Chapter 2 - The Prince meets his to-be Princess

After a week.

"Subhadra Ji. Yeh teen ladkiyaan bohot hi acche khandan se hain.. Hum sabki photo aur unke baare mein jaankaari le aye hai. Aap dekh lijiye" (Subhadra Ji. These three girls are from very good families. I've bought all the information related to them. You may see.) the priest informed Nani, handling the portfolios of the girls to her.

Nani took the portfolios, and showed them to Anjali. They thanked the priest, and after his departure, sat discussing about the girls.

The first one was Suhana. Anjali found her to be too modern. Nani too didn't like her much. The second girl was Kriti. She was termed as 'too traditional'. God knows what kind of girl they were searching for their Chotte.

On seeing the third girl, a sense of calmness shadowed over Anjali's face, as if the she was the best girl whom her brother could marry. Her lips automatically curved into a smile, and she looked at Nani's face, which too reflected the same emotion. It seemed as if their search was over fruitfully. Her name was 'Khushi Kumari Gupta' - simple yet elegant. Modern yet traditional. This was what they wanted. Perfect!

Anjali noted down the address and phone number of the girl in her diary, and bookmarked the page with her photograph. The two ladies smiled and waited for Arnav's arrival from the office.

In the evening.

Arnav returned from office after a tiring day. Anjali served him coffee, and exchanged a 'Okay' look with Nani. Nani cleared her throat, and started on with the topic.

"Chotte, today we saw a girl's photo, and we really liked her"

"Please Nani. Not right now. I'm really tired at this time, we can talk about all this tomorrow" he plainly said, and got up to leave for his room.

"Oho Chotte. OK fine if you don't want to talk about her, but you can at least see her photo" said Anjali.

"Not now" he said and went to his room.

Anjali sighed at his boring brother, and sat beside Nani.

"Anjali beta, why don't we call the girl's parents. We can meet them tomorrow. If we have finalised to go there, then Arnav will not have any choice to deny" Nani suggested.

"Haan Nani. This will be a good idea. May be after meeting her, Chotte agrees to get married" Anjali approved the idea.

"Arnav will be here soon. Actually he is coming directly from office" Nani told Khushi's father.

"We'll wait Subhadra Ji" he politely replied.

"Excuse me" Aakash got up on being gestured by Anjali, to call Arnav.

"Aakash, you are also there?" Arnav spoke with a blue-tooth on his ear, driving his car.

"Haan bhai. They all are waiting for you" Aakash said in his usual nervous voice.

"Ya ya. I'm on the way"

"Ok. Reach here soon"

Arnav reached the society in which Khushi resided, and searched for the apartment. As he pressed the door bell and waited for it to open, he adjusted his tie, and moved a hand in his gelled hair to set them. Khushi's mother opened the door. Though he was not interested in marriage and all... but he had some morals to follow. He slowly bent, and touched Khushi's mother's feet, while she touched his head, blessing him. He went ahead and touched Khushi's father's feet. Nani and Anjali smiled and asked Khushi's parents to call Khushi.

Khushi came out of her room wearing a red and blue salwar-kameez, her silky hair left open, her tiny hands holding a tray with several cups, most probably containing tea. She put the tray on the table and went to stand beside her mother.

"Beta. Come here, sit beside us" Nani called out for her and she confidently went and sat between Nani and Anjali.

They sat for a few minutes, with Anjali asking her general questions, and Khushi replying it normally, while Arnav stared at her, maybe admiring her.

"I think we should let them talk for sometime alone" Aakash suggested, feeling bored.

"Ok" approved Khushi's father, and then told Khushi,"Khushi beta, take him to your room. You may talk a bit"

Khushi stretched a smile and stood up. She walked into her room followed by Arnav.

"Hi I'm Khushi" Khushi stretched her hand forward.

"I'm Arnav" he gave his hand in hers, shaking it a bit.

Silence spread between them, both not knowing what to talk about. Khushi looked everywhere but Arnav and same was the case with Arnav.

What will they talk? Will they like each other? Will it be a 'YES'?
