Part 12:
The girls finally came back with their water and saw Kaustuki sleeping, even though they were seething with anger. They didn't want to wake her up. She had a pretty rough day as well. They tried to fall asleep. But the one image that the both of them had in their heads was seeing the boys laughing with those bunch of leeches. The next morning the gathered again with sarpanch for another discussion session. They was a raised platform for the village heads and mats and a few cushions for the team and some other residents. They mats were under a huge tree, so it was relatively cooler. The boys had settled there with the cushions and made themselves comfortable. The girls who were still extremely mad at the boys just sat out in the boiling sun. The guy made gestures to join them in the shade, the girls paid no heed and pretended to ignore them, they adjusted their dupattas on their heads and began to listen to the sarpanch.
After a very male dominated speech, Vardhan sir had asked all of them to pair up in their usual pairs and take a look at the machine storeroom for a little bit of inspiration. They made their way in two separate groups. After getting inside, Vardhan sir had assigned theme different sections of the store room to work on. And with that he closed the door so that they wouldn't be disturbed. He was sitting outside under some shade working on a drawing. The girls feeling relieved that no village head could see them, took the dupattas of their heads, tied it around their waists, pulled hair into a bun and set of to work. All this without even acknowledging the boys or even hardly looking at them. The boys were puzzled at their behavior but mentally blamed it on the heat. They all got to work and suddenly Sanyu's phone started to ring. She was surprised that it actually had enough battery or signal. She picked up it was her mum, the signal wasn't strong but she heard words like Papa, Sameer and phone Karo! She told her mum that she will call her later and like a great coincidence the battery died. Sanyu kept working on, but it was killing her inside as to what her mum had to say. She told Manasvi and indirectly to Randhir that she was going to the Sarpanch's office to make a call.
Randhir offered to come along. Sanyu didn't say anything but went to Vardhan sir to ask for permission just as he was about to leave. He said yes and asked her to bring a few papers that the sarpanch wanted to give them. She nodded yes and Randhir quietly followed her. Vardhan slightly smiled at that, Randhir's behaviour towards Sanyukta was changing, and it was changing rapidly. Inside, Manasvi had moved to the farther end of the huge storeroom to look for something. Parth followed her as usual, he asked her what she was looking for and if she needed his help. Manasvi fumed at the word help, where was he yesterday? When she actually needed help? He was laughing with those leechy people that she needed help against. She was mumbling all of this under her breath. Parth didn't understand her strange behaviour, she was never the one to mumble. She was the first to clearly voice out her opinion and she was quite loud. A sudden scraping of metal broke his trance. Manasvi was trying to lift this huge rusty metal lid of some big container and she was struggling. He was just watching her for a bit, she didn't give up, she tried with all her might and now she was getting frustrated. He quietly went up to her and she looked at him about to say something, before she could he lifted that offesive lid for her. Manasvi was angry but was trying to stop herself from looking at his biceps or that face. She still maintained that poker face, though she was a little flushed from all the heavy duty attempts.
Manasvi was always the one for great manners, but this time neither did she say thanks nor did she look at him. This was when Parth realised that something was wrong and that he did something to upset her. On the other side. Sanyu had finally reached the sarpanch's office, the watchman gave her the papers needed and left to got eat lunch. She found the phone before he left and said thanks, she quickly called her mum. Someone picked up, there was nothing said for the first few seconds but after that there was a lot of background noise. Sanyu's mum quickly told her what happened and said that she will call her later.
Sanyu couldn't believe it, how could this even happen? Like what the hell? She was in a daze of shock! She quickly sat down on a chair and Randhir was just standing there concerned. He didn't know what to do. After counting for 10 seconds, he quietly poked her shoulder and asked her what's wrong? What happend next? He would never ever forget.
Sanyu jumped up and down like a little child on a Christmas Day and was quickly saying something. He grabbed her shoulders and steadied her and asked again, she said that her dad had gone to sameer's house for some ritual and there outside the gate he saw Sameer and this girl hugging and talking about something, after a few ask arounds and some trusted men, he found out that it was his girlfriend and they were planning to runaway together. He dragged both of into the house and told sameers's parents of what their son is sling and broke the rishta. Can you believe it Randhir? My rishta is broken, mujhe an shaadi nahin karneee!!! And with that excitement and unexplainable happiness, she hugged him, Randhir was nearly knocked off by this force of extreme happiness that just landed in his arms. The held her by her waist and was about to whisper congratulations in her ear...and Sanyu just moved her head at that instinct and the rest was history. They had kissed! Though it was accidental. Randhir quickly held her face and kissed her again, this time knowingly but on the forehead. He was truly happy for her. He kissed her on the forehead and whispered congratulations. I'm happy for you. And gave her a big bear hug.
Sanyu couldn't believe what was happening to her. She had never seen such a soft side to Randhir, Randhir was quite shocked as well, he had never shown Sanyunkta or anyone else for that matter such care and concern. They were both in a daze when they walked out of that room, both were thinking about their respective feelings for each other! When they got out they saw their whole gang headed towards them, Manasvi in the lead followed by Kaustuki both looked extremely angry and were very close to tears, Sanyu shrugged off her issues and went over to her friends!
FLASHBACK: 15 MINS AGO
Parth couldn't take it anymore, he grabbed Manasvi's arm with a little more force that he would've liked to and asked her what was wrong. She shrugged him off and continued working, she was in a really bad state and she knew she would say something to him that she would absolutely regret later on. She was working on someother metal things and when she tried to move it her hand slipped and her forearm hit the corner and she started bleeding. Parth rushed to help her, she took a step back and said she was fine. Parth started yelling now, he asked her wheat her problem was. She lashed straight back at him when he offered to help, She asked him where his helping nature was yesterday when she was dire need of it. He was happily enjoying the company of those leeches, laughing and being merry. While her and Sanyu were struggling to get out of that situation. Did he realise that they were misbehaving? I don't want you guys to be heroes and start fighting, you could atleast talked them out of it, you were just standing there. Don't you understand? Since the moment us three came to this village, not a single man has been kind or considerate. Do you even know how that feels? When you are being questioned about everything? The way you dresss? The way you speak? Your culture? Your parents? And like the day or the taunts couldn't have gotten worse, we see you hanging around with the exact same bunch having the time of your lives. Now isn't that just the icing on top.
Parth was quite shocked, they boys had seen them last night, but they didn't say anything as they had thought it was all done in friendly humour. They village boys and obviously never seen a educated girl form the city before, so they just being idiots about it. When he had said the same, Manasvi gave him the dirtiest look possible. With that she left.
On the other side, Jiggy and Kaustuki were having a similar discussion about last night and how Jiggy had laughed at her hindi with the other village heads. She told him that this was a new experience for all of them, instead of sticking together and helping each other out, he was bent on making fun of her infront of everyone. She asked him why he didn't help Sanyu or Manasvi last night? He replied saying that it wasn't a big deal and the boys were just having fun. He also said that he didn't understand why the girls were making such a big deal about it? They should've enjoyed all the attention that was being given to them. Kaustuki couldn't believe he had just said that, she turned around to leave but not before she gave him the biggest slap that she could with all her strength. With that she walked off.
PRESENT TIME::
Sanyu walked to the both of them, they went to get lunch and then finally talk about all the crap that was happening to them. But first they went to the aunty that had invited them for breakfast to apologise for not coming and get some treatment for Manasvi's hand. After going back to the sweet aunty and a fresh invitation for breakfast, they headed back to their little house. There Manasvi and Kaustuki had filled Sanyu on everything that happened and so had she. About the rishta breaking and the whole thing that happened with Randhir.
The two girls were ecstatic, they were soo happy for their friend. They had secretly known that Randhir and Sanyu were meant to be. After a little teasing and food, they had headed back to their work. This time Manasvi and Kaustuki had a clearer head and wanted to sort their issues in a calm way and not get frustrated. Both of them had listened to what Sanyu had said and now it was time to implement it. Kaustuki had straight gone to Vardhan sir and asked him if she could work with someone else as she was only doing the paperwork and other minor things with Jiggy. She wanted to switch partners so she could learn some more. Vardhan sir had asked her to pair up with YOyo. She was more than happy to YOyo had always been kind to her, she absolutely wouldn't mind working with him.
Seeing Kaustuki's solution worked out, it was now time for Manasvi. It wasn't cry hard. Parth was actually standing outside waiting for her. She took some very cautious steps and stood infront of him. Parth was actually wondering if he should talk to Manasvi that day or wait it out and talk the next day, but then again she was angry and he didn't want to leave her like that. He saw her walking towards his direction and saw a change in her persona. He knew this was the time to talk. He slowly started the convo by asking her about her hand and she replied that it was a bit painful but she was ok and then as if on cue, both of them said sorry at the same time. They laughed at their timing. Parth said that they should've realised that the girls were uncomfortable, Manasvi told him that it was ok and that'd she overreacted, but it was nothing against him. She was angry the whole day and seeing the boys with those leeches was just final straw. They both had made up over that and moved to continue working. Now that the initial plan was finished. It was time to move on to Sanyu's masterpiece idea. Manasvi squared her shoulders, took a deep breath asked him.
Parth? I want to learn TaiChi.
