Chapter 7(B)-Heart Broken
Taani sat there thinking how to tell him about her going away. She obviously dint want him to know the reason why she wants to leave. After a lot of thought process, she decided she is gonna tell him through phone. She knew she cant tell him looking into his eyes with him infront of her. She cant see him heart-broken.
Rey missed it again,he missed his step again causing Sharon to shout at him again.
Sharon-Rey! What the hell is wrong with you? Where are u lost? Its a simple step. You have been trying since half an hour. Enough now! Do it now or else I will hit u now, she said in her siren mode. Rey has told swayam that taani isn't well in the morning itself. Swayam was trying to calm her down whereas rey irritated with all these took a break to drink water.
He was damn worried for her. He doesn't even know if she ate anything or not. He was having all bad thoughts "what if she is very very sick? If she faints? I order food and sent home. did she eat it or no? Our equation isn't that good also. Oh god, what should I do now? Yeah let me call her and find out how she is.I just hope she is okay. He picked up his phone to dial her number but he thought a while before he pressed the call button. "what if she feels that im behaving like a husband, I mean we still dint come up to that state yet. She had just been talking with me nicely since yesterday but if I call her and ask her she might think im over-reacting and bothering her. No no I don't want our relation to get more worse. She just started talking and I don't wanna ruin this also. No I wont call and disturb her but how will I know how she?
He went back to practice before they take lunch break. By that time Sharon also understood the situation and was back to normal. They all practised for a bit and went to the academy canteen for lunch.
Everybody were chilling out doing masti when rey had this worried look on his face. Swayam nudged him when everybody found him like that. Rey came back from his thoughts and the gang started their teasing with taani business again. Rey just smiled thinking about her. He was so excited to go back home today.
Taani picked up her mobile to call him after practising a few times how to frame it up. She needs to be rude to him once again to avoid him knowing about her state. Taani dialled his number and waited for him to pick it up. She was nervous but was trying hard not to show that.Rey saw her name flashing on his mobile, he was elated that she herself called him but his happy look was replaced by a concerned look when he remembered that he asked her to call him if she is very sick.He picked up the call coming away from the gang who seemed busy in chit-chatting.
Rey-Hello Taani! Are you okay? Is your headache getting worse? Did u have your lunch and breakfast?Medicine? I know taani I shouldn't have left u alone when you are sick but do u want me to come back home? I will Sharon if u want me to? Taani why aren't you saying something? He said pausing after his series of questions.
Taani was in tears when she heard him so much concerned for her. How rude she has been to him but still he never fails to take care of her. How can she leave him? But she cant destroy his life too.
Rey-taani you there? Say something he said softly when he found her quiet.
Taani-Ha Rey, No no im alright infact im feeling better after having lunch thanks for lunch rey, she said smiling genuinely at his care. Rey was happy that she is better now and she is talking normally with him. But he dint know the bomb that she is gonna explode next.
Rey-thank god! I was so worried, he said sighing in relief. Taani smiled but soon remembered why she called him.
Taani-Are you free now? Can I talk with you for 2 minutes? She sounded serious.
Rey-yeah sure! He said as her sensed her serious.
Taani-I just wanted to tell you that...that...hmmm! she said stammering.
Rey-that? He asked hopefully that she wanted to share something with him.
Taani-I just want to say that I don't this marriage is gonna work. I cant do it anymore. I don't think we would be happy. I want to be separated. I just cant take it anymore, she told him at once holding her tears. She tried hard to maintain her voice not to show him she is broken.
Rey-What?, he said shattered. She could feel that in his voice. She dint want to talk more and make him more broken.
Taani-yeah what I told is right! I want to get separated I want divorce. Yeah that's it, she said as she chucked the call not able to hear anything from him.
Here rey's heart broke into million parts when he heard that she doesn't want to stay with him and she thinks she isn't happy with him. All the hopes he had flew away hearing all this. He still cant register what she told him. She wants divorce. Why wouldn't she? She doesn't love me why should she try and stay with me and make this marriage work. But I cannot live without her. I will die the day she leaves me.Now what should I do? He dint understand what he should do. He dint wanna let her go nor he want to force her and make her stay with him. Her happiness matter to him most. He can do anything to make her happy even if she is happy in staying away from her he is okay with it.
All the day rey's thoughts had been wandering around her words. Atlast he came to a conclusion that he will let her go if she happy with it. It's time to go back home, but he dint wanna face her and show her that he is broken and make her guilty. Finally making up his mind,he went home taking dinner for her as she is sick and he dint wanna have dinner. No matter how hurt and how broken he is about her but he cant stop loving her and caring about her.
Rey reached home all sad but he composed himself and made him mind that he is gonna act like nothing happened when he stood outside the door caressing the "TaaRey Nivas" Board beside the door. He knocked the door pulling himself together. He gave a smile as she opened the door. She opened the door and went inside unable to face him she turned her back to him as she went inside the kitchen. Rey was hurt by her behavior but little did he know how broken she was. Even though he was broken inside he dint fail to notice how beautiful she looked in her simple saree.But he felt sad that she is not gonna be with him anymore.
Rey-taani, I got dinner for you. It's on the dining table. I'm going to freshen up, he said as he placed the parcel on the table.
Taani-Yeah okay! Freshen up and come we will have dinner, she said acting normal.
Rey-No! I already had dinner, you have it, he said facing her back as he stood near the dining table.
Taani-no you also have it otherwise im not gonna have it, she said stubbornly as she knew he dint have his dinner seeing his pale face. Rey agreed as he knew she wont back off and went to freshen up.
Crying for a long time in the shower, he went to have dinner knowing that she is waiting for him.They both had dinner silently stealing glances. Rey informed that tomorrow evening they are going to meet his friend, a lawyer. She nodded silently and after their dinner they slept crying and shattered.
