He turns and lowers his eyes to the ground. An amused smirk on his face, he bends his knees and leans towards me as he says, "you never get tired of being Khushi Kumari Gupta, aren't you?".

Author's Note
Hey everyone,
Hope you all doing fine, I know I'm being very irregular on the forum these last few days, but what to do, real life sucks sometimes!
I've come up with a new story... Perfectly Matched is a light and fun story, I badly needed it with these hectic days going on my mind. I thought of an OS but I wanted to give a teaser first and when I realized, the part I've written was already long enough to become a first part instead of a teaser. So here it is, it's going to be 2 or 3 shots maximum. Enjoy!
Love,
Aicha
