Well I did not expect that to be a deal breaker. The chapter was despairing to read, you got us exactly where you wanted us to be. Why go to end to a spectrum to get things right? She almost ended up paying a price for being innocent and unpretentiousness, the very things because of which he fell for her. Their life is indeed filled with bad timings and untimely confession all rolled in one single concoction. Do I feel sorry for her? not exactly.. Since she has sorted out her mind way back that she had a crush on him, she should have maintained the same attitude no matter how tired or frustrated she was feeling. She wanted to give him some words of comfort then revealing her crush would have been suffice. I was disappointed with her reply of 'Nothing can be changed now', it almost sounds like she wishes otherwise, that she made some sort of compromise out there.
I was always in a tug of war between who is the better contender for Khushi. I am glad that this update clearly defined Arnav as a way better man between the two. The fact that Rishabh was aware of her crush but was not man enough to imagine a life with a limping girl. It clearly etched out that in his eyes she was lacking something and indirectly not his equal. He kept her hopes up too with his flirtatious behaviour but kept her at a distance at the same time. Its indirectly points to his duplicity of nature, at the same time expecting her to fall in line when he feels that he is up for it, not caring that his indifference might have hurt her. Arnav is many things but he is very in your face person. When he hated her, he hated her with passion and made no bones to hide his dislike for her from her or others. He is not hesitant to let others know if he is displeased with them, he does not pretend to be something which he is not. Arnav was a way better man and individual any day, thank you for getting us over our 'injustice against Rishabh' line of thought.
Khushi was stepping on too many stones in here, she was bound to fall hard in the end. You know the feeling that when you try too hard to praise everyone, you may just come across as sounding phoney. Khushi gave Arnav something precious with her words of love. But today she took away their essence by sharing those with other man. Arnav is mature enough to understand that she may harness feelings for other man/men when he was not in picture, after their first post marriage argument he had clearly asked her if she felt the same still. She had lied then to save her marriage. Though her intentions are sincere, she is indirectly contradicting herself in front of his eyes. Not long back I applauded her when she developed a backbone to stand for what she believes in, to fight against her very intimidating husband too. Then why today, just to please this friend did she decide to bend backwards? Why could she not defend her marriage of choice and husband in front of this stranger?
Arnav with strong setbacks in life, still strives to move forward. Though it seemed cowardly of him to run away in face of her confession, it indirectly point to the fact that love for him has far deeper meaning and connotation. The termed should not be taken lightly or thrown around carelessly. Somehow today of all days, his anger was perfectly justified. Even if you happen to take away his past, any man would have reacted the same way. A moment was inevitable when Arnav would witness half confrontation between Khushi and Rishabh was a foregone conclusion. I was not happy with the way it played out.
I have seen other reader comment, especially cosmina express doubts, if the victim is indeed Khushi. Arnav is highly frustrated as of now, did he mistakenly take other woman as Khushi. Was it some other woman wearing black saree? This is a way balance story with mistakes at both end of the parties. There are feelings at both ends but mostly what stands out is 'Impulsiveness Vs Caution'. I somehow do not want to see Arnav nursing Khushi back to health. Their equation will drastically change if so were to happen. Its not about Arnav's redemption only, Khushi needs to redeem some too. If she gave him a reason to hope, she equally gave him a reason to doubt too. Her presence made him re examine skeletons in his closet too. In midst of all this what comes out strong is his sincerity to try for their sake. Why should HE always be a knight on white charger to rescue? If she can fight for her dignity with her husband, why would she not fight back with a man trying to encroach into her marriage? A strong woman needs to keep her wits about her too, why rely on her man for that too. Arnav's rightly feels like a charity case, knowing her and knowing the affection for others that she goes around bestowing freely.
If the victim was indeed Khushi, we have a man trying to make amends to his heart broken wife. I somehow do not want Rishabh trying to make Arnav understand Khushi sincerity towards him. I do not wish to see other well meaning people intervene. Khushi is learning along way, it would be nice to see her stop trying to please everyone and pretend things are hunky dory when they are not. Arnav needs just a jolt to come away from the edge of blinding anger, to realise he cares for her. Will seeing a Khushi alike woman take a fall get him out of his stupor? After everything else, she has become his addiction, his drug and he will always come crawling back to her. I would say I might not crave 'Knight to Rescue', but a 'Comrades in Arms' who have each other backs while navigating through mine field of life..
What is interesting is the way you make us sympathise with one character this time and other for the next time. Its a talent that is for sure, for we end up discussing, debating to our heart's delight 😆
Hopefully you put us out of this melancholic we seem to have fallen in since last update.
Please update very soon.

I loved your comment..I am not sure if it is Kushi or not, but I hope she is not..she did mistakes, but this punishment (accident) would be too harsh :-(

i was thinking the same thing...u penned down very nicely...let see how writer ji will take from now onwards, but kushi is young and imature, she doesn't have any body to share her doubts, her feelings,confusion...thats why she is strugling..aranv is there but the way he is asking about everything from starting it is very demanding they r not friends...she is scared of hurting her loved ones...thats what i feel...
cheers..

Hey Guys,

Thank you all so much for such brilliant heartfelt comments. Made my efforts with the chapter worthwhile. Love ya all!! Shall be putting up Likes soon.

I am actually very happy this time with the intense yet mix reactions this chapter got. It feels rewarding that a character that I created, Rishabh, stands individually in an Arshi story and actually has found a few supporters among hardcore Arshi fans who understand his POV. Personally, I love Rishabh Raichand. He is a balance between Khushi and Arnav in this story. Nice and clever. Missing that cunning streak of ASR, yet not entirely selfless like Khushi. He was intimidated by her limp like any normal teenage boy and found his way around it towards love like a real man.

Coming to the reviews, from overall comments I can deduce that you guys think Rishabh and Arnav are selfish and Khushi is suffering because of them. I agree. But then all three are flawed in their own ways here. Rishabh is misguided and impulsive, Arnav loves passionately but distrusts even more passionately and Khushi with all her good peace-loving intentions, is still to learn how to deal with life rationally.

However for those of you who are blaming Khushi for not prioritizing properly, not being upfront with Rishabh, saying things she should have kept to herself and hurting Arnav, I have a few things to say:

1. A year back when Arnav had arrived in India, he had refused to salvage her reputation point blank that very night. Later he demanded, infact threatened her to leave him alone. Was rude to her. Did she leave him alone? No. And had she left him alone there would have been no love story here. She did not give up for her bade papa's sake. For the peace in the house. Or for whatever reason. HOW do you expect her to change her basic nature when dealing with her best friend, who she knows is hurting immensely. She does not give up on people. Period.

2. When she blurted all those things in front of Rishabh, they were arguing. It was not a well thought or well planned conversation. She was frustrated. He was frustrated. Things came up. She had no idea Arnav will personally come to her office that particular day. For all she knew it was safe even if she strip dances in front of her friend there. And she was just laying her friend down gently.

3. She is not prioritizing well. Really? Ask any 3 month old bride how much she is ready to forgo for the sake of her husband who she did not even love at the time of marriage. Khushi is hell prioritizing for someone who was clear from the word go that her old relationships are important to her and she will not leave them behind.

4. Why did she even say yes to goto lunch? Answer hidden in points 1,2 and 3.

Having cleared that, I never said that Khushi is flawless. Yes she is less flawed compared to her husband, but she does have her own loyalties, obligations, biases and shortcomings. Then, she saw the best of everyone around her since childhood. It is not difficult for her to have faith in people in worst circumstances. Her whole upbringing is a solid proof of goodwill and goodness of people.

Oh and the most asked questions: Did Rishabh see Arnav standing there? Yes, He did. Did Arnav push Khushi to her death? Yes, He did. Was that girl in black saree Khushi? Yes. Though I have a strong suspicion that more than not getting it, it was the case of not believing it for the readers who asked them.

Hope we all are on the same page now. If you guys want I can put up a small index of some comments that I found particularly intriguing (like the one above this post by MoonlightAura). Lemme know if you have time and inclination for that.
Next update in a week or so I guess. Exact date I'll let you all know later.

Oh, thank you a lot for the note Anamika .. it's a great help.. agree with everything you said but I'll stick to at least one thing.. I will support khushi for anything, anyday except that confessing part ,I still think it's a big blunder ( & believe me, it is solely for R's well being .. so that, he doesn't think he still has a chance) .. & I was hoping after hope that the girl is not khushi .. you hurt her :( :( :(
.
Edit : about teaser , god gooodness, Arnav leaves khushi kya ?

Thnx for d pm
Amazing story
Tho its been a little long tht u last updt so guess forgot wht hppnd bet the two.

I knw friendship is important n tht too a best friend at tht.
However here Khushi jus does nt seem to realize tht she needs to keep a distance.
Keepin in touch with someone who hs feelin for you n keeps puttin himself there all the time n makin your spouse insecure is nt healthy.

I never liked this Rishabh guy coz he likes thngs as he wnts when he wnts.
He clearly is trouble n now he delibaretly made khushi say thngs he wnted Arnav to hear so he cn cause trouble.
His intentions are clear he wnts Khushi.

Khushi however close you are to your best friend he has feelings bt once she denied he has to respect her decision which this guy is nt doin infact addin fuel to fire.
I don't knw how khushi cud say abt her love n confess now after marriage to Arnav even if she did have feelings in past its wrong on so many levels to mention it.

Even if Arnav ws a normal guy without his horrible past he still wud nt have liked wht khushi said.
Arnav did ask khushi whether she hs feelin for tht guy if she is ok marryin him n she hid abt her feelings n specially after knwin his past she shud hve been careful around tht jerk coz no friend or love wud do wht rishabh did I hate tht guy for this.
Arnav being insecure n felt betrayed lashed out at khushi. if he ws in right frame of mind he shud hve punched Rishabh for messin with Khushi's mind.
